[QUOTE="50u1r34v3r"][QUOTE="Frozzik"]What has price go to do with anything? Why the hell do consolites hide behind the price thing? Honestly is that the best argument you have?
You get what you pay for, That extra money gets you alot more than just a gamesplaying machine. I edit and print lots of pics, videos, music etc etc on my PC, the fact my PC is pretty fast makes all this faster and easier.
I play games on m,y consoles, thats it, nothing more, nothing less. I expect them to be much cheaper than my PC. Fact is i do 100's of things on my PC and get amazing better looking games as a bonus.
Frozzik
The price issue is merely brought up to demonstrate that a console isn't a bad deal if you just want to play the majority of the games.
Buy nobody has ever stated consoles are a bad deal. The price thing is only brought up by console gamers when they cant bash PC for any other reason. Like i said in my post, if a PC did nothing buy play games for that price, was just like a console then maybe it could be a valid point. The fact is, even when it comes down to just gaming you get probably $1000's of dollars extra gameplay a year, FREE with mods etc. Not to mention all the other things PC's do.
Anyway, overall my PS3 has cost more than my PC when you add up everything spent on both, so don't tell me its that much cheaper to be a console gamer.
I'm not argueing against the PC, I love PC gaming.
I'm just saying that if I only want to play games it IS cheaper to play on my 360 than it is playing on my PC. No way around it.

What if you don't game online? :)
I've bought my 60GB Pro 360 for €200,- (equivalent of $200) , it plays all the games for the 360 and I haven't spend a dollar/euro on Live.
Besides: If you really want to game online you could just make a new account every month because you'll get a free month of Live Gold everytime you do that. ;)
nope you had to pay for tv.Nope, I bought the TV to get the full potential out of my media center ;)
And if I need a TV, you need a monitor (which I would also be able to use on my 360 by the way)

you can find standard 4:3 aspect crt moniters for like a dollar lol, but xbox360 wont display on them correctly, because it displays in widescreen resolutions.

Well let me say this,
I paid £600 for my PC and had a massive library of games i could play.
I moved to Australia
I paid $690 for a PS3, $70 for a second pad and 4 games $410 total $1170, at the time exchange rate £500.
Since than i have bought around 20 games for PS3, all around £80 total $1800
lets say 20 on PC, now on average PC games are $15-$30 cheaper. so lets say $65, total $1300 Not to mention i get better graphics on PC with mods. So, as you can see, Console gaming isn't the cheaper alternative for everyone. It isn't a fact that console gaming is cheaper, in the long term it costs more.
Yeah PC is by far the best as long as all you want is RTS, FPS & WRPG's. My consoles offer some things that my gaming rig just can't. Ninja Gaiden, Super Mario Galaxy, KOTOR, simply put, some of the best games of all time are only available on consoles. It's sad that Hermits miss out on so much.whatsazergNot only does the PC have KOTOR... it has the KOTOR mmo which is exclusive to the PC...
it just does with a good pc you get cheaper games and better looking ones at that...THE ENDnoxboxlive
agreed 200% my friend!
.games with longetivity
.modding
.cheaper games
.better online/community/steam
.better controller options/customization
.graphics
the only downfall is probably price. but you can do so much more with a pc besides gaming. :)

I'll agree that the price isn't the same in every situation or for every person, but I do believe that generally speaking it is cheaper to play an entire gen ona console than it is on a PC. Both options have their pros and cons.
But I don't think we will ever both agree to that so let's agree to disagree :P

kind of ironic if it was built into the motherboard, then id assume you're forced to used that OS, without having to freedom to use what you want(xp, vista, linux, soon windows 7), or partitioning your hdd and using them all*sigh*PC gaming is good if you are one of the following:

Reusing parts doesn't mean you can ignore their initial costs. The PC that you must use these parts from cost money. And no, not even the Operating System should be dismissed. All costs should be as new, not from money you spent on other PC's.
In that case, your setup is closer to being over double of the intended $200 asking price for an Xbox 360.
in that case, the xbox 360 price tag should be somewhere in the $1200 range, with an HDTV included.

Oh right pc gaming is doing just fine. So when I go to my friend's house for lan gaming I suppose I'm not supposed to notice that most of the online fps we play are eitherA. From a few years ago like Swat 4 / CS
B. Indy shooters like Combat Arms
The difference between me and you is that I have a realistic view of pc gaming. I can remember when companies like iD and Epic made games for the pc first without even considering if they could run on consoles. Did you not get the memo about Bethesda making the 360 their target platform for fallout 3? What more evidence do you need? Time to take off your blinders, pc gaming is not what it once was.
If pc gaming wasn't in a rut then BF3 would be in development, not that Battlefield Heroes crap. iD would be working on a real quake or doom sequel, not a web based quake or cell phone wolfenstein. But then maybe I'm supposed to not notice all this and delude myself into believing that pc gaming is as good as ever.

Time to take off your blinders, pc gaming is not what it once was.dc337Yes, it's much better now than it was when you liked it. As I've wrote already you treated PCgaming as console gaming in higher res. To me PCgaming is something diffrent. PC market was cathering to people like you for way to long, it lost almost everything that made me a PCgamer in the first place. Now when the mainstream devs moved to consoles and people like you followed we old PCgamers are finally starting to get stuff we were devoid off for almost a decade.
PC gaming is a dying breed. Hardware sales are down and same with game sales. It owns nothing.djsifer01
people have been saying PC gaming is dying for like 10 years now

The Arcade system may have less add-ons with it, but it still can play Call of Duty 4 at a great quality -- you don't need a HDD to play Call of Duty 4. Again, a Xbox 360 is cheaper and can play games at a good quality. Whether or not you disagree if not my concern, you can't argue with objectivity.
