do love how you ignored how you said I made up my moniker.
Um no it was plainly stated firewalls weren't used on every server its never been debunked except by I believe a neogaf user wasn'tit the same one that said the apache servers were uptodate? but hey It was a neogaf user since that is in there they are instantly correct and couldn't have spudged the data or been wrong certainly shouldn't believe the security expert that talked at the congressional talks he doesn't know crap but them neogaf users are infallable.
And sorry but there is no grey there is only black and white realists realize this grey is for those that cant handle the fact that there is either do or don't nothing gets done, and humanity dies when there is a grey zone. Psn was either secure or unsecure...in this case to the hackers it was completely unsecure which is why Sony has yet to guarantee nothing was taken have maintaind using the words may have, could have, and possibly but unlikely when it came to credit card data and is why they are offering this near 250 dollar package...though I do love this part as well that you keep maintaining I'm saying this package isn't up to snuff...yet i've not claimed this once...and I've already detailed what this package means...Desperation.

That seemed a trivial point. I'm aware you won the silly SW awards. It wasn't a neogaf user. It was a beyond3D user who gave an evidence-based conclusion that as at mid-March the majority of the servers were on Apache 2.2.17 the latest stable release, with a subset of unknown purpose all listed as RC and mirroring other servers that were on 2.2.15.
The security expert didn't have any firsthand info whatsoever, and says as much in his written testimony. He was repeating claims made in the media, which were based on old IRL chatlogs. If that's where you're saying it was plainly stated that there weren't firewalls and thus it was "CONFIRMED" then you're plainly wrong.
Neither the Beyond3D user or the IRC chatlogs offer anything conclusatory. While Sony have categorically stated that firewalls were in place and one can accept that or assume they're lying. The latter being no basis for any credible argument.
PSN wasn't secure enough. Nothing is secure enough to sufficiently skilled hackers.
Sony outlined their reasoning behind maintaining they do not believe credit data was accessed, but cannot categorically say that it wasn't taken. That doesn't mean it wasn't taken. But that certainly doesn't mean - as you keep trying to imply that it certainly was.
Oh I see, you're just trying to spin a company going above and beyond with recompense into a bad thing - that's not utterly stupid whatsoever.
The idea that one can't temper their reactions and that one must subject themselves to absolutes - yeah, not utterly stupid whatsoever either.
