i cannot believe this. i got my 360 wheel with force feedback + game for about 100$CDN.

i understand it has a gear shift... but omg, i can deal with wheel shifting any day considering that's what most professional drivers use. seriously... an extra gear shift and it costs nearly the price of a 40gig PS3 without the game?

the wheel isnt an official sony product its logitech.

Well it's a logitech controller that costs that much...it's not the "offcial" wheel just one of the GT5supported ones (can also be used for PC games like GTR)

the sticks IMO are perfect.

But hell there are 20-50$ wheels out there that work excellent on the PS3 via USB.

That wheel is sexy. I don't think most people realize that it's actually a reasonable, though upscale, price. It's a wheel that exists in PC gaming (for $265), I guess Logitech will just make a PS3-compatible version (or it might be the same).
