Nintendo Platforms lack the logevity of Playstation systems which has always been Sony's approach and in the end it'll pay off. I can see the Wii slumping to numbers so low that they're bound to become hard to track, not much longer after the WiiU comes out.

I'm glad its up there in the top ten but lets be honest, Resistance is a franchise that wasn't really needed, the first game was good, jolly good fun when the PS3 first came out because there werent that many games to choose from and the split screen campaign kept me entertaing for quite a while but by the time Resistance 2 came out there were many other better games (shooters included) to choose from and what exactly is Resistance competing against, no other than Killzone and Cod, both established franchise with a much bigger following and overall better in every sense of the word. Resistance should have ended in 2 and insomniac should have abandoned the IP right after and moved on to make a new one, a Horror Survival game or anything other than a shooter. One could argue that Resistance only exist because the original game was labeled as the PS3 launch pearl, when there wasn't actually a PS3 launch pearl for starters, i'm saying this looking back with all due objectivity.

Certainly not me, i highly dislike tablets, they serve no purpose. I'm comfortable with my laptop and always will be until they shring a fully functional computer to tablet size and still i dont like to work with a screen that is smaller than 15 inches.
The general public didnt eat up the N64 the way nintendo expected, if Sony and Microsoft play their cards well next gen the Wii U should meet the same fate of N64 (which wasnt all that bad but didn't dominate the console market). Everything goes deeper than the media format this time around but the basic principle is the same, Nintendo already played the casual approach formula once now watch them try and repeat it a second time, expecting to emerge victorious.

I had a blast with Dead Island, but I've pretty much all but forgotten about it ever since Dark Souls came out. I still need to go back and finish it (78% completed last I played).
Cant believe R3 came in 7th place in software. lack of advertising really hurt the games sales. djsifer01
Actually, the fact that it's even on the list means its selling. Not Gears sales of course, but plenty of consumers in the U.S. alone are taking notice.

There's about a net 100K difference (in favor of the PS3) when Media Create and NPD are combined for July-Sept.
With Europe being an unknown, it's difficult to put together a comprehensive sell-through picture.
But ignoring that, in theory the PS3 should ship more this quarter than the 360. The other thing to consider is that shipments technically precede sell-through. So it's more indicative to take sell-through for late-July through to early-October (which we don't know for the US) probably.

I'm having a blast playing it, I'm about 2 quest into the Jungle. I haven't gotten around to playing Dark Soul yet cause I decided on Dead Island instead, will check it out later though.

i can see DEUS EX selling more this month than last month just because it was only counted 3 days last month compared to 5 weeks this month. So we'll see

Released on 23rd apparently so 5 days of tracking in August, but you're right, I didn't factor that in.
It depends on whether Deus Ex sold like a typical blockbuster game or not I guess, although it could be up over last month regardless.

3DS is up all around the world, for many reasons. It has the best first party line up coming out, and a great overall line up Honestly, the Vita doesn't stand a chance to catch up, its all about where it can stop the gap from spreading. 360 is up a lot, Gears explains that. Even though hardware sales were down (I think) overall I enjoy the feeling of ramping up before the huge Nov-Dec Xmas season.

I find it amusing how people absolutely insist on talking about Japan in a USA thread. Well there's no law preventing it anywhere. And the war is won in the end by that system who sells more worldwide not only in NA so I think it makes sense to talk worldwide sales from time to time.

I don't know what it is, but whatever MS is doing is working, because the 360 has been beating PS3 and Wii for over a year now, the thing doesn't stop selling and it's on its 6th year. The Wii has definitely hit the turning point. Sony continues to do well enough, slow but steady.

Still not good.And there are no worldwide numbers anyway. Well, I guess no official from Nintendo, but who honestly waits for official detailed numbers from Nintendo? Many online sales trackers have Star Fox's sales adding up between EU, JP and NA to around 250k, possibly a little bit more now. That isn't bad by any means, thats a lot of profit for a remake. I've had a chance to meet a lot of people from Q-Games and they're good people. I hope they get the chance to reboot Star Fox again, or perhaps Smart Bomb.

You mean sell the Xbox and Kinect for $150. Yea, never happening. I'd guess at best, $149 4GB, $249 320GB eventually
