It is not too surprising if this is a tech demo for the next generation of GPUs.

thats what top of the line next gen PC graphics are gonna look like.

as for consoles I dont know. they'd have to be very powerful machines to do that.

I really do think this is what we should expect, possibly with 3D thrown in there for good measure as they are releasing 3D televisions next year.

depends when they release the console, if it's 3 years from now than we'll definitly see fermi-type hell we might even see next gen of fermi-type GPU, i mean RSX is equivilent to 7800GTX when ps3 released 8800 series didn't even came out yet, and RSX didn't cost much to produce for sony.

PC gaming won't reach this kind of graphics until maybe 2011 but it will most likely be cutscenes. But I think consoles would reach this detail for next generation.

Still skeptical about these shots. I want real live footage of ai,physics etc.. With those graphics then I'll be convinced.

It's the same as with console launches, tech demos are not representative of the consoles performance in games. It will take years for games to catch up with a tech demo, definitely not within the generation the demo was shown.

What it does do is give you an example of the cards peak capabilities. We have yet to see this demo so we don't know how real it looks in motion, however it would be very impressive to achieve near photo-realism at all within the next couple of months; even if it is just a head.
