I've yet to play a game of Gears on XBL thats been ruined by lag. Infact I very rarely get lag on any XBL games.

I'm talking about Gears of War. You pay money just so you can play a 4 player online game, that doesn't have dedicated servers, so the host server has the advantage if you lag. Many Gears players already complained about this alot.

Casey you should add this myth to your topic, that Live only support 4 players and that it's laggy. I mean wtf, this is getting tiring. Gears supports only 8 players because it was a developer's choice. Gears was not designed to be played with 16 or more players, so fanboys really have to stop using this flawed logic. Just because Gears has a little host advantage (which should not even be noticeable if you play with people from your contry/area) it does not mean ALL games have lag or whatever. Burnout doesn't lag. Neither does GRAW2. Does Halo 2 lag? It has thousands and thousands playing yet no one complains. Why's that? I thought it was "laggy"? Looks like you're wrong. As usual.

PSN lags as well. If you're playing a match against someone from the USA when you're from Europe you will lag ALWAYS. Because you have to send information to the host and then he has to send it to everyone. It takes TIME doing this, on Live AND PSN. It's not even a second, but it's time and still counts to what you call lag. PSN uses a internet connection so it LAGS also. Anyone with little computer knowledge would know this.

And to be honest, gears MP was sub par.

Im just pleased I played 1/2 price for my live gold pack, with headset and points.

The very thought of paying to play P2P games online makes me cringe. The headset justified the purchase. The points - meh I got some cool Fallout gamerpics with it.

While XBL is very slick and the interface is great, MS simply cant justfiy the purchase, no matter how well - or badly - games are online.

Once Halo 3 comes out people will forget about gears and its gimmicky controls and horrid shottie only gameplay. I gave it a chance online but its too clunky and lags. Halo 3 is gonna make it look bad.

Oh and I have Gears and Resistance. I would say GeoW is definitely a better game but the MP isnt better. Dont get me wrong, GeoW is a great game and I loved it. I played the single player multiple times. But the controls arent conducive to MP. And what we can determine from the gamerankings scores is that GS overrated GeoW and underrated Resistance. Strange.

I think GS was mezmorized by GeoW's graphics for it to warrant a 9.6. And then give Zelda TP an 8.9 and its a 96% on gamerankings? another underrated product from GS

Actually you are right, MS is ripping gamers and they simply don't care about them. In Europe the 1year gold live costs even more, 60EUR, complet **** and nearly every game lags like crap.

For me Gow is simply unplayable on almost every server except some German servers and if playing with my firends which i mostly do, friends who live near me or in the same country and don't come me with crap like get a better connetion, i have 10mbit dl and 10mbit up.

PDZ was the only game so far that had dedicated servers and was far batter playable then anyother 360 game.

No Xbox live it self is great, but 1 year gold member is not worth the 60EUR in Europe, thats way too much for the laggy crap.
