ive yet to try the Beta (college work) what are the graphics like?
TintedEyes
Yes, it looks this good...
That's alot of blur. And I can see everything perfectly. Lots of blur can be done right too. This topic is locked from further discussion.
Agreed. It's a satisfying weapon. Bungie implemented it well, methinks.I'm a Needle Rifle fella myself, though the DMR is nice... it just doesn't have the pink "boom" that makes it awesome. ;)
Stevo_the_gamer
Sounds awesome :)[QUOTE="racing1750"][QUOTE="jg4xchamp"] big team objective type deal. Spartans vs Elites. At first the elites need to open something, and then they need to steal a core and take it to a phantom. The more phases into the match goes the more loadouts get unlocked, the more vehicles are found, the bigger the weapons get. It's a more progressive multiplayer mode. It looks like it will kick all kinds of ass :)PAL360

:D
Looks like a great mode. They should have put this in the beta to start imo.
Kind of reminds me of that one mode on Unreal 2k4 for pc.
I like it, but alot of balancing issues.
Pistol, grenades, and Rocket launcher are all overpowered (imo)
I hate the armour lock. People are always invisible, and run too fast. I wish that everyone had the same things and were no perks.
Needless to say it IS a fun beta. Spent alot of time playing with friends.

I don't know..........
Camo is pretty underpowered in my opinion.
Bungie increased the speed, as people were complaining (Jerks.), that it was too slow.
I think that Bungie did talk about the rocket spawn in Carnage Carnivale, and how it could be changed for the better in the actual build.
Also, there will be customisable loadouts, so in yourplaylist, in the actual game, you could change it so that there is only one loadout, with everyone the same.
lol really? Thats awesome ... but bad at the same time >.>Maybe this is old news but did anyone else read that Bungie's servers caught fire from all the activity yesterday?
Thats awesome. Well kind of.

Yeah. Not surprising though; over the weekend I never saw more than ~4000 players online, whereas when I fired the beta up yesterday there were about 160,000.

Saw 277k before i logged off.[QUOTE="D00nut"]One of my teammates did that. He dropped a flag to fight a guy off, so I grabbed it and dropped it into the circle (timer was low). He killed the guy, and runs to grab a flag from the circle so he can drop it outside the circle, and then put it back in (so he gets the points). The moron got killed doing this, so I killed the guy that killed him, and then dropped a second flag (courtesy of him) into the circle. +2 for mac. This is the first thing bungie have confirmed will be fixed before ship, which is good. :)Well no, what I meant was that when you drop the flags in your spot, no one on your team can move it, but the other team still can. It's just annoying when teammates pull stunts like removing the flags from your capture spot.

I'm not a fan of armour lock. Every time someone's used it i've died, which doesn't seem fair. Getting someone down to one-shot, having them pop armour lock on then dying yourself. It's because you have to wait around for an age for them to come out of it, which usually results in someone else taking you down while you wait. Also, it shouldn't be long enough to let your shields come back on.Ninja-HippoEvery ability has its advantages.
Yeah, they need a mercenary playlist (like call of duty) for people who are playing on their own. Maybe it will be in the final game.Only big problem with the game, matchmaking in beta sucks. I keep getting up against teams of 4 who are coordinated and destroy any pubbing team. It's just not fun.
I seem to only beable to play when I have a group of 4 as well.

That's been an issue with all of the Halo games in terms of matchmaking. If you try to do team oriented matches solo. You're going to get clobbered. People who play Halo religiously tend to have friends who play it religiously :POnly big problem with the game, matchmaking in beta sucks. I agree.
I need to play more to see how it pans out, but as of right now it seems like armor lock is a broken gameplay mechanic. Any of the other abilities you can still damage or kill your opponent when they activate, so they're tolerable. In my limited experience armor lock breaks the flow of the gameplay. Kinda lame imo.

Everytime ive came up against someone using the armour lock, its just been a case of waiting a few seconds, then rolling a frag under him and running off. The only time its annoying is when they keep using it every time you lunge at them with the sword, but i wouldn't call it unfair.Only big problem with the game, matchmaking in beta sucks. Maybe switching to "lone wolf" in your social settings will help? At the very least things should improve when Bungie opens up the Invasion playlist on Friday.
It is a pain-in-the-ass though, especially since you inevitably get a teamwork-heavy gamemode like Stockpile or Team SWAT. I played a game of one-flag where the other team didn't even make eye-contact with the flag -- they just ran around as though they were playing slayer.

