OPM reveals Dead Space 2

In the latest issue of Official Playstation Magazine, a new, unannounced horror sequel is teased in the 'Next Month' section. What could it be?

Are those tentacles coming out of a gas mask? What are those letters on the top of the creature's head? Why the odd, view obstructing grill? After sending the picture to forensics, we've discovered that the game is Dead Space 2.

How?

Well, after a quick search for Dead Space Concept Art, here's what came up: Recognize The Mask? That means you can expect the first info and screenshots next month, in Issue 40.

Issue 39 is out now, and the picture is after the jump.

So I take it we're back in control of Isaac again judging by the foreground? Man that new necromorph looks sweet. Hopefully they expand on the first since it was a very good game.

Sweet, one of the best IPs this gen.

I haven't even picked up the first Dead Space yet, although it's very close to the top of my list of games to purchase still. I'll probably hop into Dead Space next week.jalexbrown

im playing it right now my first time.

*spoilers*

im kinda stuck on a lab with the regen creature on hard mode. the enemies are all over the place with that thing. Very challenging game and spooky. :D

So, since we're in the neighborhood, I have a question for people who have the first Dead Space: Xbox 360 or PS3 version?

Edit: As in, which one would you recommend?

I think both the 360 and PS3 versions are basicly the same.

Thats just it we have no idea if he was actually attacked by a necromorph or if that was just ahallucinationfrom what can be described as a not-so-stable mind. But I can't wait I loved the first one and played through almost 4 times.

Love the gameplay, story, and characters. Can't wait for more Dead Space!!!

Its a great entry into the survival horror genra which has been kinda lacking this gen. All I can think of is siren. condemened 1 could proboly count but im not sure. Even SH:H.

I beat the original twice on two PSN accounts... or I would have the plat by now. The game is just so engrossing and so good! Even Extraction is excellent. Lets hope the franchise carries on with its winning streak!

All i have to say is,I hope they set it on a planet so we can get different enviroments instead of just being set on 1 ship.

It would make the game so much better if we are playing a issac again that is seeing things, could you imagine the insane stuff they could trick us with and the way the could twist the plot around us, it would be a very nice thing if issac does survive and was only having a wacko moment at the end because I could just imagine all the things they could do with it.
