Nvidia: ''Battlefield 3 Shows PC Dramatically Better Than Consoles''

You're missing my point, it's unnecessary. They don't need to use their 'take candy from a baby' routine in order to sell their idea, it's obvious and it just makes them look like unprofessional loud mouths. Do they think people are going to turn around and say "oh wow, I hadn't noticed that, the PC really is superior". It's so obvious, they don't need to market this fact. It'd be like Sony continually boasting about how it's PS3 graphics are leaps and bounds beyond the Wiis. Some types of boasting are just so obvious, it just looks sad really. Is it because everyone keeps choosing competitors for their GPUs, that Nvidia need to keep reaching. Like they're sour or something. Even though it's obvious, I agree it was probably necessary to state. You can deny it. Might even anger you some. "But the console version looks good enough." But secretly you would love a version that plays and looks better, so deep down inside you might be a little sad. And finally you accept it. Of couse there's no reason to deny the PC version is better. Why be hurt over it? As long as you're happy with your console version, it's all good.

Similiarly, I'm glad Ninja Turtles arcade game was released on the 8-bit NES. While it might not have looked, sounded, or played as good as the arcade version, at least I was able to play it. And I enjoyed the game immensely. I don't see any reason to deny console gamers as much of the experience as they can get. Some people are OK with just being able to play the game. And I side with that, but at the same time acknowledge that the other version (in this case PC) is better. It's not a big deal.

Actually it look leagues better, if you consider that consoles play Skyrim with 1024x600 and 30fps, and i play Skyrim with 1920x1200, 60fps, that is 4 times bigger resolution and 2 times more fps, this mean that it is already 8 (4x2) times better, and that don't even include the larger view distance, better texture, shadows, water, etc

Unless you have time and energy to spec, build, upgrade, troubleshoot and tweak your system, PC gaming is not for you.

If you just want to sit down and play without hassle, you get a console.

That's all there is to say about that.

remember project offset? Compared to other games at the time and now they trulely looked last gen compared to it with some exceptions like Crysis. Oh what about Crysis no console game could go anywhere near it in all factors until Crytek managed to away to make it do able on console but making several sacrifices. If I take a screenshot of Battlefield 3 on ultra and compare to what's considered the best looking game on consoles UC3 and Gears of War 3 wouldn't the differences be completely noticable. What about Metro 2033 where even low settings on PC out did the Xbox 360 version. Like the guy has said the potential is their but isn't being done due developers fear of being another Crysis in terms of sales and several other things.

Battlefield 3 doesn't even look that good graphically, on PC. :? It's a console port with slightly better graphics (aswell as the standard Res and AA bump) and higher player count. :? Seriously, the graphics are so overrated.

My brother has the PS3 version of BF3 and was tell me how much he hated it and had a launcdry list of complaints. He was over the other day and saw me playing the PC version on max settings on caspian border and couldn't believe how gimped the console version is in comparison

AMD Radeon HD 3870/4670 has about double the GLFOPs over Xbox 360's AMD Xenos GPU.

Nobody will care just because Nvidia said it. Personally, I think Nvidia needs keep their mouth shut till they can get drivers that actually do the game justice. Mystic-G

Obviously, but it would be nice to see a game with less flaws used as benchmark.

You can count the PS3,Wii,360,PS2,DC,xbox GC and the PS1 and still the PC has way more units sold,considering there is many many many more PC solds than consoles 19% is basically garbage,look how many people have play cityville on facebook more than 100 million dude.

So yeah 19% out of so many PC it basically nothing.
