[QUOTE="Minishdriveby"]I was definitely reading 999 from the first puzzle room to the second puzzle room for about 1hr45min - 2 hours as everyone introduced themselves and started out a plan of action. Definitely more than 30 minutes, it does pick up towards the end. I remember it because my girlfriend was in class from 5-8 and she got home as I started the second puzzle room. What happened to the NNK, Xenoblade, and Animal Crossing podcast?darkspineslayerWere you also doing something else or are you just an incredibly slow reader? Also, what the hell would you talk about on an Animal Crossing podcast? It would sound like an AA meeting.
Not sure I started to fall asleep a little bit, so that might have slowed my reading down a bit.
We recorded the podcast when it first came out in June, so we were talking about the updates that they added from previous Animal Crossings. It was the last part of the cast and was the one we talked about for the least amount of time.

Guess I'm a little asleep too. I thought we were planning an Animal crossing podcast, TLOU styIe :P[QUOTE="Heil68"][QUOTE="Blabadon"]Eroica, Heil, get your asses onto playing 999 so we can do a spoilercast, forreal.BlabadonWill do, I have it in my que at game fly. Good, I'll type up that guide I wrote for my friend a while back and give it to you. I honestly dont see me playing it x amount of times to get all the different endings. I'll just youtube them like I did Heavy Rain. :P
[QUOTE="darkspineslayer"][QUOTE="Heil68"] I honestly dont see me playing it x amount of times to get all the different endings. I'll just youtube them like I did Heavy Rain. :P Heil68YouTube the others, but for the love of god, play the safe and true endings for yourself. How do you know which endings are safe and true? lolThe best way to do it, imo, is to play through at least once or twice on your own, no guide, just to get into it. You're almost certain to get a bad end, but that's expected. Once you've done that, check out the flowchart I'm posting below. I does have some very minor spoilers, but if you play through before you check the guide, you'll be familiar with them anyway. And yes, the 2 endings mentioned should be experienced on your own. Don't youtube them. I have yet to see a video that didn't ruin them with horrible commentary.

Can't wait to rag Red Dead Redemption :twisted:Blabadon*Cracks knuckles* OK we got our first duel on this one.

Can't think of one game I hate enough to rip a new one. jg4xchampDidn't you used to tweak out when mafia 2 got mentioned?
Mafia 2? Ninja Gaiden 3?darkspineslayerLike I said can't think of just one game I hate enough to rip a new one.
[QUOTE="jg4xchamp"]Can't think of one game I hate enough to rip a new one. blue_hazy_basicDidn't you used to tweak out when mafia 2 got mentioned? I did not tweak. That game is shit, and deserves to be called that on a routine basis.

You and Eroica against anyone who likes a good video game? This will be fun! I love RDR! and at Clyde I love TW too, but by no means are the flawless, esp the last few editions.
[QUOTE="jg4xchamp"]Can't think of one game I hate enough to rip a new one. TheEroicaanything by rockstar? I don't hate their games. I understand the appeal of RDR and Max Payne 3. I think they are nowhere close to as good as their hype. GTA 4 is the only game from them I would argue is bad. Like 3 and VC haven't aged that well, but in 2001 and 2002?(was it 03?) those games were really good, but that genre got flooded to the point those games look far less impressive when you get over Vice City's awesome soundtrack and atmosphere. Genuine dislike for a game? That list is a lot rarer.

"Devs at Chunsoft admit to being incapable of creating games on par with the greatness of Red Dead Redemption..."
High 5's Hazy...
Can't think of one game I hate enough to rip a new one. jg4xchampI've got a ton I'd love to rip a new one.
Most recently Gone Home. Played that over the weekend and damn, it's overrated as hell.
Actually it is pretty decent, just nowhere near a 9.5. I have a lot of other games I could destroy if I wanted.

At this point...I can't give a shit about a score. At that point I'd be like TexasGoldRush: EVERYTHING IS OVERRATED...and that's not a fair way of judging a game. That's a by product of critics having some really low standards(I swear to you there was no way I could type that without it coming off douchy, so f*ck it). Admittedly I'm only saying that because I do want to try that game.[QUOTE="TheEroica"][QUOTE="jg4xchamp"]Can't think of one game I hate enough to rip a new one. jg4xchampanything by rockstar? Like I don't like To The Moon, but I'm glad that game exists, because the amount of games that talk about that shit are at like ....To The Moon and nothing else. I wouldn't really pick on any major sacred cow. Maybe like those art games like Dear Esther, and The Path, and The Void. Because eww Fair enough... and I'd tend to agree that 1. Gta4 sucks balls, and the older gta games havent aged particularly well... Come to think of it, RDR and MP3 to an extent are the only R* games ive enjoyed for quite a while... I do think that RDR is a special game, and I think thats partially because leading up to that game I didnt think a western open world game would be compelling all the way through... imo, they effin nailed it.
as for To the Moon and the like, To the moon to me is a game I can see people loathing as it's basically a story that you move around through in a fairly "pulse-less" kind of way... what I appreciate about it is the sum of its parts... top down 16bit era art and heartstring yanking story and characters... That said, I can see myself feeling ripped off in playing games like that, especially if that stuff didnt resonate with me at all... It'd be a big ole "eww"
My larger issue with To The Moon is that as a plot it's more manipulative than well earned, and some of the dialogue is just overkill on internet humor. Oh and one too many leaps of faith with some of the decision making from the scientists. It has some sweet moments. I thought the stuff at the festival was cute. Ending is really well done. Lots of charm, good music. It's not that offensive.
Dear Esther bothers me way more because that narrative and that game aren't exactly put together in any meaningful way. You walk around, some dude talks. It doesn't really feel connected in any meaningful way. Journey does the whole you walk forward the videogame with symbolism through its imagery far better than that game did for me.
RDR's cool for the atmosphere and John Marston. Some misfires in the writing aside, they immortalized that character pretty well for me. Plus I liked those shooting animations all things considered. Killing a mother f*cker always looked neat. Oh and putting broads on train tracks is an awesome achievement/10

Admittedly I'm only saying that because I do want to try that game. I don't really want to spoil much in case you ever do play it. There is a lot of stuff to like about Gone Home, like it's excellent atmosphere, light soundtrack, and attention to detail, especially in it's super high res textures and some side stories. However, it only lasts about 2 hours, maybe 3-4 if you search every item for every plot thread, it runs pretty poorly, and it's main story is just really bare bones with none of the complexity or emotional charge I've taken away from a lot of other story based games. It rides entirely on one bit of controversy that it doesn't do enough with.Even if you don't listen to scores, a lot of reviews have said it's one of the best stories around, which I don't feel is true at all. I even like this kind of slice of life stuff, but part of life is taking unexpected turns, which this never does. It takes a ton of interesting points and regularly drops them as you progress.

LOL yeah not the best idea when I joined up here at GS. I honestly never thought of the name in that way. I played bass guitar in a heavy metal band back in the day named Slaves to Addiction so thats where it came from. Â Trust me I've gotten some feedback here and on PSN.Â
Whats wrong with GTA4?clyde46I struggled greatly with that game... played a good 25 hours before I just had to get real with myself that for the past 24 hours I was playing an extremely boring game with horrendous controls, aweful missions and characters I labored over trying to care about. I think it was a great "new gen" tech demo, but the game itself let me down like few others in gen7... I felt like it was a massive step backwards. That said, I have not played the expansions, but from most people's accounts they fix alot of things I took issues with.