wait wait wait. Team Swat is the easiest game on earth to actually get away with lone wolfing it :P Since it's all abbout headshots with the DMR it even works in your favor to be under manned. Less headshots for them to get, more for you to kill. It's one of the easiest modes where one player can dominate the other team. Ofcourse if you get a really kick ass team on the other side it won't help :PPistol, grenades, and Rocket launcher are all overpowered (imo)deathtarget04Disagree with pistol, it's pretty much impossible to kill a guy with one clip (assuming he has full health) from what I've played. On the topic of rocket launchers, I think they should just remove it from all non-vehicle maps. And I think nearly everyone is agreed the grenades are OP.
Here's a little list of things they need to change imho: - reduce the shotgun's power, or at least give it less ammo. - I like how deadly grenades are, but they need to reduce the default amount to 1, and maybe put less on the maps as well. There's way too much spam as it is. - slightly increase the DMR and needle rifles damage, and also increase ammo capacity by 1 or 2 - same goes with magnum - make the focus rifle overheat quicker That's all I can think of atm.angelkimneNo, So all your saying to to nruff everyweapon? Thats dumb, all weapons are very balanced and have their disadvantages.

I would have normally killed the guy and his teammate who was coming around the corner, but now both of them run off holding hands and giggling because of some cheap perk. It's like an invulnerable Last Stand that you can recover from.
Like I said before, it breaks the flow of gameplay, so as of right now I don't like it much. I like gunplay and flow, you know.

Maybe on Sword Base, but I've only played SWAT on Powerhouse, and it's way too open for a lone wolf to tackle a team. You can more-or-less lock down the entire map with three guys, so if your team isn't communicating you're going to get beaten like a red-headed stepchild (especially since the DMR has such a large accuracy-bloom -- if you miss your first shot things are pretty much a coin-flip).

I'm think most people will agree that the beta isn't as well balanced as it could be.The focus rifle requires aiming/zoom to be affective which means if you shoot them once, the aren't zoomed. The grenades are just as powerful as they are in Halo 3 but it takes a couple of more shots....big deal. Shotgun is a shotgun. amazin a close range.[QUOTE="angelkimne"]Here's a little list of things they need to change imho: - reduce the shotgun's power, or at least give it less ammo. - I like how deadly grenades are, but they need to reduce the default amount to 1, and maybe put less on the maps as well. Focus rifle is balanced on account of the big ****ing laserbeam pointing out your position. Grenades need to be powerful to avoid camping and stalemates -- Swordbase is cluster****y enough as-is (that said, the game needs to do a better job communicating where live grenades are). I haven't had any problems with the shotgun either, although I can see how Sprint+shotgun could cause issues.
The only major balance issues I have so far is the Assault rifle needs to do slightly more damage, Cloak needs to be slightly less visible while moving, and the DMR has too much accuracy bloom.
Everybody is complaining on how the grenades are overpowered and are able to kill you in a single explosion, yet nobody complaing about how that happens in Modern Warfare 2 or numerous other FPS games.
Now Halo has never been known for its Realism, and yes you play as a super soldier but here's the thing.
Halo 1-3 had you play as the SPARTAN-II John-117, aka Master Chief. Spartan-II's were bred to be able to handle anything that was thrown at them, in turn they had better survivability than anyone in the UNSC (Sarge was a Spartan-I, though that was never quite covered aside from the the Halo: Novel, the Cole Protocol and bits of the novel The Flood). Spartan-II's wore MUCH stronger armor than the Spartan-III's, allowing them to withstand more damage from enemy fire and explosions.
In Halo:Reach, a majority of Noble team are Spartan-III's, one is a Spartan-II. SPARTAN-III's wore armor that was less powerful than the SPARTAN-II's. SPARTAN-III's were bred for advanced recon warfare, built-in active-camo in their armor, faster but not stronger than the SPARTAN-II's. Grenade damage is fine in the sense of canon in the universe of Halo.
Just thought I'd put my 2 cents in.
[QUOTE="FatedX360"]That may be true, but what works in the game's mythology doesn't necessarily relate to balanced gameplay. I have confidence that they will balance it a little better. I do like how stickies are easy to attach to someone now. The balance and gameplay should always come before the lore that most Halo players know nothing about.Everybody is complaining on how the grenades are overpowered and are able to kill you in a single explosion, yet nobody complaing about how that happens in Modern Warfare 2 or numerous other FPS games.

I read halopedia and the armor Noble Team is wearing is a variant of the MJOLNIR mark V (i.e. Halo 1 armor).Everybody is complaining on how the grenades are overpowered and are able to kill you in a single explosion, yet nobody complaing about how that happens in Modern Warfare 2 or numerous other FPS games.

My biggest complaint is the removal of the Marathon and Tycho emblems.
Why, Bungie... WHY?!

Just wait for the campaign or more multiplayer maps. I'm sure they'll be in there somewhere.
