I'm 100% sure Uncharted will come out on top. I think Gears may sell more, maybe even score around the same just maybe a little higher, but it'll be all on hype. Cause Gears 2 got amazing reviews and everyone hated it. Reviewers seem to get overhyped on gears and not even truly review the game for what it is.
That being said, Uncharted will win where it matters most, the awards at the end of the year. After the hype has died down, awards are the true way to see who had the better game. ANd Uncharted will destroy Gears in awards. It's just a much higher quality game. It was not only the multiplayer that was beyond broken and terrible. The Single player had a terrible pace, much worse then the first game, the story was so cringe worthy, their attempt to put emotion into a game like gears was beyond dumb. That whole Maria thing just no... The boss fights were terrible. The game was just supremely overrated for a AAA franchise. I just have no faith in them honestly. And the MP did not get positive reviews, the MP wasn't even online when the reviews came out. They assumed the mp was great. Probably why the game was so overscored.

And it's been heavily criticised for a long time and by a lot of people included hardcore gears veterans. so you're judging whether a game is 'overscored' based on the quality of the other games released just that year? :|Which is even worst in the first one,which was a buggy mess online,and offline controls were sluggish unresponsive and slow,your squad AI was just plain dumb,enemies acted dumb from time to time as well,i don't even know how some sites even dare to rate it perfect even that they noted all the flaws the game had,i have see games been trow into the fire for smaller problems that the ones Gears of war had,let alone having so many problems combined,it was rated on graphics more than actual merits period,and the problems the game had like. 1)Poor Squad AI on a Squad shooter. 2)Cheap enemies which also acted dumb from time to time. 3)Glitchest were you would get stock in parts,unable to move,happen more often when you walked over the place where you threw a grenade. 4)Dom was useless practically getting more in your way than helping you,and would get stock in places and refuse to fallow you,leaving you fight alone when he is suppose to help you. 5)Online was laggy and broken even that it was just a 4 vs 4 game,which make me think that reviewers never played the game online. 6)By far one of the most horrible host advantages issues an online game could experience happen to this game,basically if you were the host and had a shotgun it was a massacre what happen to other players,very easy to notice when you shut the host and he was able to just turn around an shotgun you to hell,even when you well placed shots on him even with prefect reload.I'm 100% sure Uncharted will come out on top. I'm confused, did you miss the aprt where I played the game? How else would I know so much about it? This is my opinion, backed up by GEars veterans to back up my credibility. If 10 RPGS come out this year and are all amazing RPG's the standards for RPG's goes up, reviews take that into account... but Gears of War 2 released the same years as GTA4 and MGS4, both rated higher than it on Gamerankings and both which scored 10 here, the odds were those games would win more GOTY awards than Gears of War 2, how does that effect whether Gears of War 2 deserved its score? :| now look at the games that released the same year as Uncharted 2..........Just a way to prove Uncharted to didn't get some sort of free pass with reviews and reviews off hype cause they were backed up with awards later down the line. Is clear that Gears 2 faced some good games on 2008,but Uncharted 2,faced many great and popular ones as well including Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2,Forza 3,Batman Arkham Asylum,Street Fighter 4 and many other.
Playing through Gears 1 again now. Man I haven't played gears 2 yet, and it's been since late 06 early 07 since I've played it. I've only played it at friends' houses, and finally got it for myself. (Got the gears triple back for my birthday) and I plan on playing through 2 to get me ready for 3.
I've already played through Uncharted 1 and 2 plenty of times, so I'm well ready for Uncharted 3. But I might play through some of both and some U2 multiplayer anyways :)

dude. tell me one good boss in the ending of a game. uc1,2,infamous 2, bioshock, dead space 2, god of war? its the same thing in all of them. you pretty much run around, block, hide, attack and again the same thing...thats all the bosses in the ending...even through the game just some strategy and done...i cant think of 1 boss ending which was actually exciting and you couldnt predict anything and it was a long fight...

I've always been interested in the Gears story, especially after reading the books. Sure, it's not great, but it's not bad either. And where's the unpolished turd? Never seen Gears 2 like that.Uncharted's story is better though.
