NBA 2K9 sold well? That's a good game.

I'm surprised that none of the music games hit the top ten.

I like the fact that Wii Music flopped, that was the laziest attempt by Miyamoto ever, well, at least he still has my respect generally.

The Wii is worth the purchase.  It has many BIG NAME games that are already out.  What?  You expect people who are buying a new Wii to already have all its awesome games like SMG, MP3, No More Heroes, SSBB, Zelda, etc.?

Is there any proof to those Motorstorm numbers? I am just asking because I have not seen anything yet. If it is really that low then that is beyond sad. I mean 80K for a popular exclusive is crazy.Eltroz

I'm suprised Little Big Planet isn't selling better, must have horrible advertisement. Sony need to start showing what the've got a bit more, and do it well. Sony has allways had horrible advertising so mabye:

1. They need a significant price drop.

2. They need to make a big deal about it.

They really need to think about improving their advertising alot over the next year or so. They allready have the games and the solid hardware, now start selling it properly.

Then again, the reality is the game didn't need extra advertising...or it shouldn't have.  they used viral marketing in the form of beta code launches and web forums building testimonials towards the game.  

That should have been enough to sell a lot more than it did.  I don't know what to say about this...but I guarantee Sony execs ARE losing sleep over this development.  this is something that was not supposed happen.

It's definitely both the new games and the price cut. When the drop was announced, the haters went into a damage control rampage. Despite the fact that it's historically proven that $200 is the prime price point where consoles found their sales surge and gain momentum from there, somehow X360 would be the exception to this "rule".

They made all kinds of weak excuses; "Everybody who wanted a 360 already got one" (applied to every hot new game release too), "It has no good games except for shooters that even a $200 price tag will entice shoppers with", "Most people would rather wait for the PS3 price drop even if 360 is already there".... and on and on in went.

They tried to deny history and basic economics, but in the coming months they will be proven that their wishful thinking in no way impacts reality.

I'm loving the Wii and 360 fanboys in this thread. Sure the PS3 beat the crap out of us as far as quality games go, but at least our systems sold more than it this year!!!butteater86

Over 90% of the games on PS3 are shared with X360, and both have their selection of titles that aren't found on the other. Which all boils down to both having equal quality presence, but even more importantly, determining "the best" remains purely subjective, based on personal preference. In other words there IS NO"best", just which is right for you.

Which is also to say facebooker can't dispute PS3 has great games, nor that it's X360 which does have the best (Though I personally am enjoying the gaming selection it gives me).

too bad there are clear bests out there in video comparisons AdobeArtist :) and i think your 90% figure was pulled from some dark place i dare not travel to.

so no, not purely subjective, not a matter of preference, unless you prefer inferior multiplats and visual downgrades and having a AA Fallout 3 instead of AAA.

SOCOM is classic, but this SOCOM is regarded by nearly every SOCOM fan I know as the worst there has been. In fact, and I'm not lying here, my 3 mates that bought the PS3 version have gone back to playing the PS2 version.

I guess I just find it depressing that when Sony tries to push a new creative IP it gets drowned out by a mediocre shooter - just doesn't seem fair in my books.

How about the fact that Socom had like 18 days in October and LBP had 3? If anything, LBP did better because it only had a few days in the month. But it still doesn't account for those who bought Socom via PSN.
