[QUOTE="TheAnnihilation"][QUOTE="shadow_hosi"]is this a joke topic? Starcraft 2 will shatter halo 3's recordshadow_hosi
No, I don't think so. :o
then you are wrongI know; let me be more correct:
StarCraft II won't come close, really.

then you are wrong[QUOTE="blue_hazy_basic"]Starcraft 2's Korean sales alone will be greater than GOW3's total sales :P (j/k but they will be HUGE)KingTuttleYou shouldn't be kidding...its true. SC2 will sell more units in SK than worldwide sales of GOW3. It's the national sport there. Not sure what the piracy ratio is there though and how it will be countered. Do you really think Korea alone can outsell GOW3 worldwide total lifetime sales?

So I think Starcraft 2 South Korean sales could surpass GoW 3 worldwide sales (assuming starcraft 2 is as competitively popular as the original )

[QUOTE="AnnoyedDragon"]Is GOW III a countries national sport? The highest seller is obvious here.TheAnnihilation
It doesn't have to be it in order to do it. I don't remember The Sims being it, or GTA or something else... :)
Starcraft has sold over 11 million copies in its history. No GTA game has done that on one platform, IIRC. Sims is different, though :P[QUOTE="TheAnnihilation"][QUOTE="AnnoyedDragon"]Is GOW III a countries national sport? The highest seller is obvious here.thepwninator

[QUOTE="violent_spinal"][QUOTE="shadow_hosi"] then you are wrongshadow_hosi
If you're referring to me, I didn't really say that. I did not pick God of War III.
Starcraft 2 has the entire South Korean population--even the babies. Lab392HAHA...so true. Even sadder is the people that die in their internet cafes playing it...without food or sleep.

SC2 is multiplat (PC and Mac), so it's not fair to compare them.Master-Thief-09
PCs and Macs are both PCs.

Killzone 2 may change your thought about that, you know... ;)
It depends, if playing StarCraft 2 requires a 1500$ PC then God of war 3 will sell more. Otherwise GoW3 will get the best reviews fo' sureDonMarkito
Considering you can build a $700 PC that maxes out Crysis (and no game will reach Crysis stature for a long time) easily it's guaranteed you don't need that much to run Starcraft 2. Hence, Starcraft 2 will sell more. Starcraft 1 sold over 10 million copies and it was just 1 game.
As for your review comment, who knows. Both Starcraft and God of War were reviewed very highly. I'm leaning towards Starcraft 2 however considering how epic the original game was in terms of the RTS genre.

700$? You need at least 1200$ to get a decent PC with all its softwares(Windows, etc....) and there's more people who have or will get a PS3 to buy GoW3.[QUOTE="Puckhog04"][QUOTE="DonMarkito"]It depends, if playing StarCraft 2 requires a 1500$ PC then God of war 3 will sell more. You really have no idea what you are talking about, do you?Main thing I don't understand is how can people compare them. We all know SC2 will sell more but you can't Ones an RTS and the others a Hack and slash, Comparable much?

Secondly you can build a computer for much less than 1200 which is what puckhog was talking about.
Thirdly, Korea.

While I agree that SC2 will be the game to sell more I find it very hard to believe that you found a PC that will max Crysis unless we have vastly different definitions on what constitutes "max".South Korea has a population of about 40 million people.
That's 40 million sales of StarCraft guaranteed. On the first day.
And that's assuming that they all only buy one copy :P

Wait a minute. How do you know the GOW will get the better reviews?
There isn't that much info yet on the game play, units etc as compared to SC2.!
Blizzard are good at making SC playable on a wide range of PC specs!
So how do you know the average spec PCs in peoples homes couldn't play this.
I think you completely underestimate SC's following.
It has been stated so many times that SC is one of the premier games of it's genre and has a following not just by a country dedicated to it (Korea) but also the rest of the RTS genre fans.
The level of anticipation for SC2 is huge especially in Korea.
the TC should have compared GOW of twar to a game in it's own genre and of equal user fan base.
I'm thinking you might have more luck with KZ2 compared to SC since where comparing cross genres.
The impression I keep getting is that KZ2 will be huge and move consoles.
Unless fanboys are not to sure on that!!!
