NPD Sales Results for April 2016 | Dark Souls 3 and Ratchet and Clank Dominate

So was MLB. 2 Sony exclusives kicked the shit out of QB in scores and sales this year before Uncharted 4 even released lol.

Whatever. It only sold 27k its first week UK which is NOT good. If's a flop. Deal with it.

No linear 8 hour game with no replay value has a 50 percent digital split. You are entering delusional territory and just making shit up.

The PS4 has not produce an exclusive that debut in the top spot on NPD all last year and all this year so far. I remember seeing some boasting how R&C is dominating other markets but once again like all last year, for all this year the PS4 which is the market leader failed to have an exclusive debut at number one. I hope U4 is number 1 next month.

Quantum Break did fine for a new IP that was focused on sci-fi, not to mention had live action. I would say it wasn't stellar, but I doubt they are unhappy with the sales.

Dark Souls 3 is an established series that launched on both consoles so I'm not surprised it beat out QB. The thing that stands out on that list for me is MLB, didn't realize Baseball games were so popular, but then again it was available on the PS3's massinve Install Base.

I very much enjoyed DS3, but surprisingly I was a little disappointed with the last few areas, I mean I was still enjoying it but after a while I just told myself what is the point of trying to find every single secret, going through every path, etc. I just wanted to beat it and move on to another game. But the game started out super strong and I may continue playing it at some point to finish all the secret areas and such. I had a blast with PVP and often used that Dried Finger. Fun times.

Quantum Break charted at #7 physically with a $150 preorder package if you purchased it digitally. These statistics mean nothing for knowing the actual position of the game given the insane level of incentive to purchase digitally.

@NathanDrakeSwag: The PS4 is the market leader and suppose to have the best games but for whatever reason their fans aren't buying enough of their exclusives so it could debut number 1 on NPD. PS4 had a drought all year long last year and if U4 doesn't debut at number 1, the drought continues. Again, the PS4 is the market leader, they set the goal post but have failed to score a number 1 debut for their games in almost 2 years now. R&C should've taken the spot since it's like $40 bucks but failed. But U4 will be number 1 next month though.

Don't know what EA's numbers have to do with the QB deal. Everyone I know that bought it got it digitally, including myself.

1. Dark Souls 3 is on multiple platforms so expecting an exclusive to outsell it is idiotic.

2. PS4 and Xbone sales are relatively close in the US so your market leader excuse doesn't hold much weight in an NPD thread compared to sales in the rest of the world.

QB being 7th when its literally the only Xbone retail exclusive until October is embarrassing. Go buy your flop instead of damage controlling why it bombed. That would help your sugar daddy Phil Spencer more than you making an ass out of yourself on here about it.

Dark Souls 3 Rules !!!

I thought games like Dark Souls were "niche" games so they don't really sell well? I guess that excuse was only for Bloodborn when it didn't debut at number 1 on NPD. Also another excuse being used is that Dark Souls is multiplat so that's why it's number 1. Well last year both Nintendo and MS had exclusive games only found on their respectable consoles that debut at number 1 that beat out multiplats on NPD while Sony did not and the drought continues for this year so far. Sony was the market leader last year and also this year but their exclusives are not debuting at number 1, that's weird. Also what's weird is before QB came out, cows were claiming they would just get the multiplat game QB on their PCs because all of a sudden cows have gaming PCs too. But when QB came out all of a sudden they treat it as an Xbox One exclusive. Strange creatures I tell ya. Anyway hopefully Uncharted will beat out Overwatch to end the drought but we shall see.

Also, QB is such a disappointment. Remedy must be furious for that fact that the Xbox One didn't allow them to produce their real vision of the game.

5 years down the drain for them for an audience who won't buy anything other than COD, Minecraft and Halo. I think Remedy is a talented studio (not top tier like some hype them to be but still very good) but they need to get the hell away from M$ if they want a wide audience of gamers to experience their games and to have better hardware to work with.
