I don't have the game myself since I hate counterstrike, but Total Biscuit's videos make it out to be different enough to be worth $15. From what I have saw the game feels more like an expansion instead of a sequel and is priced as such.

[QUOTE="finalstar2007"][QUOTE="Miroku32"] For $15 I get not only the classic mode but also 2 new gamemodes plus a casual classic mode but that's not all, we also get zombie mod, zombie escape, surf mod and many other mods. And just for $15.
I rest my case. Nanomage
all that in the new counter strike? very nice.. i bought the new counter strike tho for $12 from PSN but havent downloaded it yet due to the internet bandwidth -_-
i hear its just 5 VS 5 tho unlike CoD where u can go beyond that number so just sayin :P.. cant compare this $15 to to a $60 since CoD offers so much more for that $60
5v5 is a console limitation, there´s plenty of servers already on the PC with over 30 players. ya i saw a server earlier that had supported 50 players[QUOTE="parkurtommo"]Yes, but Valve is pretty much godlike to hermits and can do no wrong because they created Steam. And Activision (Call of Duty), Ubisoft (Assasin's Creed), etc.

Yes, renting games forever for a quarter of the price they retailer at. Gabe Newell should be tar and feathered... And what benefit do you get by owning the physical copy of the game? Being able to sell it? What if you have an urge to go back and play a game you sold? And I don't think we have to worry about Valve going bankrupt anytime soon since their profit margins have been growing on a year to year basis and Gabe Newell is a billionaire because of it.I think that Gabe Newell is the most arrogant in the game company. So Ive been "renting" Half Life 2 since 2004? Seems like kind of a long time to be renting something.
And BTW, look at the EULA at any console software...you may be surprisised at what you see...

I only care about playing games, which Steam allows me to do for much cheaper than I would be able to do on consoles. I have around 130 games on Steam and on average have spent around $8 per title. If I were to buy that many games on consoles it would cost me several thousands of dollars. And valve has already stated that in the event of them goin bankrupt they could make it so all the games people bought are still playable.[QUOTE="sonic1564"]

The game is tons different. The gameplay FEELS different (Like L4D), the graphics look like L4D, several of the models look like L4D models.
I am kind of disappointed with it. But considering it is $15 and wasn't even developed by Valve, I think it is pretty good. I will certianly get my moneys worth out of it.
So it's the first CS game in 8 years and costs the same price as a CoD map pack.
How is that milking it?
So they basically did what Activision, Ubisoft etc. do....except they charge only $15. I'll take it.CSS with a new user interface, Counter Striker Global Offensive.
People say Activision is bad with their milking of CoD, atleast they had changes which each iteration.

So, Valve releases a updated CS after EIGHT YEARS with new maps, modes, more weapons, and better graphics, for $15 dollars, yet Activision does the same thing every year for $60 with less new content? Yeah, Valve sure is milking CS. It's not like there have only been 3 iterations in 13 years or anything. Oh....Wait..... Meanwhile Cod started in 2003 and has over 10 games. Get the F*** out with your idiotic logic. I'm no Valve fanboy, hell I HATE Team Fortress, but to say that Valve is milking CS by updating it after 8 years for $15 is appallingly stupid.
Is $15
Has a few new features
New Maps
Updated graphics significantly
Been 8 years since last CS
Will be supported by Valve as always
[QUOTE="finalstar2007"]Yes, it's pretty sad how things work here. You seem to be conveniently skipping over the point that many posters have already made; it's cheap, it's been 8 years since the last release, and it DOES change some aspects significantly (for better or worse).Well of course, if its CoD its bad but anything else is angelic.
Zlychop
IDK about any of that, but I bought it and it's quickly becoming one of my favorite multiplayer games! I like it a lot.
There is no reason why the graphics shouldn't be much better, some more advanced physics and destruction (not overdone) would have been good additions as well.ZlychopPhysics and destruction would add absolutely nothing to Counter Strike. This isn't a game about either of those things, it's about sharp shooting, outright brutal combat and being tactical as well as refined competitive play. Those would get in the way out it. Better visuals would be pretty but this is Counter Strike we are talking about. Not bloomshooter-mangunthemdown-killstreaksskrillex2012.

The last CS game was 8 years ago.
This is an improvment from the last, and its one hell of an improvment, and its cheap. This is not ment to be CS2, but a much needed improvment.
How the **** is releasing a sequal 8 years later, at a budget price with many improvments is milking?
Get away with what? Releasing a new improved CS after 8 years, thats ment to appeal to cs1.6, source and new players?
Its not CS2, even Valve said that, but a much needed improvment. Well worth the money, cheaper than a COD map pack, a much better game than COD, and mods!!
[QUOTE="Ravensmash"][QUOTE="Zlychop"] There is no reason why the graphics shouldn't be much better, some more advanced physics and destruction (not overdone) would have been good additions as well.ZlychopWhy would CS have destruction? Heck, why would it need advanced physics? It's called a successor, meaning it should enhance what is already there. Logical enhancements would be more advanced everything than what was possible before.
CS:Go isn't the successor to CS:S or 1.6. Valve has said from the start that this isn't Counter-Strike 2, just another iteration of the same game. Also they listened to the fans when it came to the physics. The physics in CS:S were hated by a lot of the gamers that loved 1.6.
Now I'm not defending CS:GO, because I don't care for the game. When i want to play counter-strike, I play 1.6, always have probably always will.
IMO, this is going to be the last game Valve is going to release on the Source engine. With all of their major titles, they want their successors to be ground-breaking (at least I would). Which is why Valve has said HL3 isn't coming out until 2015 and that they are working on Source 2. This way they can make Counter-Strike 2, HL3, Left4Dead3, Portal 3, etc on their new engine. Which I believe means we won't see another Valve game released until 2015, especially with all the community based projects they are working on.
