I don't see why anyone likes Halo in the first place. It has to be one of the most generic FPS ever made.MortalDecayKinda hard to be generic when it's one of the first modern FPS's (on consoles at least). If it's generic it's because of all the copy cats that have made the genre stale.

GS giving ODST a 9.0 just made them a lot less credible.
The average user score for the game is 8.3, that's coming from people that either played or own the game. There's a lot of negative comments about the game, people calling it a 60$ expansion pack, etc.
GS had to give this a 9, they must be getting paid by MS.
I think the question is how much did they over rate it. If it was a few hours longer and maybe added 6 new maps and had matchmaking in firefight it would be a nine. I think its an 8 though. Fun but over far too quick.
It's brilliant that you think a person having a different opinion than you means that they're getting paid on the side to like it.GS giving ODST a 9.0 just made them a lot less credible.

I got more out of the disc than Halo 3. :o most of it is from halo3, same engine, etc. just different map layouts and music. i downloaded more content for Unreal Tournement games, Half Life, etc for my PC than actual games, and it was all free... so that logic i got more out of the disk than halo 3 is logic on error mode. Then don't buy the game. Don't complain to me because I like it more than you do.[QUOTE="SpruceCaboose"][QUOTE="ZoomZoom2490"] i would agree if the game was $29.99ZoomZoom2490
i'm a lemming but i chose "Yes" it isnt a bad game but definitely not worth 9, especially if you take the price into account the short campaign and the lack of matchmaking for firefight should have limited the score to 8 maximum IMOin b4 anyone who chooses "Yes" is a cow, and anyone who chooses "No" is a lemming.
treedoor
wow its dead even lol. I love halo 3, but i feel like this game should have two different scores, for people who already had halo 3.. i feel like it was an 8. because I wasn't to crazy about the campaign, And firefight is really good but no matchmaking really hurts it because i can never get a match going with friends when I wanna play. But to people who never had halo 3 i think its a deal

Compared to Bioshock, Half-Life 2, L4D, etc. Halo is generic. At least those games have tried to innovate in the FPS genre.
I mean, Halo's multiplayer seems like it was lifted straight from Unreal Tournament. IMO, Halo is the one doing the copy cattin'
I voted yes, and I am far from a bitter fanboy. Try again. I guess you don't realize that there are people that really don't like Halo, and see it for what it really is.Bitter fanboys will of course vote "yes".

Yes. Many people don't realize this. Especially Lemmings.

That has nothing to do with what I said. I never said that bitter fanboys are the only ones who would vote "yes". "Try again"? The same to you, sir.

Now how exactly did Left 4 Dead innovate? Or Half-Life, besides the amazing physics engine and storytelling? Bioshock, absolutely, but Halo is innovative somewhat as well.GS giving ODST a 9.0 just made them a lot less credible.

No, I think its fantastic, and I gave it a 10(because Halo 3's online is awesomesauce(never owned a Halo game so no halo online before)). Cows will say yes though, and this poll will be a fail.bronxxbombersmeasure it by price to quality ratio.
I measure by how much fun I have with the game.
What exactly didn't you like about the game? What difficulty did you finish the game on?

Those kinds of reviews are hilarious. Fanboyism is funny.

L4D has the most innovative multiplayer I have seen in ages. I suggest you try it.Ehh...not really. IGN also gave it a 9 and GT gave it an 8.9, so it's not like GS was too far off or anything like that.
2 ODST threads in one day, TC?
Hmm, the cows like ODST more than lems do.
Interesting,
Anyways, no they didn't overrate it, but they certainly overrated some other title with an old dude who can hardly breath and has back problems.

But that old dude can still kick my a** though. You would say that as you're one of the biggest 360 fans here, even though you have a Ps3 and obviously like some of the games on the system. I've been here long enough to know which "side" you are on, it deffinitly is leaning way towards microsoft.2 ODST threads in one day, TC?

Wow, sticky is gone and the lame topics are back.
No, it isn't over-rated. There's so much new content that it's fully worth the $60. The only reason people are freaking out is because Bungie originally planned to make it a 2-hour expansion/sidemission and said it wouldn't be full-price. Now raging fanboys are (still) taking their angst out on videogames they've never touched. The campaign took me 8 and half hours to complete. Firefight is addictively awesome and the new Halo 3 maps are some of the best in the series. Plus, if you've never downloaded any of the map packs, that's like 12 new maps for you. (Which is the case for me).
The story-telling method is very unique and I've never seen it used in a game before (I don't know if it has been used before or not, just saying that I haven't seen it used yet). The Noir feel and open-city environment give off a moody and atmospheric feel that's never been had in Halo before.
This is NOT one of the greatest games of all time by any stretch of the imagination, but it's one of the best shooter released all year. It's all good stuff. Anyone who tells you it's the greatest shooter ever made is just making stuff up. Anyone who tells you it's over-rated is also just making stuff up. It's a superb package that's fun to play, what more do you need? The biggest problem it has for System Wars is that it's Halo and everyone knows PS3 fanboys are envious of Halo, afterall, it propelled the "Evil M$" or whatever BS people spout these days, into the gaming market. It's good. It's fun. It's worth $60. It's worthy of the 9.0.
