lets get the s*it logic out of the way) You do not need single player / story mode to be worth buying... this logic shoudl be removed entirely... its stupid.

1) Class variety & design - battleborn is being "meh" recieved... because thats what it is.. "meh" ... TF2's class system is very conservative... and even then it took years to get class changes going. Overwatch launching with a wide variety of well designed (graphics, audio, theme and gameplay) characters with more to come.

2) Audio design - by far one of the most subtle yet brilliant aspects .... clearly designed to be as important as visual queues... (and yes, this does effect gameplay.... any PC gamer with half a brain will get the idea.)

3) Gameplay / netcode / engine .... it just feels great... and I loved TF2 ... but Overwatch is just on its own level.

The Bad

1) Content - 22 fleshed out characters for a shooter is great ........ but the modes/maps are quite limited.... (and its not launching with competitive ranking) .... to me, this is a red flag like Titanfall (another great shooter but lacked lastibility) the key difference here though is the level of collectibles for Overwatch is "decent" and will no doubt expand rapidly... its Blizzard, and they will no doubt add more modes.

2) Lack of pc focused features ... which is a bummer.

What do you want me to say? It's blizzards take on an FPS-Class/Team Focused shooter ... and the highest quality one on the market.... It is clearly very well produced, and will no doubt have good, consistent updates ...

This whole buy 2 play stuff is irrelevant... a company can do what they want. People will pay what the game is worth to them.

It takes up to 5-10 minutes for someone to tell who of you all is blizzboy and whos not. I own more Blizz games than you own thats why i told you before , i know my shit when it comes to blizzard since im playing the games i have an opinion on since their first week or so of their original releases.

Its not what ive heard , its not what i read somewhere , its not what ive been told or even worse , im not googling to find infos or making things out of my ass ... I HAVE EXPERIENCED what im talking about and thats where the big issue is with all these debates and its the main reason why im telling you and the others let it go.

I know PERSONALLY what the impact of those games were , what people had to say , the legacy they left behind , what Blizz did wrong , what did right , what was way better than competition , what was the same etc ...

Thats why i told you before , i used to be a huge fan when Blizzard was releasing one of a kind games but now im not.

Games like SC/WoW/WC series and Diablo are pissing literally on Diablo3/HOTs/HS and OW. The only game can stand on its own vs oldschool ones its SC2 but still nowhere near to the impact original SC had in almost every aspect aside its graphics and cutscenes and all !

Thats all there is to it. That wont change as of now till Blizzard get serious again , find their passion and put some money on the line to aim for an AAA Caliber game once more that will push gameplay boundaries or r/evolutionize a genre OR make such a game that will stand way and above all others even if they copying many elements ( like WoW did but only by watching it you knew this is something way and beyond vs games like LINEAGE, DAOC and EQ , the top 3 MMORPGs of the time , or most popular even ).

F2P caliber games with some spin here and there is not the Blizzard i once knew. Thats my point and that wont change because i know what im talking about , ive experienced what im talking about.

As a long time tf2 player (3200 hrs) this is the same reason Overwatch appeals to me. I don't know if Overwatch will be able to scratch the same itch tf2 does for me though, the pace of the games are so different that it will be difficult to adjust to Overwatch when it comes out, but with all the hype my friends have for the game I'm sure I will be forced to change games lol.
