or
GTX 980 (reference) - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-353-AS&groupid=701&catid=1914 £469.99
Obviously these prices are for Asus cards on Overclockers (not the cheapest combo) other manufacturer cards will be cheaper.
Not EU but certainly closer to what Americans pay
It seems that they prices have gone up. They were at £429 earlier today.
Now imagine what a good 980 can do.
The 980 was too overpriced for me.
They only have the reference model out which runs at 80c when oced a lot.
The non reference models will be close to 600USD.
That is why I went with two GTX 970s.
An OC of around 1400mhz will perform similar to the GTX 980.
Why are they comparing it to the 680?
Because it's hardly better than the GTX 780.
What a shitty ass gpu Nvidia... Have to compare it to a card from 3 years ago to make it look good..
Why are they comparing it to the 680?
To try to cover up that fact that it's not a big improvement over the 780.
These cards were rumoured to be a huge improvement like the 8xxx series was. What a letdown.
Being able to play at 4k resolution on a 1920 x 1080p monitor is pretty amazing..
I hope you are being sarcastic.

I'm going 3x 980's.

They scale well.

I don't want to burn a hole in my wallet so 2x GTX 970s is good enough for my 1440p monitor.
The price vs performance is outstanding considering it outperforms the 295x2 for 340USD cheaper while using a lot less watts.

Using 3 or more you can actually play on 4K at a decent FPS.
I keep seeing these weird Tombraider results for the 780ti.
Tomb Raider running on Ultimate settings @ 1080p
This is with a single 780ti, it is oc'd to 1080Mhz but I doubt that would give nearly double the average frame rate of a stock card and I certainly wouldn't expect it to get me near a R295x. My PC was also running Norton 360 and all the other crap that loads on boot that would never be running on a test rig.
The 970 GTX is incredible for the price, it's almost at 780ti level for less than half the price.
The OC version even matches the 780ti in some games.
I might sell my GPU and buy 2 of these beauties.

The benchmark says 4xAA, I assume that means SSAA (Super Sampling x 4) Would explain the huge difference
Now we only need AMD to announce something to compete with these.
They probably don't have to, aside from cutting prices a bit.
Their next line of cards are coming out the first half of next year judging by press releases from their cooling partner.
3840x2160? who has a monitor at that resolution? The super rich? Mine maxes out at 1080p (had my 24" gateway since Crysis came out in 07' and not buying a new one anytime soon). Thats sad that instead of actual games that could push this thing at 1080p they have to push up the res... Nothing new on pc to take advantage of this really. I remember when quake 3 and unreal were the benchmarks, back then you struggled to play the games with the top of line cards because they were designed for them... now everything is a console port, indie or mmo (or stupid moba) on pc... and my favorite genre Turn Based Strategy..doesn't need this.
I am still sporting a 7870 and its fine for me. I guess in a few years when this drops to sub $200 is when I would pick it up, but until then this is unnecessary unless you are a benchmarker who likes spending fortunes on tech.
