for one thing, it's moddable, the number of gameplay modes is always great, bigger and mroe powerful weapons, and faster paced action.

I think people are forgetting about Quake Wars...but it's not unearned.  The last Quake game flopped.  I've not seen a UT or Halo game flop, nor does it even seem to be a possibility.  My lord, I do love UT instagib matches.  I think I'm gonna play some rounds right now :D

I'm not trying to disagree with you or lecture you, I'm trying to make it clear to everyone reading this that this is NOT based on the crap that was Quake 4! G'day!

Quake 4 flopped and Quake 3 was defeated by....UT'99.  So, yeah...people have forgotten about the Quakes.  Unfortunate, really since the first two were so awesome.

It all comes down to preference because all three are essentially the same. Except each has it's own little personality. I think I might like Quake Wars the best. I could be wrong. UT3 may rock my world. Maybe even Halo 3 might interest me down the line. Who knows?

It all comes down to preference because all three are essentially the same. Except each has it's own little personality. I think I might like Quake Wars the best. I could be wrong. UT3 may rock my world. Maybe even Halo 3 might interest me down the line. Who knows?

I fully expect both UT3 and Halo 3 to be GODLY :D

They play too differently.  UT is far more fast paced, Halo is slower and has more gameplay mechanics to take advantage of. 

Personally, I thought UT2k4 was a let down and preferred Halo 2's MP far more.  And considering that Gamespot even gave MP GOTY to Halo 2 over UT2k4. 

Who knows, both will be great and I recommend that people stop this d*ck waving contest between the two and just play both of them when they come out.

I had Halo 2 for the Xbox..there are no mods, and I bet Halo 3 won't have any either...

Dont forget, everyone has Rockets on that mode where you have to stand in the circle! KING! god those servers made me sick, go in the circle ... get blown up instantly ... fun ... and the ALL SNIPER servers on Halo aswell -.-.-.-.-.- why cant people keep things fair damnit, those stupid 1 gun modes suck badly. (not just common to Halo, but i logged into Halo 1 PC and most of the 50 servers up had 1 gun modes...)

Its hard to choose cause there both really good games and also very different. But overall I go with halo 3 since halo overall got me more hooked on it.

Seriously No one can say Unreal Tournamet is better and say halo overated go to gamerankings.com the ratings over there say halo is overall the much better game if you go by ratings.

for me (on pc)....im still playing the first unreal with no online(broken)....

and i got bored of halo1 (online) after 2 week....

unreal 3 will be the best for fun... halo is to serious, the weapons are just boring

I think people are forgetting about Quake Wars...but it's not unearned. The last Quake game flopped. I've not seen a UT or Halo game flop, nor does it even seem to be a possibility. My lord, I do love UT instagib matches. I think I'm gonna play some rounds right now :D

Quake 4 flopped and Quake 3 was defeated by....UT'99. So, yeah...people have forgotten about the Quakes. Unfortunate, really since the first two were so awesome.

Actually it was the other way around in the e-sport department. Quake 3 got played all the way from 1999 to 2006 competitvely supported by the CPL, ESWC and turnaments as such, players who participated got around $5 million in cash (not a single one ofc - spread), while UT was being played majorly in online leagues for peanuts and titles (so did any future UT after 99, except there was one CPL UT2k4 tournament which I think fatal1ty won, an that was it). That being said, Quake 3 was a better game, had more players as UT'99 and still has. However UT'99 was a very nice game, and the best UT to date as most pro UT players will tell you.  

Quake 4 made by Raven is a total disaster tho, altho the multiplayer scene is still alive. Why Quake 4 sucks so bad multiplayer wise is because the Doom 3 engine sucks in that department, it's all shiny and nice presentation, but beyond it it's a very unstable code, which break the game. ID software is trying to fix their mistake, by releasing beta patches and really trying to bring Quake back to life, but I guess Quake 5 will be the only hope.

All in all to this day the Quake community is twice as big as the one of Unreal Tournament. 

But as this is Gamespot (casuals heaven) this probably doesn't really tell you much and you probably think I'm just pretending and spreading false information.
