I don't see where you are going with this anyway. It's not like alot of these kinds of games get made in abundance on any system.

for the platformers:

only 8 of those games listed are ps3 exclusive. 5 of them aren't out yet and the three that are, are low scoring. one with a 7.5, another with a 6.5 and the last with a 5.2. wow...that's some stellar line-up you got there.

as for the jrps:

i couldn't care less because i don't like that genre. as for the last remnant, that game is coming out for the 360 as a timed-exclusive before the ps3 version.

flops are never considered good games on system wars. in real life however, they can be quite enjoyable. real life and personal tastes completely differ from the gaming commuity on online boards. though one person may like a game that has a low or decent rating, anohter may not like the game because it's not the right genre for them, or the storytelling was great, or they got too destracted from what they found as being bad in the game that it prevented them from enjoying the good parts.

i real life, personal tastes are that matter.

in an online gaming community, scores are all that matter.

Actually I've seen many more people here who seem to think the PS3 has more than one good game, than people who would say that it only has one good game. There's no rule to say that a game considered a "flop" cannot be considered a good game. And if scores are really all that matter, it just reinforces that the PS3 has plenty of good games.

Even if we did go by an imagined rule of "only non-flops are good games" (not that I'm suggesting for a second it would make any sense), the PS3 has far more than 1 - MGS4, GTAIV, Burnout Paradise, The Orange Box, Condemned 2, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, plus others.

The Ps3 has a line up with too much variety to counter anything Microsoft releases Rfom2, Vakyrie and Motorstorm just to name a few. I truly enjoy my Ps3 your words cant change how I see the system.

uh huh. if the 360 drops in price, the ps3 drops in price. this later makes nintendo drop their price. after all that, we're back in the same place: wii in first, 360 in second and ps3 in third. mgs is highly over-rated. the reviewers probably based the scores on the cutscenes and not the actual game. R2 and Motorstorm are much of the same and will receive much the same scores as the first games. your words my console you now, but when the ps3 flops continue, your words will only help to feed your delusions.

true. quality and quantity of game do. the ps3 only has one good game and plenty of crappy ones. don't get me wrong, the 360 has its share of flops and crappy titles (blue dragon and bullet witch come to mind) but the fact is the 360 has more games that obtain higher scores and has features that sony is still trying to implement on the ps3.

That's the entire point: Sorny always has that "Coming Soon" ad for the PS3 & it's features are just rip-offs of the Top 2 Consoles. I'm surprised they haven't found a way to rip from the Hermits yet.

Well three of those games are not even out and even with that...(I'll do the same for PS3)... You think those games stack up against names like Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy and Gran Turismo? These three games alone destroy that list of yours.

It's kind of sad how Cows (not saying you or this article) are suddenly claiming they are awesome and have the best console just because they have 1 10 here, which on Game Rankings is actually rated at like 92%, not all that amazing a score to be honest. Sad that gaming media is being swayed as well, any magazine that states it only has good games now that MGS4 is out is kind of biased IMO. It's had good games for ages.

How? :? HD in general IS a niche market. Blu Ray adoption has been incredibly slow. HDTV owners are still in the overwhelming minority. Games consoles aren't powerful enough to run games in proper HDTV anyway. So yeah, i think he's spot on.

I think that's a degree of twisting numbers to suit one's ends. At the end of the day, you want the console with the most AAA games worth playing. That console - at least for now - is undoubtedly the 360. Averaging games is pointless as it only dilutes the quality by taking into account all the bad games. And as a gamer - how do they affect you? They dont. They're crap and you steer clear of them.

When judging quality, the only logical thing to do is to simply compare the number of highly-rated games.

eh I just use my PS3 for watching movies...I'm not a huge fan of MGS so ,to me, the PS3 kind of failed as a gaming machine.

It is great for movies though xP

I have tried the MGS series twice...I only finished the 3rd one but I didn't like either one...not even bothering with the newest one...I don't like how linear the game is...nor do I enjoy sitting through tons of cutscenes

two words: EPIC FAIL

here's why: the 360 is ahead of the ps3 in terms of overall console sales, number of quality games, online service, the fact that to play a game all the user has to do is put the disc in, not spend 20-30 installing it. though the 360 still uses dvd, the transfer rate/data rate of the 360's dvd drive is higher than the blu-ray drive in the ps3. the 360 is not ripping off the competition by stealing motion sensing and adding it to the controls at the last minute. its not stealing the "achievements" feature that was developed by its main competitor. the 360 came out into the market with AAAE games while the ps3 had to wait 19 months for one. the 360 wasn't sold by its creator as a movie player with a last gen (now two year old soon to be three year old) GPU that is not nearly as good as the competitors. hell for 19 months all multiplats were better on the 360. the ps3 is finally now catching up to both of its competitors by introducing rumble or force feedback technology, a feature that has been standard in gaming for 10 years. the ps3 is limited by what was promoted to be its best feature, the Cell BE. a processor that is piss poor for gaming but is a wonder for video transcoding, its original intention. the Cell is so bad at gaming that sony sold their entire stake in the cell business to toshiba. if anyone is trying to ditch their tripe of a console, it's sony, not ms.

wow, i was talking about console features and overall console sales. yes i was also talking about the amount of quality games on the console as well. every game that was hyped here for the ps3 flopped (except mgs4, highly overrated). hell cows even deliberately underhyped haze as an 8.0 game and it got a 6. the ps3 is so far behind that by the time they catch up, the next gen is already underway with the new nintendo and ms consoles selling like hotcakes.
