In the latest issue of Official Playstation Magazine, a new, unannounced horror sequel is teased in the 'Next Month' section. What could it be?

Are those tentacles coming out of a gas mask? What are those letters on the top of the creature's head? Why the odd, view obstructing grill? After sending the picture to forensics, we've discovered that the game is Dead Space 2.

How?

Well, after a quick search for Dead Space Concept Art, here's what came up: Recognize The Mask? That means you can expect the first info and screenshots next month, in Issue 40.

Issue 39 is out now, and the picture is after the jump.

So I take it we're back in control of Isaac again judging by the foreground? Man that new necromorph looks sweet. Hopefully they expand on the first since it was a very good game.

only when assuming that he doesnt actually die when he gets attacked at the end of Dead Space is that possible.

I haven't even picked up the first Dead Space yet, although it's very close to the top of my list of games to purchase still. I'll probably hop into Dead Space next week.

Its so worth it!!! DS flew under the radar of a lot of people, I wasn't to keen on it until my buddy on PSN kept hyping it. Long story short I'm glad I played it.

It didn't really fly under my radar, because I was hyped about it from the day it came out. I'm just the kind of person who waits for the games to get significant price drops before I pick them up most of the time. Dead Space was an unfortunate casualty of this policy; I could have picked it up on day one, but I decided that I wanted to wait out and get Fable 2 on release day instead. So Dead Space got sacrificed until it got some price drops.

Thats understandable we all can't go out and buy every game that we want on day one.

I've heard a lot of people hyping up Dead Space to be the best new IP of this generation. I wonder if it really lives up to this title.

So, since we're in the neighborhood, I have a question for people who have the first Dead Space: Xbox 360 or PS3 version?

Edit: As in, which one would you recommend?

Thats just it we have no idea if he was actually attacked by a necromorph or if that was just ahallucinationfrom what can be described as a not-so-stable mind. But I can't wait I loved the first one and played through almost 4 times.

Love the gameplay, story, and characters. Can't wait for more Dead Space!!!

I beat the original twice on two PSN accounts... or I would have the plat by now. The game is just so engrossing and so good! Even Extraction is excellent. Lets hope the franchise carries on with its winning streak!

That new necromorph looks awesome :D
I was under the impression it was the Necromorph of Nicole which attacked him at the end
I love Dead Space aswell. I've finished it so many times and got the platinum trophy aswell.

You're in for a real treat, then - Dead Space was one of the best games of last year. Crank up the surround and kill the lights. Oh, and don't play the demo beforehand.

Yeah, it's very unlikely that Nicole was on on that ship. I think that in the end Isaac was getting a little crazy, which would make him starring Dead Space 2 EPIC :D (kinda like the sanity in Eternal Darkness). Can't wait for more info (w00t w00t).

It would make the game so much better if we are playing a issac again that is seeing things, could you imagine the insane stuff they could trick us with and the way the could twist the plot around us, it would be a very nice thing if issac does survive and was only having a wacko moment at the end because I could just imagine all the things they could do with it.

Yeah, done right, we could have the successor of Eternal Darkness, with some of the best TP combat gameplay this gen. It would be insane.

Actually no. I played both versions. EA does an amazing job with multiplats. Mirrors edge, Dead Space, Dragon age. Also sick new necromorph, def will pick this up.

get the PS3 version it has less loading times, looks better overall with more colors and depth, also of course you get it on a Blu-Ray Disc.

Getting it on a blu-ray has absolutely no correlation with the full game. I mean seriously? Getting it on a blu-ray instantly makes it better?

oh i just mentioned that for longevity, the bluray discs are scratch resistance, if someone offered me a scratch resistance disc over once that gets scratched as soon as i put it in a console, i would take blu-ray any day.

Getting it on a blu-ray has absolutely no correlation with the full game. I mean seriously? Getting it on a blu-ray instantly makes it better?Animal-Mother
oh i just mentioned that for longevity, the bluray discs are scratch resistance, if someone offered me a scratch resistance disc over once that gets scratched as soon as i put it in a console, i would take blu-ray any day.

thats just one game, u know i own almost 40 ps3 games on clean blu-ray discs and not a single one has a scratch thank God.

So, since we're in the neighborhood, I have a question for people who have the first Dead Space: Xbox 360 or PS3 version?

Edit: As in, which one would you recommend?

Both versions look basicly the same but better get the 360 version....it have better and smooth framerate.

get the PS3 version it has less loading times, looks better overall with more colors and depth, also of course you get it on a Blu-Ray Disc.

I don't know if you know....but if i install the game on the 360 HDD the load times are the same. And the PS3 version have problematic framerate and the game look more sharp on the 360.All the multiplatfor games look and play better on the 360.
