[QUOTE="peacenutman"][QUOTE="bedram793"][QUOTE="lowe0"]Not necessarily. In fact, in the past few years, I really haven't seen much of a correlation at all. Look at Metroid Prime 3, a great game that's running on seriously weak hardware. Better hardware can make a good game better, but a great game is a great game, regardless of what it's running on.[QUOTE="blackdreamhunk"] You know the best games run on better hardware!Puckhog04
I don't see programing done on console do I blackdreamhunkHave you ever written a line of code in your life? I'm a developer, so don't try to bull**** me... I'll know.
Not buying it. I was a PC gamer for years, but Halo and Gears of War are two of my favorite games. My standards and taste in games didn't just disappear one morning. I'm sure you'd like to think you're a discriminating consumer of games who's smarter than the masses, but here's a newsflash: console gamers aren't a bunch of knuckledragging cretins. You'll find plenty of discerning gamers on consoles too. It's because they are rated usually by different people, usually by a person that mostly plays on that system. And 360 players find games like Halo and Gears of War great, while PC gamers actually expect more from a game. Truth is, PC gamers expect more from a game because there just has been so many great games on PC.

how come none of the lems, cows and sheep ever back you up in these ridiculous threads jason???I'm going with this one. You know how we complain that a few people's ridiculous arguments make consolites look bad? Yeah, he's one of them.
i wonder...kidcool189
Not buying it? Do I care? I'm saying, I used to actually like games like Halo and Gears of War. After playing games on my PC, yes my standards and taste for games really did change. I'm not saying it did over one morning (don't put words in my mouth), but I saw how better games on PC are.
And who said anything about console gamers being idiots? I used to be a console gamer myself, and I didn't look at myself as an idiot. Once again, stop putting words in my mouth.
Finally, I don't think myself as a discriminating consumer of games who is smarter than the masses (actually that last part I do, but not because I'm a PC gamer). Once AGAIN, don't put words in my mouth and don't act like a **** **** who thinks he knows everything.
Also, I'm sure I'll find plenty of discerning gamers on consoles too, never said I won't. Once AGAIN, don't put words in my mouth.
And if you seriously think of Halo and Gears of War as two of your favorite games, then good for you. I find GoW a very linear shooter and repetitive and short. I find Halo as a generic shooter, with nothing truly special about it. It's obvious you haven't played games like Crysis, Mafia, Crysis Warhead, Max Payne 1 and 2, Call of Duty (the first one), Fallout 1 and 2, Dues Ex, Sins of a Solar Empire, World in Conflict, Company of Heroes, StarCraft, The Witcher, Diablo 1 and 2, Far Cry 1, STALKER, etc. I could mention many more.
Well if you gonna use PC games back from the 90s, so can consolites, mario, sonic, golden axe, street fighter 2, street of rage, zelda, super metroid, castlevania, and the lists go on.
I mean thats face it, whenever we see hypes or advertisments, they are all console games. This gen alone consoles have more AAA and AA then PC (from Nov 05 till now).
Console games nowadays are just more appealing to the audiences than PC.
Your response fails on so many levels (including your last statement that is apparently based on nothing but your opinion) but i'll just show one.
http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=p7pcq78sddbXfN0A-LjKWEA
PC: AAA Exclusive = 10. AA exclusive = 59.
PS3: AAA Exclusive = 1 (counting LBP). AA exclusive = 4.
360: AAA exclusive = 4. AA exclusive = 12.
Wii: AAA exclusive = 4. AA exclusive = 7.
So, once again, PC wins by over double the amount in terms of AAA exclusives and AA exclusives. And this list if from Dec. of 05' and on to now. Don't state things that are obvious lies.
Edit: Didn't mean to resurrect such a dead thread that i abandoned earlier due to college courses but, heh, oh well. Can't believe this thread was still up.
Here's where that spread sheet fails:
1.Because PC doesn't have generations like consoles, the list includes games like Prince of Persia, Marc Ecko's Getting Up, Dreamfall: The Longest Journey, etc are clearly last-gen, because their console counterpart are on PS2/Xbox. Those games shouldn't even be on the list.
2. That list contains TONs of expansions, which is a cheap way for hermits to claim more AAA or AA, which is essentially just add-ons, while consoles dont have expansion and thier add-ons dont get reviewed (Warhawk).
3. The list needs a update, supreme commander and world in conflict are not exclusive anymore, they are coming to X360.
So next time hermits before using that spreadsheet, think.
