Like others have mentioned - one's userbase is around 17 million and the other is a million. Even looking at Ocarina of Time 3D in that regard, the numbers are pretty impressive considering the install base. That's roughly 15% of the audience that owns Ocarina of Time on the 3DS versus less than one percent of the audience that owns a PSP bought that game.

I can spin things negatively too ... lol.

Nintendo created an artificial sortage for Zelda Ocarina of Time to create hype. This article said that Nintendo shipped around 150,000 units to the country and this article said that it sold out in the entirety of Japan

1- Difference in user base

2- Its a remake

3- Danball Senki is LEVEL-5 game so no its a strong competitor

4- Zelda is not as big as you think in Japan its not at FF, DQ, MH, Mario, Pokemon level not even at MGS or GT level the best Zelda debut in Japan was around 400k thats around Yakuza Level of success.

And it seems that Ocarina 3D was not the game that made people ( at least in JP ) going nuts for the 3DS. I mean 9K more than the PSP this week is not that impressive !

To defend Zelda 3DS it came out on the 16th in Japan. And if you don't believe me http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oot_3DS just check the date. So didn't even have a full week for release so it wouldn't be fair to bash the game.

Lol, comparing these 2 games is absolutely pointless. Seeing as that the 3DS has only been on the market for a few months and therefore doesn't have a large userbase yet. The PSP has been out for years now and therefore more users that are able to buy it's games.

The last two DS games were refreshing and Skyward Swords seems to have addressed most of the issues regarding the Zelda series.

The game got second place is sales...and considering the first was a Level 5 PSP game, a platform with an install base 17x that of the 3DS, that is an accomplishment.

There was also a 70% increase in hardware sales. Jesus OOT is a fail:roll:

The game sold well and was a system seller no matter how you look at it :)
