Don't get me wrong, I'm very exicted for the PS4 and maybe the Xbox One once the price drops, but those systems don't really offer anything knew other than improved graphics.
The True Next Gen starts when Oculus Rift is released. I believe it will change gaming and immerse us to another level not really seen or experienced before.
You'll be part of the game not just looking at your TV screen pressing some buttons.
Do you guys agree?

But without a ps4 or a pc or a system to run on the rift is just an expensive paperweight because it doesnt actually do anything on its own. It has to be plugged into a device.
And yes it is cool but it isnt nextgen anymore than 3d is "next gen". The rift does look mighty cool but all it basically is, is just another way to view a game is all. Just standard definition went to HD, then HD went to 3d and now we have the rift, just another way of viewing the game. It doesnt actually do anything to improve a game, or create a new way to play games.
Besides, I dont want to move my head around to look around in a game. I also dont want to wear a helment to play a game either. Its a cool gimmick, but it goes on the drawer with the power glove, 3d effects, the kinect and uforce as another gimmick that is a good idea on paper.
You make some good points but I disagree on it doesn't do anything to improve a game. playing a horror game with a regular tv vs using the Oculus Rift will dramstically improve the game, the game will become more immersive and you'll be part of the game, same think for a racing game. I think if developers make games with the Oculus in mind, the game could be changed to take advantage of the technology.
