Good. Cloud gaming is dumb as hell.

They laid off their viral marketing division.

he was so much a d bag, I always wondered how he was never banned[QUOTE="Goyoshi12"]It was in no way rady especially here in the us. We're just not infrastructured for itAn interesting idea with a very bad execution. Pehaps someday it could get better...but today is not that day.

I'm pretty sure the US has it better than 99% of nations here on Earth.

Yeah those guys are always the first to go. Poor Riku:lol:
Still, I can't help but feel a bit vidicate hearing that not only did Onlive go bankrupt, but they also had less than 2000 users at the time of their demise. That is absolutely pathetic, and I don't think we have to worry about cloud gaming making all our fancy hardware obsolete any time soon. Internet speeds in the US are way too slow for cloud gaming to work, and without the backing of the US market, cloud gaming cannot replace traditional local gaming.
oh sh1t me and the troll agree on something, what the fvck is going on hereGood! Let it to die harder! Pour some petrol on it and let it burn harder!

Looks like they were purchased by someone.
I hope it's Microsoft.

Why would Microsoft buy Onlive when MS already has stream infrastructure from MS Skype and MS RemoteFX (latest RDP)?

MS RemoteFX could be expanded for Xbox Live.
Hermits are desperate, they know their gaming rig will become obsolete.
Prepare for cloud gaming haters

[QUOTE="SKaREO"]I don't understand why people hate innovation so much... ?DaBrainzI think they are mad because their parents would not buy them a fast enough internet connection. Yeah, I'm pretty mad that I have to play games at 1080p max settings with no input lag, instead of 720p with muddy textures and 50ms+ input lag.
[QUOTE="SKaREO"]I don't understand why people hate innovation so much... ?C_RuleIf I was to market a car with square tires and call it innovation, you'd be all for it? Or a battery charger that could only charge it's own internal batteries. I think the problem nowadays is, people look at anything, and say it's innovative, even when it's totally useless. Like Windows 8.
It was a solid idea but a very poor business model. The cloud is supposed to drive down cost of production. Nope games still cost the same and looked barely on par with consoles. The world may be ready for streaming music and viedo. But there is little to no feedback sent by the end user. The interenet is not good enough at the current stage for cloud gaming to work.
If all of you are wondering. The Last System Wars Heard from Rikusaki was from THIS THREAD explaining that HE GOT BORED OF ONLIVE.

It's an alternative for people who travel a lot, so they can play their games from anywhere in the world, even on a smartphone. The problem is not with OnLive's service as much as the infrastructure available. Bandwidth restrictions pose too much risk for a cloud streaming service. Maybe in 10 years when your smartphone gets 1 gigabit wireless Internet access, cloud will become more popular. Cloud based gaming is the future, there's no doubt about that. We're just not ready for it yet.

We'll see...
If you're right, and other options stop being availible on the market, that will be my cue to quit gaming and find another hobby (or at least switch the focus on "retro" games I missed over the years)...

Nah you don't get it, not everybody can afford that (i.e. consolites). I spent a short itme with onlive comparing Bioshock on my gaming PC, xbox 360 and onlive. Nothing can replace my PC, I am an RTS addict BTW. However, IMO onlive should of made consoles obsolete. You can spend $100 for an onlive console and have a system that out performes the 360 and PS3.
