Yes Project Cars is the best looking game around these days and it's still like a year out from completion. Ben Buja has some excellent shots of it in the PC screenshot thread and the game looks phenomenal.
i see lots of things which should have round edges, but don't. Not impressed, especially for so-say next-gen quality:?
Here are some better shots.Anyone who thinks Forza looks better than this is an idiot. Not only does this have far superior lighting and textures but also has the ability to run at 1080p+ and 60+fps
The reflections are better. And it looks pretty damn photoreal anyways. If those are next gen graphics i want my money back, for real those don't look like anything special infact those pics don't look any better then GT5 photomode pics.

[QUOTE="zarshack"]The reflections are better. And it looks pretty damn photoreal anyways.too many pointy edges that should be rounded for that, there is also a lot of jaggies and the textures don't look that amazing not for something touted as "next gen" A lot of the stuff there is no more advanced then current gen racing games. I would expect much more from a next gen title. If those are next gen graphics i want my money back, for real those don't look like anything special infact those pics don't look any better then GT5 photomode pics.

The pointy edges are easily visible and really bring down the way the cars look in these screenshots.[QUOTE="parkurtommo"] The reflections are better. true... but the game wont be available soon, i believe its coming out next year so devs still have plenty of time to polish/sharpen visuals..

This gens next gen....

Ugh. Now, THOSE are jaggies.
Eh, @ 195 MPH, just squint your eyes a bit and poof, they're gone. :twisted:Anyhoo, not too shabby at all for 7 year old HW plus it's the best driver on consoles and I'm certain PGR5 launching with the new MS console will blow all others way. :P

Forza 4 looks better than Project Cars?So long as the Forza 4 screenshots are tiny.

I know. I'm just having fun. In reality, I rarely notice jaggies once I'm engrossed with playing the game. I usually notice them only if I'm exploring or the action slows down.
Next-gen? Gran Turismo 5 even looks better than this.
GamerwillzPS
Does it look better than GT5 Prologue? My kid has GT5P. Project Cars looks better to me.
Some of thsoe pics ar ein dire need of tessellation and Anti-aliasing.
I think we've progressed far enough now that we don't need polygonaly looking circles anymore.
I also find it hilarious that consolites are bringing up "photo mode" where they cna stare at a single car on the screen at 720p chugging at sub 30 FPS vs the equivalent running on PC at 60+ FPS 1080p+ and as actual gameplay.
The cars definitely looks great but the tracks/environment looks meh :( http://youtu.be/LNspLjz5wyAraskullibur
It's a long ways off from release yet. They haven't spent much time in the environment details, they have been creating car models and fixing bugs and physics handling more so than anything else. There are no weather effects added yet or eve clouds and the moon/sun have some tweaking left too. But a nice touch is the sun actually enulates proper global positioning relative to where the track is in real life and at the proper time of year. Now THAT'S attention to detail

I found some gameplay for this game. Its the pre-alpha build of this game. There's more videos in the link.

GT5 is an inconsistent pile of dung...lets see shall we....LOOK AT DEM 2D trees.
[QUOTE="GamerwillzPS"]In actual gameplay it doesn´t,photomode isn´t gameplay.Next-gen? Gran Turismo 5 even looks better than this.
Nanomage
Those pics aren't gameplay either who drives a car with the camera zoomed in on the front left wheel? Still not a "gen" ahead regardless.

Actually, I noticed more the low-res and blurry cockpit/dash. The trees I might not notice too much at full speed. I will notice the dash though. Good thing the dials and gauges are overlaid in front to divert attention away.

These are actual ingame graphics unlike GT5s photomode where it takes the PS3 a minute to render a single frame at this high resolution.
These actual ingame shots I've taken with the free cam. Project C.A.R.S. is also still in development, and many effects are not finished yet. I.e. Clouds, dynamic weather and lots of trackside objects etc. are still missing.

Kinthalis
Tesselation is being considered right now, and might be added later. The ingame AA is not that great yet, but they're planning to implement super sampling and maybe TXAA as an option. Don't forget that this game has at least a year left in development time.
