Overrated game of the year

Too Human scored 5.5 here, only has a 60% GR average, and expressed disappointment by many who were looking forward to it. How exactly is it overrated?? :|

What? Gears Of Wars 2 only got a 9...? In my opinion I think it should of scored a 9.5.

Overrated games this year are

MGS 4, and GTAIV. Neither deserved the 10 they got. And Little Big Planet.

it wasn't even close to as fun as san andreas. they made the graphics and scale better, but they failed to make the actual game very fun. after the 'omg i'm playing the new gta' effect wares off, its just not all that great. gta iv= very overrated.

Gta4, everything else got what it deserved.

MGS4 all the way. The online is notoriously bad. The story tries too hard to be smart and fails. cutscenes cool but actual game sucks.L1qu1dSword

i semi-agree with you. the online was horrible, and the gameplay wasn't ground breaking. but the way the story was told was something new, and made up for the standard gameplay. i think it was only slightly overrated, it still deserved a 9-9.5.

gta iv, however, was far more overrated. it just isn't fun. well, that's my opinion. opinion on these matters can't really be debated, as they are just how we perceived the game.

GTA 4 easily. The entire series is not very entertaining, but this game was rediculously overrated!

P.S. I personally think that SSBB is the game of the year! It outdid Melee and the original in leaps and bounds. It is the greatest multiplayer experience around! (I'll admit the online isn't very good, but the local multiplayer is untouchable)

For shooters, Gears of War 2 has the best multiplayer. The entire Halo series is trash, but this game has something more.

 Assassins Creed would be the most overrated game for me.

 Assassins Creed was a great game with some interesting concepts, but by no means did it deserve the reviews it got.

When people say GTA, it shows how much they don't want the industry to grow as a medium. Instead of getting an epic crime drama with tragic meanings that actually makes the Mature rated game actually mature, all of us want "OMG GIVE ME OLD GTA BACK WIT DA JET PACKS AND TEH FUNZ!" it just shows how absolutely immature we are as a community. GTA 4 is a game that moves the industry in a direction that makes the mainstream view games as an art medium, but for some reason people don't want that, and rather have people on the outside world treating games like toys and putting out legislators and bans on these violent games to "save the children."

Get off your righteous highground and take a realistic look at the industry. In case you haven't noticed, the biggest growth in the industry currently comes from the Wii, which is being marketed (and very successfully) as a toy for the family rather than a medium of art. Games can be art and also be very fun, Shadow of Colossus, Bioshock are a few examples.

Now GTA4 is a good game, but I have say that in trying to tell a mature story in GTA4, the game actually exposed just how silly and non-sensical the concept is. I mean every mission requires Niko to go to point A, kill people, return, repeat until end of story. Why does he have to work for these people? How can he get away with slaughtering 30 people in 20minutes and no repercussions? Why can't he not kill these people and find other solutions? Why have immature radiostations but not tanks roaming Liberty City? The game tries too hard to be serious but does not reinvent itself enough in terms of gameplay to match that, and the result is full of contradictions which neither satisfies the serious tone of the story, nor the slapstick gameplay which the previous GTAs are known for. At least with Gears 2, you know you'll love it if you loved the previous Gear game so it cannot be a disappointment. Because of all this, GTA4 in my opinion is the most overrated game this year, and personally most disappointing game I have ever played.

GTAIV was pretty boring after you beat it and the MP is dull, it had a good story, good acting, it's just after you beat it, it just sucked. They should've gave it a 9.0.

I downloaded the brothers in arms hells high way demo...I think it deserved a score of a 5.5-6.5 but somehow it got an 8.5...that game is terrible...and it's graphics look like it's an "history channal" game:?michelle341

Its a little harsh to judge purely on a demo though to be fair.

As for me, it's Brawl.

That game was hyped to infinity, and pretty much ruined the experience for me when it came out.
