Can you get me a PC for around $199.99 that can play Call of Duty 4 on the same level of quality as the Xbox 360 version?Stevo_the_gamerThat argument is stupid because you probably spent $700 on your computer and $250 on the xbox 360 )who buys an arcade) that total is $950 and at that price you could run COD4 better than a 360

Either way, he's not entitled to just help himself to someone else's work without permission.

Proof? Otherwise hush little child.when you build a pc you dont have much money left to pay for 100$ os, i think microsoft purposly put out some universal cd keys out there, for people who couldnt pay for os lol.consolegaminsolNo, they didn't. If you'd like to know what MS intended, there's a little document called EULA.txt that will make it quite clear. Those keys are intended for corporate customers so that they don't have to keep track of one key for each PC they have. Since people like you are using them to help themselves to something they don't have permission to use, MS developed a new system for Vista that uses a local activation server. Whether you have the money left over is irrelevant. It's software, not food or medicine.

They might have had to put in a little effort but I doubt it was really that hard to downgrade the textures or leave out a few parts in the game.
Either way: they still made some more money then they would have if they hadn't ported it.

Two things though... you need a HDTV to make Cod 4 look good and I'm pretty sure on to play on XBL you need a HDD for COD4.. so you can't buy an arcade.
ANYONE saying you don't need a HDTV has either never tried a SDTV then gone to HD, blind, a fanboy.. or an idiot.

I had my 360 hooked up to my old CRT before I got my LCD and although I will never go back to SD :P , it's still (in most cases) not necessary. Most games (apart from a few problems like Dead Rising) look perfectly fine on SD.

Reusing parts doesn't mean you can ignore their initial costs. The PC that you must use these parts from cost money. And no, not even the Operating System should be dismissed. All costs should be as new, not from money you spent on other PC's.
In that case, your setup is closer to being over double of the intended $200 asking price for an Xbox 360.

But you all get my point, the other 2 plus countless others are not available on the PC, is my point..... I simply couldnt be satisfied as a gamer only playin on the PC.
You probably could be satisfied playing only PC games. (or any of the other 3 systems)
If you do more research on each system, I'm sure you can find enough games to satisfy you.
I used to think there's only 1 or 2 games I would want to play on the wii but when I did some more research I could find at least 10 games that look interesting to me.
Nope.... I need Zelda, Mario, Halo, Gears, Starcraft, Diablo... the only system not needed this gen is PS3, which is the only one i dont own.
What has price go to do with anything? Why the hell do consolites hide behind the price thing? Honestly is that the best argument you have?
You get what you pay for, That extra money gets you alot more than just a gamesplaying machine. I edit and print lots of pics, videos, music etc etc on my PC, the fact my PC is pretty fast makes all this faster and easier.
I play games on m,y consoles, thats it, nothing more, nothing less. I expect them to be much cheaper than my PC. Fact is i do 100's of things on my PC and get amazing better looking games as a bonus.
i built a ground up pc for about 360$
everyone here, is using a pc so you can use parts off the crap you already have and make the pc you building even cheaper requiring you to buy less parts.

I've bought my 60GB Pro 360 for €200,- (equivalent of $200) , it plays all the games for the 360 and I haven't spend a dollar/euro on Live.
Besides: If you really want to game online you could just make a new account every month because you'll get a free month of Live Gold everytime you do that. ;)

This.
This is why a PC costs more and spanks a console every.single.time. Guess what, I'm also using my pc for work, earn money off of it and use it to PLAY GAMES TOO.

Buy nobody has ever stated consoles are a bad deal. The price thing is only brought up by console gamers when they cant bash PC for any other reason. Like i said in my post, if a PC did nothing buy play games for that price, was just like a console then maybe it could be a valid point. The fact is, even when it comes down to just gaming you get probably $1000's of dollars extra gameplay a year, FREE with mods etc. Not to mention all the other things PC's do.
Anyway, overall my PS3 has cost more than my PC when you add up everything spent on both, so don't tell me its that much cheaper to be a console gamer.
