PC is dead at retail. You don't see huge PC shelves at gamestop or anything. As far as Steam nobody knows the numbers, but devs keep putting games on the PC so it's not dead yet.Parasomniac

i agree with some points he has. PC gaming is not dead its just less relevant . Consoles can do more and more so there is less reason to buy a gaming pc. A home threater set up is a much better place to make then at a desk with a tiny monitor . 50 intch plasma ftw

Pachter is an idiot, he does not even provide his sources for the digital distribution sales but says lets just include steam in there. If you want a current example, look at Bad Company 2; sold more on PC than consoles because it did not screw PC gamers like MW2 and thats not an mmo. A near PC experience on consoles? I think not as they are missing out on bettter gfx, mods, better controls for some games and competitive gameplay which only PC can offer. As for feeling more comfortable on a sofa with a huge tv, not for me. I have a 51 inch lcd and a 360 yet I still don't play it. Its because my 21 inch monitor LCD can display resolutions higher than that TV, also because my console cannot run teamspeak and other things that make PC gaming great.

Wasn't this thedude that said something like "PC can't do PS3 graphics, because of the cell/ you would have to buy a 2000 dollar PC to compete with the PS3" :D . No wonder the world economy is screwed, because of douchebags like this wanabee analyst.

3rd party exclusivity is extremely weak on consoles now; and yet the platform with the most 3rd party support is dying? PS3 and 360 are unable to justify their relevance as platforms without constant 1st party supplementation; and yet the platform with more A-AAA exclusive games than all the consoles combined is in trouble?

6-7 percent of game sales? Even if you believed that number, how many different gaming platforms are there now? It isn't just the big four; you have to take ALL game sales on ALL platforms into account with that figure. That includes the Tetris you downloaded for your mobile, all game sales he said.

Developers have voted, they voted PC, they voted with their platform choice when choosing which platform was worth their exclusivity. From what I've seen consoles image of being stronger is as artificial as their launch hype. I'm suppose to believe platforms that would be a joke compared to PC if the 1st party didn't go on exclusive spending sprees; are a threat to a platform with the most exclusives without a penny on incentives?
