We should all be pretty sure that the DLC will score a 9 but should it count in system wars?

Personally I would say no because its not a new game and it would only be fair that the DLC for Sony games also count (warhawk and MGS4)

I would count it as a downloadable title, but GS isn't going to review it, so this is kind of pointless.

Nope. No score, doesn't count. (Though I'm looking forward to playing it.)

Of course, not only is it exclusive content, but it adds 10-12 hours of gameplay, which some people pay 60 bucks for. I say yes it does count, it is a great addition, that is if you have an xbox 360. Not to tramp on sony fans, but if a game has more to offer on one console verusus the next, then yes I would consider that an element when purchasing which copy of the game I come home with.

What do you mean by "count"? It should count as an exclusive to the 360 just to get the Cows mad again.

I say yes, because of the length, and after playing it. It is pretty much a full game when you compare it to a lot of the other games that have come out and gotten counted.

Warhawk and MGS4 are both exclusive games, and the Bioshock content isnt that impressive. I am not counting the Mythic Map Pack for Halo 3 as "OMFG Exclusives" ...but, this is a considerable package...a full game even.

Then its even less, its DLC. System Wars has never counted DLC as a "game" dont see why it would start now.

people think that because of the size and content of it, it should be counted if it gets reviewed.

To be fair, I'm sure I've heard the Lost and the Damned referred to as an 'expansion pack' a countless amount of times. Expansion packs, like Burning Crusade, or Wrath of the Lich King have been scored, as well as other expansion packs to different titles.

Yeah but those are PS3 exclusives...the customer can only buy it on the PS3...its not a shared game like GTA. Its like this...lets say you have GTA PS3 and GTA 360, if you had both consoles...wouldn't you buy the one that is going to give you a choice for exclusive content...especially if you are a GTA fan. I have GTA3, Vice City and San Andreas for PS2. But when I heard the content for the 360 was exlcusive...well I bought the 360 version. See?

yes it should get some recognition, should it count as its own game no. if it would not muck up the whole system i would say half exclusive or some thing but that is dumb. any who seeing as this is a sony board it will be ignored in full

so what difference does it make that one is a multiplat and another is an exclusive? plus they're other factors into which version you would buy

because then people will want to count every little download on console as expansions when they are not. and is it an expansion? do you need to pay for it ? or does it come free if you already own the game?

Honestly, I'd say it's comparable to Braid or R&C: Quest for Booty. Good for comparing different Downloadable games, but not retail games IMO.

Warhawk and MGS4 had expansion packs? I don't see them here on GameSpot. You can't be referring to downloadable content.

That's what I was going to say.

Maps, weapons, and modes are to be expected. A new ten hour story mode is another game as far as I am concerned.

But I know it will be a well argued debate from either side. At the end of the day, it will be a reason to own a 360 for pontential customers despite what System Wars thinks (kinda like games that 360 shares with PC).

Both Braid and Wipeout HD are full games and it's really silly to even imply that they aren't. Warhawk also should count as a full game.

It really shouldn't matter where you get it from, if it has a beginning and end, it should be recognized as a full game.

The GTA DLC is not a full game and should not be counted. It's basically an expansion pack.

And a pretty good one at that.

Well if your going by that path (Warhawk & MGS DLC) then what's to stop me from saying there is so much more content attribuited with 360 games. But lets be smarter than that...THOSE ARE MAP PACKS...or an UPDATE to campaign...it is not an EXPANSION PACK...which adds way more content, and which is seen by Gamespot on most games (ie: Fable: Lost Chapters, Fear Files) as reviweable media. And all other major review sites reviewed it aswell. So I think the confusion here is that people can't tell the difference between regular DLC...and Expansion Packs.

So a horse armor pack is equivalent to a say a ten hour addition in overall gameplay? (Don't care what the games are or the systems, just answer the question)

Even if it were to get a score here (I doubt that'll happen), I don't see how it could be counted while still excluding XBLA, PSN, and WiiWare offerings.

Yes exactly, if you're going to count GTA IV DLC you might as well count the MGS4 DLC for LBP.

Should the results of this poll count? I mean most people can see that a certain higher amount of fanboys for one console hang out here than another. (Reguardless of console sales.) So I dont think this thread can decide it.

So if say.. Wrath of the Lich King, an expansion pack, was released exclusively on Steam it would no longer count as an AAAE for the PC? I haven't actually played Lost and Damned (and I don't plan to), but my understanding of what it contains is much more then simple DLC, like a map pack or new swimsuits. You also can purchase L&D at retail, in the form of a redeemable download code. None of this actually matters though, because Gamespot has stated they aren't reviewing it.

edit: Random note, Gamespot reviewed shivering isles (the oblivion expansion), that was available as an XBLM download.

Don't XBLA games get rated...yes they do, they are full games...not super next gen graphics...but full games. TLD is a full story, just like any other game.

[QUOTE="CaseyWegner"][QUOTE="Panther501"] warhawk for example adds new maps, weapons, modes, etc. same with MGS4. so if gamespot isn't going to review that content but they review the lost and the dammed, how would that be fair?Panther501

and what does the lost and the damned add?

what does it matter what it adds. its DLC just like the sony games.

That's your "57% cow" talking.

Thats like saying a racing game with a downloadable car is the same as what Rockstar is planning. They are both DLC...that one new car and this whole new story with new weapons, music, modes, characters, story, etc.
