Out of all the BIG games coming out this holiday, which one will flop?

If uncharted 3 flops on gs, thats the same day the world ends

They may have been the most critically and commercially successful, however, at the same time it is rumored Bethesda manipulated reviews to some extent, reviewers were for instance not allowed to enter oblivion gates. I even heard they were trying to shut down a certain review. Ask any PC gaming community what is their favorite and least favorite, the most popular Fallout will be Fallout 1 or 2. While the most hated will be Fallout 3 or Brotherhood of Steel.

Gears wont flop, because it is gears and because of its hype. Skyward sword dephends entirely on how well made the combat is. However I am liking a lot of what I am hearing about it, such as less linear dungeons.

Must have worded that wrong, anyway. It wont do badly because I doubt most reviewers have the guts to score it lower than 9.0 (which the hype level will most likely be at). Hype can influense scores.

I really don't know. I'll just take a guess and say Uncharted 3 or Skyward Sword.

All of those games listed have big shoes to fill, I'm curious to see how they do.

Probably Uncharted 3. I think it will be the best game out of those listed and still get ripped by the reviewer.

It's weird but I feel the same. As great as the games were Skyrim needs to be really careful in delivering a solid product that is actually GOLD before it gets published. Fallout 3 and NV deserve their success but need to be NAILED for their shoddy coding. NV got so bad that is became unplayable for me and literally crashed my PS3, fallout 3 almost the same, I barely could go more than 15 min without it crashing.

New engine, new code, new game; it's up to journalists to drag that elephant out into the room if it were to appear again. To not ding it only lowers the bar and makes it okay to releasing unfinished products.

I say Uncharted 3 because the people have hyped that series like it was the second coming of Jesus and it seems likethe Beta is having a lot of problems.

agreed, oblivion was full of bugs, but when you make your game as big as that with so many variables and options for the player, it must be nigh impossible to iron everything completely free of wrinkles.

World of Warcraft has not only a bigger map than Oblivion, but it is also more polished and MUCH less copy paste. After exploring the same damn dungeon over and over again, I gave up on Oblivion.

I did not hate Oblivion because of its bugs, I hated it because of its design choices, poor AI, garbage combat (Mount and Blade Beta came out same year, and it was leagues ahead of Oblivion in combat mechanics, it also lets you inflence the world), weak sandbox elements, awful writing, lack of depth and challange as well as weak quest design.

The worst level scalling I have ever seen, copy paste map design, awkward character creation system, awful level up system that punished you for not moderating your training, weak speechcraft system, being able to join every guild are examples of poor design. Oh, and being able to outrun your horse.

i accept what you are saying, i can totally understand, i felt strange joining the Dark brotherhood, whilst working for the thieves guild and the fighters guild.

but i am not a gamer who will play through an RPG more than once just to experience everything it offers. i find that lessens my enjoyment and makes my characters story and interactions with the characters more like a game than an experience.

basically i dont replay because i want to keep my memories of the experience rather than see 15 different ways it could play out. but thats just me, hope i have explained myself clearly there..

I am one of those gamers who is not fond of being able to do everything in a single playthrough for RPGs. We will just have to agree to disagree :)

Either Skyward Sword or Uncharted 3. I just have a hunch both will get AA.

Everyone here will predict it to score low but then it will score high as usual as CoD is actually a good series.

There are several betas that are enjoyable. However, Uncharted has always been more of a single player experience. But as it stands, the multiplayer thus far is extremely disappointing, me and my friend had more fun pointing out its flaws than actually playing it.

Deus Ex will flop, sadly, because PC gaming is kinda dying.

UC3 will do well.

Gears will do better (but will be a worse game in every way because it already is.)

Skyrim will do well among RPG whores, but the general public won't care about anything but shooters.
