Because they are paying almost 70EUR and they are getting half of the features, they can't rent movies,or download most of the videos...etc..most of the good feature xbox live offers are only for United States/Canada.. don't get me wrong i love xbox live and i'm not even European, but i have many European friends complaining for these issues and i understand them..they pay way more than us and get half features.

I pay 60 euro, can rent movies and can download most of the game videos fine. The problem is there's no Netflix, TV shows and a few films aren't there. But yeah, it's a bit of a rip-off compared to American XBL. Mainly the price though.

Actually, Canada gets screwed for some pretty major stuff. No Netflix - each movie rental costs a few hundred MS points.

It's 600 pesos (50 something USD) for a year of live. And the only thing we can do is play online. No movies, no tv, no shows.

depends on how long you pay for online/how many games you get.

Some places it is expensive as hell to get games, the PS3 is Region free which means you could import games at a price that may be cheeper then buying them locally.

That's what happens when you use a product that didn't birth from your country. Gamers have been feeling that pain for years -- doesn't the Wii have certain capabilities in Japan that isn't out yet in America?

In Europe, we pay more for games....like 70 euros..... but if we import, it could cost around 40 euros because if im not mistaken, 1 euro is almost 1.5 dollars so with that option, we have some advantage

I suggest that Europeans buy their games from the UK. The UK is also a PAL territory, part of the EU and part of Europe. A friend of mine recently saved €36.71 by buying three DS games in the UK instead of Germany. Amazon.co.uk, ShopTo.net and Play.com deliver throughout Europe. Be a smart gamer and buy your games in the UK.

But as I understand, that does nothing for Live Gold subscriptions as they're region-locked. However, Live Gold isn't needed for most video downloads (the only ones that require Gold in the US are Netflix and certain timed exclusives). The lack of content is a rights issue more than anything. European content providers seem reluctant to share at this point, though why isn't well known (price isn't right? reluctant to do business? red tape?).

Yet they adjust prices for the UK. That's odd, though, since the pound is much closer to the euro in value than the dollar is to the euro.

Then keep doing so until it doesn't become viable anymore. Last time I checked, the PS3 costs €82 less in the UK than in the rest of Europe. The price differences are ridiculous sometimes but I am sure Europeans welcome them if they have access to the cheaper goods.

Well it's nice of you to make things up and fight the good fight for poor europe but you're wrong. Recently Microsoft announced a deal with a large french rental service that should help them out greatly. Even though their already supporting the UK, France, Germany and a lot of other European countries.

Not to meantion the latest Sky deal which happens to be the largest digital tv provider in the UK, with films, sports coverage and tons of other channels up for grabs. Last.fm coming soon for our music needs, Countless film studios signed on and offering movies across europe on Xbox 360s, facebook and twitter both coming to the X360 sometime this year, all Microsoft exclusives pretty much launching world wide unlike other console owners that release them seperately depending on region.

Lets not even begin to talk about the 360s version of Qore (it was actually around first theres a shocker) that's got it's own presenters in several counties across europe.

I can go on if you like? You picked a terrible point because Microsoft happens to do the best out of the 3 in Europe. What needs to be kept in mind is Europe is a collection of countries, all speaking their own languages. They've done an extremely good job so far and it's rather irritating that you try to downplay it because if the other two made half the effort i might look on them in a better way than i currently do.

I will say their microsoft point system is an absolute god awful rip off and I've boycotted the entire thing, refusing to buy anything from the marketplace. If you buy the cards there far to over priced and have funny amounts of points, they don't accept many major credit/debit cards and their just shockingly bad in that area.

Too bad that "American" isn't a language. How do we communicate with you now? Anyway, I asked this in another thread and I never actually checked if I got an answer. What do people in the US earn per hour at McDonalds or something similar? It's 7.50 Euro here which is about $11. You can't just compare prices and say that somebody is getting ripped off when you don't compare the income in those countries, too.

Yep, well the gaming industry is slowly becoming less America-centric. We're already seeing major developers springing up in the continent, hopefully publishers will follow suit and focus more on the MASSIVE European market which seems to be driving gaming right now.

What's American? I see you are speaking English from good old England. Perhaps you are referring to what is stupidly referred to as "American English" which is just a dumbed down form of the true English for simple-tons. Case and point learn to spell doughnut.Thebettertwin

And english is just a dumbed down form of German.

Genitive case say: "OH MY LEGS!"
