OFFICIAL November NPD: Ohh my 360 outsells PS3 by 110k, MW2 6m

One more time cows. This is an NPD thread.

Oh and rough estimates suck in comparison to numbers presented by the companies. Here are the facts. As of October 2009, MS has shipped/sold 34 million XBOX360 units. Sony has shipped/sold 27 million PS3 units. XBOX360 > PS3.

Keep trying cows.

I dont get what all the chest beating is about, if you factor in Japan/Europe/Australian sales the ps3 has outsold the 360 worldwide in November. And to sony/ms/nintendo a sale is a sale no matter what region it comes from.

seriously though if you look at the latest figures (taken weekly not monthly) from Media Create (japan) you will see that for the week of Nov 30 to Dec 6 the ps3 sold 57782 units and the 360 sold 5314. Now thats a 52468 difference, so lets round it down to 50000 a week which = 200,000 more ps3 consoles sold than the 360 each month in Japan which more than makes up the 110k advantage the 360 had over the ps3 in NA. Also considering Europe has started favouring the ps3 over the 360 (although just slightly) you dont have to be a rocket scientist to come to the conclusion that WORLDWIDE the ps3 is outselling the 360. Its all acedemic anyway as were arguing over 2nd place.

Very true. Of course this isn't a WW sales thread. It is an NPD thread.

And speaking of NPD, the 360 has out sold the PS3 by 500K this year. I'd say the 360 will most likely out sell the PS3 by 300K to 500K in December giving it a yearly lead over the PS3 by another near 1 million for the year and 8 million total.

As far as WW sales go, we will find out how much the PS3 has caught up to the 360, if at all, once Sony and MS release their shipping/sold numbers in January. Right now it is 34 million for the 360 and 27 million for the PS3.

I guess the 360 is still, and probably always will be, the place people go to for great multiplat games. Must be the price. Their are some AMAZING deals here in the uk.

£199 for an Elite, Gears of War 2, Halo ODST, Forza 3 and Fifa 10, compared to £240 for a PS3 and Fifa 10

Yep, I was thinking about that too, I'm from Brazil and mostly every 360 owner here has it hacked, because the games are extremely expensive. I bet a good portion of the banned consoles comes from here, and as the prices of imported consoles are very high too, only a few of them buy another 360, most just start playing on laggy xbox live alternatives.

I'm glad I took the other way, though and kept mine unhacked, altough games here cost at least 100 dollars after currency conversion :(

OK... I didn't say that VGchartz is anyway accurate... They're for a rough estimate... Made up numbers are numbers most likely that came from your end.

Its all about Call of Duty and XBL. Look at the sales difference in that category. People for some reason think that MW2 is played best on the 360 and all of their friends play on a 360 so they all gravitate to that console.

Key 360 drivers: $100 Xbox Arcade, MW2 Elite Bundle, Banned Users re-buying consoles.

So you care then? Thank you, all that I needed to know. I don'tdiscuss sales numbers with someone who has already made up their mind they are useless waste of time.
