[QUOTE="darkspineslayer"][QUOTE="Giancar"]Truth to be told I haven't downloaded a demo in a long time. And I don't play those more than 3 times. But friends a family play it too. Nintendo should change this. Not deal breaking, but annoying.BlabadonStandard family of four all gives it a try twice: 8 Lowest I've ever seen the limit is twelve. 30 is closer to the norm, which is more than reasonable. And the limit is just how many times you boot the game up. Nothing stops you from repeat play in one sitting.Adventure Time on the 3DS is five tries.I only played it once I didn't really like the demo at all so I didn't purchase the game.
Who plays demos more than once or twice anyways?TheGuardian03If you don't have games I can see it I played some demos for 20 times because I had to wait a month when I first got my PS3 I only had one game and when I finished that game I had to wait a month till Christmas when I could get more games for it so I played demos over and over again just so I had something to play on my PS3.
[QUOTE="Desmonic"]If its a non issue then why the hell is there a limit in the first place? Why are people ok with things being taken away? This is just as bad as that always online nonsense but sheep are taking it up the ass like its nothing. this slight annoyance is no where near as draconian as the always online policy and comparing the two is straight up asanineIt's a damn DEMO! If you keep playing it over and over then you OBVIOUSLY want the damn game. It's not rocket science you know? This is a non-issue as far as I'm concerned.

I do, i get my racing fix just from playing like Collin MCRae 2 or 3 Demo, is enough to try beat the time records from just the demo
Lol, bad example because they don't lose out from restricting the demo because you don't plan on buying anyway.[QUOTE="aroxx_ab"][QUOTE="TheGuardian03"]Who plays demos more than once or twice anyways?SaltyMeatballs

Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but I'm sure there are a few sheep out there that came painfully close to those limits because of the amount of games available for the system, or a lack there of....
there should be a limit on demos anyway  , buy the full game if you want to keep playing dont be cheap your selfÂ
If I play a demo three times or so, I'm in all likelyhood not going to buy the game. Â If I play it twenty+, I most assuredly am. Â Limitations are idiotic. Â Christ, game companies just can't fathom the notion that people get enjoyment for....*gasp* FREE, even if it's a thirty minute section of a game.
OH my lord how cheap can they be?

But what if you're playing the demo while waiting for the release? Which i've done in the past.
Sega did something wierd like this once. They had a time limit on the demo for Sonic Generations or something.
Why not just let people enjoy the demos and if they like it, they can buy the full game, that is the point, why are some companies tight about it?
It's never an issue in practice, but it's so petty that you wonder if they did it just to needle us.
Maybe the Nintendo execs have a meeting once in a while to invent a new arbitrary, mildly irritating restriction that's not a big deal, but reminds the customers who's in control. It would explain friend codes.
[QUOTE="HalcyonScarlet"]Only the nintendo know this answer.....lolWhy does a demo need play limits? :|
AtariKidX
I've played plenty of PC demo games in the past that had a limit on the time i could spend with it ..Â
This is nothing new .. you pathetically ignorant moron.
they're in the 90's still, live them alonesilversix_But I thought people liked Nintendo better in the 90's?

Not the same thing but nice try. Reactions here are over blown though. Not the same thing but nice try. Reactions here are over blown though. MFDOOM1983
I wasn't trying, but thanks to you, now i've read the thread and gave some light to a cig .. Okai, it's not the same thing. It's a vastly better deal than what i've experienced with some PC demos (30 min. time limit, 5 tries, etc.).
Actually, it doesn't really make any sense whatsoever. You've got a limit of 20 plays on that demo, more than enough than any living soul will ever need.

Oh, so now these pc games have play limits in addition to time limits?Â[QUOTE="Lucianu"]

Oh, so now these pc games have play limits in addition to time limits?ÂIt depends on the demo. I remember Bejeweled 3 having a time limit on its demo, tho i forgot how long you're allowed to play. Zuma aswell.. It's been some time since i downloaded a demo of anything, but once i saw that shot in the thread starter's post, my mind immediately went to a lot of older demos i used to try from indies, that had either a time limit, or a play limit.

That's very interesting unless you figure out that many demos come out before the game does and act as a taster, and people wanting to play them are often waiting for a release date. When you factor that in your argument is worthless. Pity really.
