Yeah, EA conference is basically sucking and they are just like, wait for MS conference tomorrow for more details.

I'm looking forward to see what the new game Playground games is working on, everyone seems to have forgotten about that :(

@loe12k: they are having a big gaming event/party at Xbox Fanfest after the briefing. I imagine some of this will be streamed from there.

I didnt even goto the EA event its at the Palladium in Hollywood not at Staples Center and I didnt feel like driving over there thru Hollywood traffic, not worth it unless you arent from here and trying to take in everything. Didnt miss much probably I went last year. I was happy to see NBA Live back to form though thats great news.

The rest I can wait til they hit EA Access.

No, it won't be... $399 was always going to be a long shot. Everyone (in particular cows & the media) have got in their heads that if it isn't $399 then it's going to "fail", which is ridiculous. For what Scorpio is, and what it's packing, $449 or $499 was always going to be more realistic. This is a premium console, that isn't for everyone.

@Desmonic: I always leaned toward the highend especially when I thought it might have Ryzen. I set aside $700 for it when it was announced. I'm thinking 499 standard 1 TB HDD.

After the reveal, I was sure it would be $499. Spencer's language made it more obvious.

Why would it? It's a better system in literally every capacity, and not by a small amount either, it's better in not only its hardware but in the way it handles game software.

Scorpio has a clear market.

That all depends on how proportional the cost is, something no one knows. Proportionally given what we know a $100 cost premium would be completely within acceptable bounds and $150 would start pushing it out of that.

If it's 499, that right there will push it to niche market area. Something that Phil kind of hinted at when he said premium. We'll see though.

When he said premium he was talking about the system itself, and it is a premium console, but that doesn't necessarily reflect price.

It can simply mean of greater quality or superior.

You yourself said you think it would be 450, no? I'm not saying it's DoA like dude above, but don't you think the price will effect sales if it's an expensive console?

I think if it's $500 or below it won't at all affect sales, people are looking for a competent system for the 4K medium and this in the only one that appears to actually encompasses and deliver it properly.

I'm still going with $449.99.

Yes, however given what I said his implication could simply be seen as this is a premium device so of course it's going to cost more than what is around it, but that doesn't facilitate it as being expensive.

He also went onto to say that it wouldn't be priced so far from the Xbox One S that they would feel disconnected, and that just dropped in price to $250.

Well if that's true and going solely that, then $399 should be since Xbox One S just got dropped to $199

Who knows. Microsoft, could be spreading false rumors about the price, on the day spring a surprise 399$.. Price is going tobe between 399 and 499$ .. Above 500 it will not sell and Microsoft is aware of that.

I remember last year when the dummies were crying about the S being DOA. They've always positioned the Scorpio as a premium product and not as something that will replace the S, for now at least.

No one has said that Scorpio will replace the One S. Maybe by the time the next gen Xbox is released.

That Anthem teaser looked very intriguing, can't wait to see more of it tomorrow.

Wonder how soon after official reveal tomorrow scorpio will be available for pre-order. Don't wanna miss out on 1st shipment. Hopefully its not a conservative allotment per shipment wave where the second wave of systems is still just fulfilling the remainder of pre-orders that missed out on the launch shipment. Still fully confident its gonna be $399 and gonna sell out for the entire quarter.
