[QUOTE="MrNathanDrake"]So bored of the Halo series. Bungie should do sometihng new. BioShockOwnz
Halo Reach is the last Bungie developed Halo title. But if the next Bungie title is Xbox 360 exclusive, then I'd expect the same animosity towards it.
you can't say much here since you're one of the users here that thrashesps3 and it's exclusives the most. Speak of the devil!as for halo, I really don't care much for the franshise so I'll let the review come before saying it's an expansion or not. I don't like to fall for the hype of sw users that's all

I have talked up Noby Noby Boy, Uncharted 2, and multiple others. I used to bash Halo. That'd be a better comparison for this one.
You can't compare ODST to other full games like Modern warfare 2, Mass effect 2, Fallout 3. So it's a bloody expansion , I don't care how much they try and spin it. And I will not be paying full price for this half game.Nick_75_
Well, 2 of those games are RPG's, so why would anyone even try to compare the length? But the single player in ODST will be just as long as the single player in MW2, unless they tacked 4 or more hours onto the game than the original MW. ODST is the same length as MW, R2, Gears 1/2, etc.
of course it makes them proud they put in the least effort, and will receive a high return in sales

Least effort? Huh? This looks like the most ambitious Halo to date in terms of single player. It's completely different.
Do I need Halo 3 to play any certain part of ODST?
Mongo-Boss
Nope.
Then why is it being called an expansion? :?
If anything it sounds more like a spin-off
Can't wait to play this at my friends house :D

Cause that's what they meant for it to be, but then the package grew and became its own product. They should've cut out the 3, but whatever.
It was originally intended to be a stand-alone expansion (Like Crysis Warhead). Bungie and Microsoft have both realized that this is no longer an expansion but a full game now. (Which was a disappointing move, imo)Then why is it being called an expansion? :?

Edit: Damn you Bioshock. :P
Ten years on, and they've shown no sign of tiring of the universe, as the studio's Lars Bakken testifies; "I can tell you that the guys that did work on Halo 1, which is a decent chunk of the ODST team, they have all individually said to me that ODST is probably the game they're most proud of in their history there - so that should tell you something." - IGN -all dev teams say this about the last thing they have done because they want to hype it as much as possible so it will sell alot
"Over the course of development it got a lot bigger than we were anticipating," says Bakken. "We thought of it more as an expansion and then it grew well beyond that. We didn't really talk about it until E3 this year, and it's something internally that Microsoft saw and said; 'What are you talking about - this is a full game.'" - IGN translation: we know it was just an addon expansion, but MS told us we have to call it a full fledged game because it's their biggest title this year. That is why they have added all the map packs etc on to it

Wow, I can't wait for this game. It definitely interests me more than any other previous Halo's as it's more of an adventure that's more focused on exploration. That and the fact that it offers a different perspective and mood.

I wonder if you are going to keep saying that when they release a multiplat .Blah halo 3.5 confirmed just shows how much effort 360 developers put into games................which is none..........this looks like halo 3 but with new characters......but again they buy a broken console i shouldnt be surprised by now??

Ambitious, hardly all you do is switch roles between the Spartan marines. The game itself was originally price at 40 now its 60. I hardly doubt that the change in price is justifiable.[QUOTE="BioShockOwnz"][QUOTE="Rza_rectah"]

That's not "all you do". This is a completely different take on Halo and the most ambitous to date, as it's a "noir-style adventure" through the Halo world. You have missions where you play as different members, but that's only a small percentage of the main game.

It also started out as a bloody expansion but they soon realised they could pull the wool over Halo fanboys eyes and charge full price by throwing in all the old maps on a extra disk and adding a few play modes. Go ahead and say it's a full game, you're only fooling yourself. Bungie must love people like you.Nick_75_
If it comes out with a short campaign they you'll be right. But its not an expansion just simply by name. You can atleast acknowledge that developers can change, right? So if it comes out with a campaign that is equal in length to other full games then there will be enough content to call it a stand alone game, right?
Just because they change direction doesnt automatically mean they are pulling the wool over fanboys eyes as you put it. I mean jumping to that conclusion so quickly says to me you had already made your mind up.
