Own a ps4 and no Vita? You're doing it WRONG!

The vita is the ultimate companion for the PS4. This is what i love about my vita/ps4 combo;

1. If you get a ps4 you need psn+ for multiplayer - however this also gives you a shit ton of bonus games to play. So without even purchasing a game you get a great library to play on your ps4/ps3 and vita.

2. Remote play just kicks ass and works flawlessly - is your missus being a pain in the ass and wanting the tv? just play it on your vita. Fantastic feature.

Sony need to be advertising the shite out of the ps4/vita right now. Who else has a ps4/vita combo and is loving it? is having a ps4 tempting anyone to go out and buy one?

Nah, only got a Vita. Unlike the PS4, it has games.

@Blabadon: Yeah not a load of games on ps4 right now - i caved in a moment of weakness (i was going to wait until june/july) However im still 100% happy with my purchase. Love the controller .

Well then I may end up doing it wrong and doing it proudly because I am still not sure I want a Vita. I already got the 3DS XL as my first handheld this gen and I normally only buy one handheld each gen. I will admit they have been doing better lately with games, but that high ass price tag on the memory cards is still holding me back. It also still needs more games. Most of it's better games are just watered down PS3 games. I have a PS3, so I don't care to own a Vita to play inferior PS3 games. I want exclusive experiences on the Vita that you don't get on the PS3 like the new Ys game for example or Tearaway.

I have a PS4 and a 3DS, I had a Vita but couldn't justify keeping it. There are a few games that I'm interested in for sure, but overall, it still doesn't have a library to justify a purchase to me.

I work at an unamed retail store in San Francisco, I had a PS4 rep come in today and told me that Sony eventually plans to release a combo of PS4/Vita and sell it closely to the Xbox ones price of 499 or a bit higher, he also mentioned the Last of Us HD re-release on the PS4 similar to tomb raider.

If that happens, then I am sold. I also have yet to buy The Last of Us and would much prefer a upgraded PS4 version.

Remote play is far from perfect. I was using it to play Madden while watching the NFL playoffs this past weekend. I was 4 feet away from my PS4 and even with all my bars I was getting a ton of hiccups and freezing on the Vita. I switched to BF4 on the Xbox One and had no issues so I know it's not my internet. Anyways I think the Vita warrants a purchase without the PS4. Anything above that is a bonus.

Im a big PS fan and while I played my PSP to death I bought a 3dsXL just the other day because I can play games like Sly Cooper and DC on my PS3. The games on 3ds are good but man is this thing a POS. Vita feels way better in your hands, the internet browser on the 3ds sucks major ass, the DAMN FIRMWARE update caused my 3ds to freeze up while doing anything involving internet and you cannot delete past updates so I had to exchange the damn thing because otherwise id have to send it in to nintendo. The camera is awful. Friend codes are stupid. I can only link one id to Nintendo Club.

With that being said Im enjoying the games and im probably going to keep it. /rant

The Vita should be able to stand alone as a handheld. (DUH!)

Buying a $400 machine + $200 handheld is completely insane.

The Vita is a complete failure. Just deal cows.

I'm sure some people love the games, but the 3DS is slaying my time. I'm pissed because I was fixed on it a while ago, but Sony dropped the ball, so the 3DS was the choice for me.

Ive had my vita for 1-2 years. Its great - just hated by haters (like yourself)

I did not buy the Vita for it to be an Addon to my Sony Console.

That would be sweet but i just don't believe it, the vita/ps4 would be very easy to think up and a rep would know, but a sony rep telling you about a the last of us game like tomb raider, he wouldn't know nothing about that, his job is to sell the product to you, not any insider stuff like that surely, thats between naughty dog and the most highest people in sony, a small rep wouldn't truly know i thing, he is pulling your leg on that one but if it's true then wow sony isn't very tight lipped

When I eventually pick up a PS4 (needs some good exclusives first) I will likely get a Vita too. Off screen play has been great for the Wii U so I want it on all consoles now!

@FLOPPAGE_50: Well the PS4+Vita thing is pretty much a real thing. Over here in Europe Sony did "soft bundles" with certain store chains, the important thing here was that the practice was Sony sanctioned, and not the initiative by stores.

So one could reason that the soft bundle was because Sony did not have time to put it together in a package on time, so bundles should show up soonish.

I am also fairly sure the bundles we will see will be containing the newer Vitas with the LCD screen, where as the soft bundles were the 2012 models with OLED.

As for the games, it might happen, stands to reason that most devs have higher quality textures when they make them, and scale them Down for what the system can bear, so TLoU might not be that hard to pull off all Things considered 8if we look apart form the somewhat painful notion of converting the entire thing to a new system sype, and Thus likely new language in alot of the coding.

WHO knows.

Ps4, like ps3, allows for multiple accounts and for subaccounts to access master account purchases.

I have a PS4 and a Vita but my Vita is still collecting dust.

Then again, so is my PS4. Been playing too many PC games lately to care. Oh well.

Got a separate room for gaming with it's own TV, so remote play isn't needed and I have no interest in vita games.

hmm... play a game for a two minute stretch of time and literally get nowhere when i am out and have a few rare mins of downtime or check my emails and texts and maybe take a quick peek at bbc and see if anything newsworthy has happened?

sorry vita, my lifestyle dictates you are of zero value to me when compared to doing something that makes more sense for the time allowed.

I own both a PS4 and Vita…On occasion we will do remote play..The times we did it worked fine…The vita is for my 6 year old and I use it on Biss/airplane trips so it gets used often.

I would like to see the remote play not limited to just local WIFI and can be played while i'm out of town.

It would be great to power on my PS4 from across country and play my PS4 game collection on the Vita.

I wish remote play worked on normal wifi so you could actually play remotely. Every external line I've tried - public or private - failed to connect. I heard low latency LTE services work OK, but I don't use those. But yes, I'm enjoying the Vita. I don't use remote play at home too much, though... it's mainly a novelty when I have to drop a deuce and feel like testing it out.

Nah, I have my Vita because it's a great system with great games and more coming out in Japan this year. Outside of the Ryu Ga Gotoku Ishin app the PS Vita is getting, I don't really care for the connectivity it has with the PS4 currently.

I'm not paying 200$+ for a PS4 controller, if I wanted that I'd get a Wii U.
