I'm just wondering, what's wrong with PC gaming? Why do you people bash and make fun of it?
It's just as much gaming as consoles. We have a fair share of good games, and a good community.

Before you call me a hermit, I play onthe Xbox 360, PS3, and a PC.

Just please, no bashing or fanboyism. I'm just asking questions.

PC gaming is fine, in fact I prefer it to console and portable gaming. It is not without faults, but I like it. My most favorite games are PC games, like STALKER, Crysis, Cryostasis, Civilizations and many more.

The PC is superior to the consoles in most ways so naturally it's going to be the target of a lot of hate.

Console fanboy are very dedicated you know...

PCs fundamentally require a little more work and maintenance (even if you buy a pre-built). Consoles don't, and don't need to worry about upgrades during their lifetime or whether a particular game is compatible with one of near-infinite combinations of hardware (though in practice it's not that difficult).

But if you know what you're doing, they're fairly small issues.

The only other point is that PC multiplayer tends to be restricted to online, multiple controller support on the PC seems fairly weak.

Nothing is wrong with PC gaming at all, its fantastic.

People need to stop bashing pc gaming and sayign its dead, when its alive and well.

Seems to me that 90% of the people hating on pc gamign are people who dont have a gaming pc or dont understand things about pc gaming.

You dont have to upgrade every year or anything. For me I got this new computer 3.5 years ago and I can still paly stuff at high and ultra settings. I wont buy a new graphics card for another year or two.. tahts 4.5 or 5.5 years in between upgrading.

Having owned a PC, PS3 and 360 this gen... guess what has been the cheapest? The PC!
Ive spent more money on console gaming then I have pc gaming to be 100 % honest.

I love both console and pc gaming, but some people really are misinformed about pc gaming.

Nothing is wrong with PC gaming at all.

I just think people hate on the whole keyboard + mouse controls when they are so used to using a gaming controller. When I made the transition from a joystick to mouse + keyboard I found it extremely difficult because I was so used to using a game pad. I guess some people are just too impatient to let the controls grow on them.

Then theres also the cost of upgrading which alot of people say is expensive. Thats an added factor to the negativity towards PC gaming.

The biggest problem is inaccessibility. Most people aren't too knowledgeable when it comes to PC hardware, and you have to become something of a PC hardware enthusiast if you want to ever become a PC gamer. Also most of the games on PC tend to be a little more complicated. Console games tend to be pick up and play styled, arcade-ish games. Most console games don't have much of a learning curve (Halo for example) and even include things like aim assist to make things easier for newcomers. I don't think I've ever played a PC games that didn't require you to have experience with the game to enjoy it (unless it was a console port). Lastly, most people grew up playing on consoles and prefer it for reasons most people who play strictly on the PC wouldn't understand. Different things work for different people, and if you have the time on your hands, you should give PC gaming a shot. Cost is moot because on PC you pay a lot for hardware, and with consoles you get ripped off on games and accessories.

If you're going for slightly above console quality, then it sure is.

If we're talking a really high end rig, then sure. It's going to take a while before the price equals out.

Out of the 200 games I have near my computer right now... only one of them had RIDICOLOUS DRM as you say.. Settlers 7. And guess what? That one game with bad DRM has not been a problem to me at all. When I want to play the game I can.

The initial expense is probably more. In the long run I'd say my xbox 360 has cost me even more than my PC has.

The only bad RDM is the one that Ubisoft has,as most ubisoft games don´t really matter to many PC gamers, with the exception of Silent Hunter.

Even then it's not cheaper. To build a decent low-mid end PC would be at least $500. While you can get a 360 for what like $200. I'm a huge PC gamer, but it's far from cheap. On the other hand I don't see price as a disadvantage or an advantage.

Nothing wrong with PC gaming. Its going as strong as it ever has. Price is very subjective but very cheaper then what many people like to propagate on system wars. PC still getting great exclusive titles and many of the big mainstream games.

I made a whole article on PC pricing on Mays System Wars Monthly showing how PC gaming can be cheaper then consoles. People look to the here and now on PC to console prices and do not consider how much console players have spent since a console has come out.

What on earth are you talking about? I never once said you have to upgrade your graphics card every year or two...

Let me say this again...

I bought this pc "3.5 years ago" and I have NOT HAD TO UPGRADE THE GRAPHICS CARD YET. The day I do upgrade my graphics card, it will be 4.5 or 5.5 years from when I got my pc.... 5.5 years before a upgrade! NOT ONE OR TWO years as you are saying.

You are definatly misinformed from your friend.

In the last 3.5 years over 200 games have worked on my pc, NONE where not able to run or work. I never wonder if a game will work or not on my pc, its just as reliable as my ps3 or 360.

Once you own a pc yourself one day you will understand these things better, until then you are watchign your friend and his computer and not your own.

You dont have to upgrade every few years, THAT IS A LIE.

Consoles have there upsides and so does PC gaming.

its mostly console fanboys that bash PC because they are butthurt over not being able to enjoy more than 1 platform. The same goes for PS3 fanboys and 360 fanboys bashing each others systems endlessly, still after 5 years trying to justify and defend their purchase while we PC gamers just sit by and lol and own ignorant gamers and their stupid remarks. Real actual gamers Know the Pros and Cons of each platform and don't act like asstards.

PC gaming is great... since i got my PC i havent played much on my consoles..

If i had to go back at the start of this generation, i'd build a good gaming PC (and upgrade when required) + 1 console which would be the PS3 for me..

For my personal computer is was cheaper from the time I built my computer till now. Thats not including the price of games in that span or lack of online fees etc etc.

My article is on Page 9 of the article where I demonstrate the evolution of my computer. May edition of System Wars Monthly

Since it stretches across all genres, is far more innovative and can be heavily modified on top of that the games are cheaper (in most cases) than console gaming, I say there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.

The problem is console fanboys declaring it's death everyday.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with PC gaming.

Don't listen to those trolls claiming you have to upgrade your PC every year and that it's ultra expensive as they make it out to be.

I got my PC for $500 1.5 years ago (without the monitor) and I can still run everything almost maxed out.

[QUOTE="i5750at4Ghz"][QUOTE="Chris_Williams"]

i read that part wrong my badz, but i still rather just game on my console then worrying about the game spec requirements, which i know all you PC gamers check

Chris_Williams

I spend enough on my PC that I don't have to check requirements.

well see i don't have that kind of cash which is why i'll just stick to my controller but i'm sure i'll get a gaming rig sooner or later

You will one day. Once you do gaming heaven awaits.

There's many reasons why its criticised. But I think some people just don't like hardcore hermits or followers of the church of Crysis, claiming superiority over everything.

[QUOTE="NerubianWeaver"]It's Expensive. Consoles are much more convenient than PCmirgamer
Depends on where you live. US, sure. Other parts of the world, console gaming is a lot more expensive than a budget pc gaming rig.

That's a big misconception. In the Philippines where i previously live. Xbox 360 Arcade (Jasper) cost PHP 11-13k it's about $241-285 when converted. A good PC costs PHP 30,000 or more. (Almost $700 above) See it's clearly expensive
