What's wrong with hardware advancing? It's not like you need to upgrade, 5 year old PC video vards can play modern games just fine.
Human greed for more.
It's like when you get an iPad, and next year they release a new one, suddenly your precious iPad just isn't good enough.
It didn't change. It didn't downgrade. Still works fine.
But human greed wants more.
Same with PC hardware, constantly wanting, hungry for more, smoother framerates, better graphics in games, turn up sliders more, want want want.
Hard time enjoying a game because I'm thinking "if only I had quad core instead of dual core Athlon"
Whereas on my console I'll take schit graphics and like it, because I know I can't open it up and pop in better gear.
End up more content.
Please don't turn these comments into PC vs consoles, it's not meant in that way.
That's different. When a new Apple product comes out, they tend to take big advances from one to the next, and they often have features that are only supported by "the next iPad". This means that by not upgrading you're missing out on a lot.
PC hardware is different, you're still getting great graphics and you have no need to upgrade. You can upgrade if you choose to, but slighlty older cards have no problem playing PC games in 1080p HD. Human greed is one thing, but associating it with PC hardware is another. It's not like you're missing out on anything by not buying a GTX 680.
Everyone wants better graphics and performance, but there's no reason why you should feel bad because your card runs a game just fine at a resolution that's above anything else in the market. I'm not turning anything into PC vs Consoles, this is my thread afterall :P just saying that limiting yourself in terms of power is not the way to go.
