What are you talking abnout man, the N64 had the best contoller ever..

Well I liked it... :(
It was made for three handed people! :cry:That's right, you show him! :PLol, totally just owned the dude xD dude, he didnt owned anyone...I said "if im not wrong" and then he said "i've been here since 2008" so yeah, I was wrong, I was confusing him with jasonguy. it seems you are biased against me[QUOTE="charizard1605"][QUOTE="Silverbond"]
I've been here since 2008, but I can't blame you for thinking I'm some mega-important poster.
I'm kind of a big deal.
I've been called a lemming, a sheep, and a cow. If it seems like I don't really care about what you think of me, it's because I don't.

Who designed that Virtual Boy controller? My mind breaks imagining how I would handle it.
The Wii has awful controllers. It took me 15 minutes of playing Super Smash before giving up on one of my favorite fighting game genres.
KristoffBrujah
You can just use a gamecube controller or classic controller you know.
When have they NOT been ergonomic? The only issue I've ever had with a Nintendo controller was when I recently (late 2009) bought myself a N64 and realized that my hands have grown a lot since the '90's and felt the controller was a little on the small side.
Just because the controllers are shaped in non-logical forms doesn't mean they aren't ergonomic. Ergonomics is about comfort, not aesthetics.
although I do hate nintendo (I hate a lot of things) this thread is not biased at all...ask any expert, or simply ask anyone if nintendo controllers are ergonomic...and I mean it, go ask an ergonomy expert what he thinks about them. and I can say the same for you...you are obviously a nintendo fanboy and your argument is biased against me. see how it doesnt work?Lol, I love how this guy obviously has some huge grudge against Nintendo. It's so obvious by his completely biased arguement, and it makes it hard to take it seriously

I agree the GCN controller looks uncomfortable when you look at it but when you put it in your hands it fits perfectly. When have they NOT been ergonomic? The N64 controller made sense because it was the fits Ambidextrous controller. You can play it left handed and right handed.
But some games only offered Right handed play because they used the A and B buttons.
One things for sure.. they've been a hell of a lot more ergonomic than Sony's controller (yeah, "controller"). Gamecube's controller is one of the most comfortable controllers out there.. only being beaten by 360's controller. I've also noticed that the Wiimote+nunchuck are much more comfortable than the Move+navigation controller.

No. It is not. If you want an ergonomic controller, try the 360 controller. The placement of the analogue sticks on the Dualshock is horrible. You CAN play comfortably with the Dualshock, but only if you hold it with your fingers only. You cannot hold the controller in the palm of your hands, and use the analogue sticks comfortably. You can hold the Gamecube controller and 360 controller in the palm of your hands and also use the analogue sticks comfortably.
Let me show you with a picture. This is holding the Dualshock in the "palm" of your hands:
If that man were to try and use the analogue sticks whilst holding it in that position, he would have to hove his thumbs uncomfortably far back. That's not ergonomic. Go ahead, prove me wrong. I can't hold the controller like that and use the analogue sticks. I hold it like most people do for it to be comfortable. It's hard to explain, but the handles rest on where the fingers branch out. That is the only way to use the analogue sticks comfortably. By doing this, you let the controller "breathe", and your thumbs are far enough back from the analogue stick to be able to use them comfortably.
Nintendo's controllers The NES & SNES and Gamecube. Were Alright. I never had any difficult with. The N64 was terrible to go back to after using Playstation controller and Xbox/Xbox 360 controllers. I don't remember the N64 being so uncomfortable in 1996-1999 but I got another N64 in 2008 and I couldn't understand how hard it was to use/hard on the hands. The Nintendo wii was difficult for me to make the transition to motion control with the wiimote. Never played the Virtual boy that controller looks uncomfortable.
Nintendo has certainly been innovative with controllers for it's gaming systems having a different type for each system. Never having the same controller for each generation of systems. (Sony has more or less had the same controller for PS1,PS2,PS3)
So for Nintendo's 6th home system the controller will be different but will it be ergonmic? Innovation at the expense of comfort.

this.
oh im sorry, did you think thats a crushing argument against me? it might had set the standards...but the other controllers are far better...you know when you set standards someone usually comes up and makes it better, and thats exactly what everyone else did, nintendo kept on giving designs for crappy controllers, and everyone else just corrected what was wrong with them and made something betterYou must have large hands. the Gamecube controller and Wiimote mesh perfectly with my hand
The rest though, I'll give you :P
Also, hard for the Wiimote to be a lame rip off when it was the ORIGINAL! :P
What the heck? Nintendo makes FANTASTIC controllers. The CIassic controller pro is the most comfortable dual-analog ive ever played with
a rip off can also mean something that was released before it was completly finished nintendo was planning to release a wiimote that would equal the precision of the wm+ since launch, but they didnt because they ran out of time and wanted to release their console fast. so yes, the standard wiimote is a rip offYou must have large hands. the Gamecube controller and Wiimote mesh perfectly with my hand

Relative to each generation they came out the Nintendo controllers have pretty much always been the most ergonomic (and we are talking about ergonomics here if you actually know what that properly is).
What the hell are you talking about OP?

Good Point. But even though not ergonomic, hold with your fingers is not uncomfortable. Still you pwned TC so............./Thread

The GC controller's default grip position beats both of those in terms of ergonomic design.
While some people might not like the controller (with it's silly bean buttons and only one Z button etc) it's still way more ergonomic than any of the other normal type controllers in it's default gripping position and it's handles are just so much more ergonomic and fit so much better with the shape of the palm.
In terms of pure ergonomics there hasn't been a better solution for a pack-in controller on a mainstream console yet.
excuse me the snes controller is the best one out, besides ps and gc ,
and wii is ok
nes was the only one i can say was un confortable and vb was a flop so dont mention it
besides
if you say the snes controller is awful then your saying the ps1 /2 controllers are to because all they did with t hose was added grips and 2 analog and 2 extra shoulder buttons the original ps1 controler before 98was actually based on the snes gamepad if you look at it you can see it is exactly the same as snes with handles added
uhm...I dont see what your point is...yeah, it might be the same but with handles...but the thing is: those handles change everythingexcuse me the snes controller is the best one out, besides ps and gc ,

Are you a little kid with average hands or have very little hands? Because I cannot see how you could hold a DS controller with your palms comfortably. A DS has to be hold mostly with the fingers and the palms have to be separated from the controller by the thumbs.
I have average hands, still, my brother and friends have huge hands and none have ever had problems with the controller
