The person who wrote this article is a PC gamer himself so read it carefully I will help "highlight" the important lines to back up my arguement!..;)
"Have any of you realized the lack of support for PC products as I have? It seems everywhere I go now the PC sections are getting smaller and smaller."
"So with all the vendors and retailers removing PC stock(including performance parts and hardware) from their shelves where does this leave all of us?? Sure you can say the internet!! But that doesn't help you when even most of our larger sites our trimming down their offerings as well."
"Recent articles involving the makers of Crysis, Titan's Quest, and now even John Carmack and ID software express they are switching their focus to consoles primarily because PC games just aren't selling anymore."
"Console sales and gaming is wiping the floor with PC's and all the evidence supports this."
The Last line is ownage for the thread

Well, I'm a PC gamer and he's right. Something needs to be done with the PC gaming industry.

console games have been out selling PC games for a while now.
It has to do with the fact that consoles appeal to the majority because they are so simple.
The only way to make PCs as popular is to make them as user friendly as a console

Which would kill the main appeal of PC gaming, which are the features made possible because of its complexity and openness.
As far as I'm concerned this is a pop vs wine situation, pop sells more but no one is about to say that is evidence pop is better than wine. If wine wanted to sell as much as pop it would have to deteriorate itself into mass produced crap, selling as much as pop but losing its main appeal in the process.
I'm happy with PC gaming being a premium product, it's not going to be as popular as a mainstream product but there are advantages to that.Â
look up Activision/Blizzard + Piracy in google you will probably have a list of hits a mile long.....Ilikemyname420Yeah, this took about five seconds.
"The thing that I think helps us, is that since our games have such a huge multiplayer component, Battle.net really is our most effective DRM. If you wanna play online on Battle.net with other players you're going to have to have a legitimate copy. That's really kinda been the thing that's always saved us from a lot of the PC piracy that I think hurts a lot of other single-player-only games." said Pardo in an interview with Wired.Wired
[QUOTE="yoyo462001"][QUOTE="Bebi_vegeta"]lol blizzard havnt said anything about piracy. and people here need to learn what facts are because a few devs say something DOES NOT make it FACT.Â
They never said anything about Piracy... self-owned!Gamingcucumber
The reason why is because of Battlenet which makes Blizzard pretty much imune to piracy. And yes they have hinted at it due to the possible charge of their survice when Starcraft 2 is being released. Why is Blizzard and Valve taking all these safety precautions with WoW and L4D if Piracy isn't a problem? EA even went as far as to implent DRM and removing of LAN Co-Op support for Red Alert 3.
They said nothing about piracy, they even laugh just mentionning piracy.

Crytek, Blizzard more and more of the big wig companies have complained about piracy and are going to make console versions of games. Its on the net I'm sure you can find them
Ilikemyname420

They laugh at it? Oh really? Explain why they are taking such safety procurations then? Just for fun? Yeah, I really don't think that most of the developers think of piracy as a joke. That's like saying that the music industry hasn't changed because of people downloading.

The point is, Blizzard aren't abandoning the PC and moving to console only development like the TC suggested.look up Activision/Blizzard + Piracy in google you will probably have a list of hits a mile long.....Ilikemyname420Yeah, this took about five seconds.

Their concerned about piracy (how couldn't they be), but their solution isn't to cut and run from the market.

The point is, Blizzard aren't abandoning the PC and moving to console only development like the TC suggested.Of course not. They are one of the very few PC exclusive developers that actually make a buck on the platform *cough WoW*. There really isn't any reason for them to bother with console ports since they nowadays are monthly leeching of the entire PC market (excluding The Sims consumers).
But let's speculate IF Blizzarde are starting to charge for BattleNET...well...go figure...

It will be just like when Microsoft charges for live... funny enough, it's free for PC users.
