[QUOTE="EVOLV3"]No, why would it? Its like Braid or Wipeout HD, its a downloadable game, they arent counted with full games.theharlemshake
To be fair, I'm sure I've heard the Lost and the Damned referred to as an 'expansion pack' a countless amount of times. Expansion packs, like Burning Crusade, or Wrath of the Lich King have been scored, as well as other expansion packs to different titles.

Its not an expansion pack though.. its DLC.

no. you told me in more detail what the sony dlc was and now you should do the same for this.

CaseyWegner

it adds more story, more mutliplayer modes, vehicles, weapons, etc.... anything grand master?

so it's a true expansion and not just some dlc? forgive me for wanting you to backup your statements. :?

what defines a true expansion pack? the upcoming expansion for Sins of the Solar Empire will only add new content and modes (no campaign or story) but thats being counted as a "true expansion pack"

[QUOTE="Panther501"][QUOTE="Cybiotik"]Why don't we bring Half Life into thise...remeber all the Episodes and Expansions? THey are counted...and are full games...6-8 hours...even less than TLD...(aamzing however ;)) But...they are still counted. If MAC and Windows bot received the games...but windows received the episodes exclusively...wouldnt that mean its the better version to buy..specially if you are a HL fan...I think the GTA content is still hurting in the sony fans' eyes. Cybiotik

but isn't a major content update considered an expansion, and arn't Omega Dawn and other DLC's major content updates. granted they arn't as big as TLD but at the time they were major expansions

Are you saying TLD isn't an Expansion of the GTA story? Really?

so are you saying omega dawn isn't an expansion to the multiplayer of warhawk?

Yeah true it is more of a whole new game in itself rather than an expansion.

No...its an epansion pack DElivered VIA download. DLC means Downloadable conent...that content can be anything...it can be horse armour...it can be an expansion pack...or it can be a full game. Its a service of delivery not the other way around.

Yeah but Expansion Packs need the original game to be played. This isnt the first case. :S And TLD can be purchased at retailers not just online.

Great question btw TC! Good things to argue about.

don't give me hypotheticals to backup your argument, but to answer your question if it can be played like a standalone game then sure (like Ratchet and Clank: quest for booty).

i'm not backing up my argument with a hypothetical. i'm finding out to what crazy extent you're willing to defend this. why is it so important if it's a stand alone or if it requires gta4 to play it?

because we don't count downloadable games or DLC as part of system wars, thus because TLD is not standalone and because it can only be downloaded, it then doesn't count in system wars. this is like arguing for a downloadable game to be counted as part of the official tally

if it was standalone and on a disc then it would count

just viewed the GT review of this and its more then your run of the mill patch or DLC, the game adds as much if not more then BF2 special ops exp. yea it should count as an expansion just like pc expansions do. new lead character whole new plot line and some added widgets and doodads.

its only the first of 2 DLC, if the second has as much content or even half it should be counted along side all exlcusives

the 10-12 hour single player alone is more then most games

by your logic it seems we should count Lost and the Damned as it was a normal DLC. Lost and the Damned is not a normal DLC, it is slated to be 10-15 hours. That is around how long some full games are.

Because then by using length and amount of content as a criteria then that means World of Warcraft patches should be counted as well as they provide more length and content.

But how are we gonna count it if there is no GS score?

I think it should be valid in "exclusive" count, but as far as score count... I dont think it can be "AAA" status since GS hasnt reviewed it. Unless we go by metacritic (if it's on there)... but then we have to question whether or not to use it more often.

Can you point me in the direction of these rules? Is there some sort of structured book of System Wars I've missed my 3 years on these boards? Some council who determines what these rules are that you somehow magically have knowledge of?

And no, by his logic, we wouldn't count all downloadable content - just games. However big or small, regardless if they require another game or not. It's the CONTENT portion of the phrase. :)

All that being said, I don't think we can count it because GS decided for some reason not to review it. Shame, really.

cows? Because since XBLA has Wayyyyyyyy more A-AAA games then PSN, it wouldnt benefit any cow arguments, hence no downloadable games count right?

Id like to know who exactly made and enforces these rules...........because if cows invented these rules.......then I think its safe to *****DISREGARD***** your rules.

Because PS3 is currently in last palce, and since when do the last place fanboys get to decide the rules???????? I think hermits/sheep/and lems have the right to overrule your rules that downloadable games shouldnt count.

because those are the rules. by your logic we should count all downloadable games. those games are still full games but they are only being released via DLC

count all downloadable content. However big or small, regardless if they require another game or not. It's the CONTENT portion of the phrase. :)

its that type of thinking that will truly eveolve SW from a rules sytem dictated by cows. I still dont understand how cows make the rules when they now hold the least amount of "power".

no more, we make a stand. From now on, we count GAMES, no matter how its delievered to us, no matter how big the file size is.

who made the rules?

I think hermits/sheep/and lems have the right to overrule your rules that downloadable games shouldnt count.

but hermits lemmings and sheep are still outnumbered here in SW

true.......but its extremely wrong for the last place fanboy to weild the most power.

I think this exclusive episodic content or DLC is just a console word for expansion. Once you played the Lost and Damned episode, you realize, wow, this is like a new game. But until GS reviews this thing, then it shouldn't count, but at the same time other sites that people bring up here reviewed it, so yeah.

cows are the most dominant fanboy on SW. For some bizare reason, every 360 vs PS3 poll greatly favors the PS3. That alone says cows are the majority.

And it also shows they make the rules as lems and sheep would LOVE to include downloadable games. But since PSN has the least A-AAA PSN games, they say "o, we dont count downloadable games" so they can escape ownage.

Same with 360/PC games. 360 exclusives combined with 360/PC games the 360 library slaughters the PS3 library. Cows cant have that now.........so they say "we only count exclusives".

I am tired opf cows rules running this place. They are last place and shouldnt be able to do this.

we lems would then be careful to stress that a 360/PC game isnt a MS exclusive but a 360 multiplat. We would only use it as a tool to combat the PS3 library as PS3 cant play those games.

Or that not everyone is Anti-PS3 like you.:|

Guess what, every group like to change games when it benefits them the most. Downloadable games didn't become a big deal to lems until Geometry Wars.

I'm not sure if you remember that period this gen when the PS3 had no AAAs, but lems gladly played the "Only exclusives count" card back then.

And this is the part where I face palm. So only the winner should argue then. I guess we should all throw in the towel now and let the Sheep run the show.

Can't remember if they reviewed HL2 episode 1 and 2, but if they did, then why not?

They could of sold it on a disc instead of a more convienent DLC and called it GTA4 Epilogue :P

Who cares. It's not a full game, it's only DLC, but it's great DLC thats not on other systems. It's in between, it's a tweener. Whether it's official or not, people will only bring it up when it's convenient, just like everything else...

Go check the "Should GTA DLC count on System Wars" thread. The lemmings are "winning". You'll be happy, lol.
