I have been watching this video over and over for the last hour. I think I am hypnotized lol. This game almost makes me want a 3DTV. I can only imagine what this game looks like in 3D, if this is what it looks like normally. I was watching an interview where they talked about how building the game ground up with 3D in mind makes the NORMAL game look better as well. I can see little design choices they made to get certain things to pop. The iceburgs, and when sev and rico are lying on the ground, they look like I could just reach out and touch them. We talk about games having CGI like graphics, but this game literally looks like a cgi movie you would go see in theaters. (srs)GG stepped up their game once again. Looks awesome.

This is the Gamescon build. It is newer and is the ALPHA build of the game. Everything you've seen prior to this past tuesday was the PRE-ALPHA build. It is noticably better. Hell, I couldnt even hold my jaw up from the PRE-alpha footage lol. Here is some more ALPHA footage from the oil rig part I posted yesterday: http://n4g.com/news/587084/gamescom-2010-killzone-3-singleplayer-gameplay-camI've seen that gattling gun scene so, so many times lol.
The multiplayer trailer got me hyped. New scopes, vehicles, sick graphics, new guns, looks awesome.

Honestly, from what we've seen, and from what GG has claimed to fix, I wouldn't expect anything lower than a 9.5 from Gamespot. If KZ2 got a 9 for being as awesome as it is, and KZ3 improves/adds so much more to the previous instalment, I see no reason for anything lower than a 9.5.
I love how the controls look to be so much more improved from the previous game. You can tell from the videos. I can't wait for KZ3's multiplayer. It even looks like the general laggy feel of the previous game is entirely gone (but we'll see).

The controls were the least of KZ's problems.

Same here :). Guerrilla are treating this like Naughty Dog did with Uncharted 2. Another great thing, is that they listen to just about everything the community says. They're even adding a "suggestions" section to the new website.

And this. They are making the controls more MW2 like (which is a good thing, because it suits a game like Killzone PERFECTLY). There really isnt anything people can say bad about the game really lol. -The controls are redone to appease the Modern Warfare newbs -The levels are 10 times the size of the largest KZ2 levels, with big open areas, so nobody can use the "tiny corridor rail shooter" arguement anymore. -The story is overhauled with holywood talent and production values -There is rumored 4 and 2 player coop (lets be real, there is absolutely no way this is not going to have coop. This was the biggest complaint. We should also expect splitscreen deathmatch) -There is more colors and level variety as well as gameplay variety My friends, we are on the brink of another Uncharted 2. 9.5 guarranteed. Most likely >95% @ gamerankings/metacriticHonestly, from what we've seen, and from what GG has claimed to fix, I wouldn't expect anything lower than a 9.5 from Gamespot. Man I love sony's family of developers. Dont you guys get it? EVERY ONE of sony's franchises is eventually going to be overhauled just like Uncharted and Killzone was. Look at Infamous 2, that game is being talked about the same way U2 was, THEN we have Motorstorm Apocalypse which is being called "the uncharted 2 of racing games". I fully expect Insomniac to do the same with Resistance 3, because Insomniac ALSO helped with both uncharted games, god of war 3, and Killzone 2 AND 3, so all 3 companies are going to give insomniac the same treatment. Sony has set a standard, and sony will not let their blockbuster games fall below it. Notice how there was KZ2, then Uncharted 2 destroyed it, then GOW3 surpasses THAT? and now KZ3? NEXT its going to be resistance 3, and uncharted 3. It also makes you wonder about sony delaying Socom 4.I seriously cannot fathom the visual of a lemming playing this game on an HDTV (or hell, a 3DTV).....and remaining a lemming afterwards. I simply cannot picture it happening. This game is going to get the Uncharted 2 treatment. GOTY awards like crazy, 9.5 @ gamespot, 95+ @ gamerankings& metacritic.TheMISCMan48
Sad part is, Lemmings won't be able to understand how great KZ3 will be until it scores the same as Halo: Reach, and even then, they'll just make excuses like: Cowspot conformed!
I fore-see the KZ3's campaign being just as generic and boring as the first.killab2oo5Here's a little poem for you :):

It surprises and concerns me that nobody brought up the fact that this video contains two german guys playing video games in a fake dirty bathroom.

I platinumed KZ2 for fun, so clearly there are people who thought the SP was very good. Considering KZ2 has some of the best enemy A.I., I'm conserned as to why people find it "generic". 1st-person cover system + constant action + amazing graphics/AI = good SP, imo.

lol no we'll just use the fact it will sell under 5 million, and its online space will be a literal ghost town within a year.[QUOTE="xYamatox"][QUOTE="TheMISCMan48"]I seriously cannot fathom the visual of a lemming playing this game on an HDTV (or hell, a 3DTV).....and remaining a lemming afterwards. if you mean best AI as in stay behind cover and camp...no, Or they will ignore you completely as you run at them with a knife like you just did to 5 of their teams mates within their view. Which is what I did in KZ2 on easy and normal playthrough.lol no we'll just use the fact it will sell under 5 million, and its online space will be a literal ghost town within a year.[QUOTE="WilliamRLBaker"][QUOTE="xYamatox"]

Sales are indicative of the quality of a game, you might like to think it doesn't but its true, people buy the game, or hear of its quality and get it. all so online users is indicative of its quality as well...since people will keep playing a game if its good. but then again you completely ignored that point and just made a generic comeback to my sales statement.[QUOTE="xYamatox"][QUOTE="WilliamRLBaker"] lol no we'll just use the fact it will sell under 5 million, and its online space will be a literal ghost town within a year.WilliamRLBaker

no...MW2 is a great game, Its single player is awesome, and while its multiplayer has problems it doesn't change the fact its fun. KZ2's multiplayer is a literal ghost town, and has been for a long while. P.S: one should not be able to go through a game's single player on easy and normal and only use his knife when they have the choice...that says bad AI. Answering with oh play it on hard means nothing, All hard means is that AI hits harder and has 100% accuracy. Good AI is where enemies flank, smartly throw grenades and try to get distance between you and them...unlike kz2 where enemies would constantly camp, ignore you and not even react to you often when you were within 2 feet of them.[QUOTE="xYamatox"][QUOTE="WilliamRLBaker"] Sales are indicative of the quality of a game, you might like to think it doesn't but its true, people buy the game, or hear of its quality and get it. all so online users is indicative of its quality as well...since people will keep playing a game if its good. but then again you completely ignored that point and just made a generic comeback to my sales statement.WilliamRLBaker

- Will flank if you are not paying attantion, or will distract you as others flank
- Will rush when you are open (surround you if there are multiple enemies)
- Will attack you as you reload
- Will take the nearest cover when fired apon (you call camping, I call commen sense)
- Will use rockets splash damage > trying to directly hit you with a slow moving missle
- WILL throw grenades if you bunker for too long
- I have seen a helghast play dead before
While the knife trick is abusable, every game has tactics that can be used to abuse the AI. No AI is perfect, but you are simply wrong if you think Killzone's AI isn't good.

Funny, everytime I put in my KZ2 disc and click on Warzone I get a whole list of games. The AI I fight against uses cover and throws grenades, they even run from my grenades. It's great that Sony is nice enough to make everybodies KZ2 copy different! :|
Seriously though, I see your point about the AI being exploitable by the knife but they are still pretty smart. The level design doesn't allow for them to flank you half the time and they do throw grenades. I agree about them not trying to keep their distance but you are playing on the easier modes, and unless you are abusing the knife like a noob, they have no need to keep their distance. Why would they do that when they can just shoot you in the face behind the cover they know how to use?
