With The Orange Box out on both the PC and the Xbox 360, it's worth noting that there are a handful of differences between them, but it's hard to go wrong with either version. For starters, the PC version is $10 cheaper and, provided that you have modern hardware, it also looks better than the Xbox 360 version. The 360 version doesn't run as smoothly, though its frame rate is hardly a problem, either.

Lol @ the bold. ~3+ year old engine and it still looks worse and runs worse? Jeez.

So, 5 games for the price of one doesn't get a 10...

Nothing stands a chance at a 10.

If this game didn't get a score of at least 9.5 it would have been an absolute travesty.

I can't put Ep2/TF2/Portal down. This is hands down the best package of the year. For people that haven't played Half Life before, now they can get a better understanding of why it's the BEST FPS series of all time.

plz stop this "omg, 5 games value" crap... its not 5 games.

its 1 4 year old game with its expantions, and no multiplayer, that can be finished in 15 hours, plus a team based mutiplayer only game, that is too lacking in content to stand on its own, and a two hour tech demo for the hl2 game engine.

nothing more really then a collectors edtion repackaging. at least they threw in tf2 so it has at least some kind of replay value for 60 buck, as limited as the maps and modes are in tf2.

umm.... Valve cranked up the graphics on the Source engine for all the versions, and since the PC has access to some serious hardware, its only plausible.... Valve updates their engine all the time. Thats not a new thing. Episode 1 was improved greatly over HL2, and Episode 2 appears to be improved greatly over Episode 1. Don't just push off the Source engine as a 3 year old engine...

Still the best on PC, come on everyone knows this game is meant to be played on the PC. Plus you can pick it up at CC this week for the PC for $38, instead of paying $60 for the console version.

Have you played TF2??? If you haven't than you have no room to talk. Having actually played TF2, I would have gladly payed $50 for that one game alone. And Portal is an innovative experience even if it is short. HL2, which while it may be 3 years old, is still easily among the greatest games of all time. It has aged so well infact, that playing through it for my 6th time was just as good as the first. This is because Valve created a game that is yet to be matched in a 3 year period in terms of storytelling and connection to the characters within the game. It really does draw out emotions. Episode 1 was a bit short, but Episode 2 has been said by NUMEROUS review sources to have THE BEST FINAL Battle in a game EVER.

It gets the score it deserves, good show. Im glad Half-Life is getting the respect it deserves. I, unfortunity dont have a computer that can handle the touched up Source Engine, I can barely play Half-Life 2.

But I will get it when I get PC. 9.5 is the score it deserves, im so glad Gamespot gave it that.

Yes, and no. You will be confused for awhile, and wont get some of the inside jokes and stuff. But its not hugely story based, at least for HL2, I dont know about the Episodes, I think they have more story to them.

If you get HL2 GoTY edition, you get HL2, CSS, and Half-Life 1, thats a good deal.

But id go for Orange Box if you have a comp to play it or a 360, or in a month, PS3.

logically, if they're so casual, they wouldn't be in here, no?
