I think you've missed the point of mymost often-repeatedargument in SW... that it's a bad idea to draw conclusions about people's intelligence based on their choice of platform. I'm not commenting on your intelligence at all.

I' sorry i've never found mods or anything like that in particular to be of any useful to me. They're pretty much a waste of time. And sure one can claim that it increases game longetivity, but I rarely game nowadays. I have so much in life to do its crazy. And to bore myself with these mods is sad.

PC's have loads of variety, try this,

Race games,

JRPG, WRPG

RTS,

TBS,

FPS,

MMO,

God games like city builders, empire builder (yes they are different), tycoons.

sports,

puzzle,

Browser games,

Mods, mods, mods, mods, mods, mods, mods, mods, mods, mods, mods, mods, mods, mods, mods, mods, mods, mods, mods, mods, mods

And i can play every game that ever came out and probably will come out in the next 4 years (not highest settings though.), My PC cost me 300 euro a year ago.

ummm...in most cases....and 8800 or 7900 geforce on a 3 gig dual core with 4 gig of memory can play multiplats at the same ugly resolution or better than consoles......and i could build that today for less than 150usd.....or back then....if i just used a 7900 when the 8800 came out....around 300-400....less than all the consoles except wii on release..../end thread/

I dislike the....for £400/500 you can build a computer which outpowers any console blah blah, etc. Because, we're talking about now at 5 years on from the start of this gen - go back to 2006, and I doubt you'd have been able to find me an equivalently powerful PC for £209? Same will happen with the next gen.

sry u guys are right...i kinda didnt research that before i posted....i have a desktop lying around that i spent less than 250 on...not including psu and dvd and case that still runs great and can play most games at the same resolutions that consoles do....seeing as how most of them run low resolution and upscale...but it has a amd x2 2.5 oc'd to 3 and 4 gig of ram and an 7900....its not the best...but it got the job done....oh and i always do the combo deals cause they cost less....sry bout that tho guys...but still....u dont need a 1000usd+ system to run these games....about 400-600 and itll run the same games as consoles for the same amount of time....face it....the games on consoles cant be better than the consoles...so to run the multiplats alone....u dont need to upgrade

People still prefer PC because of more higher rated games, superior multiplats, better graphics, mods, dedicated servers in nearly ever MP game, genres it does best at, certain genres that you don't see a lot on consoles, indie games, etc.

Those reasons won't stop them.:P

Actually an 8800GT is leaps and bounds above a console.

An 8800gt easily beats out 2 7800gt cards in SLI.

Heck an 8800gts 320mb beats 2 7800gt cards in SLI and the 8800gt is more powerful than the 8800gts 320 mb version.

I have an 8800gt OC and I can play most games at max 1680x1050 res.

Only games like crysis and metro 2033 need to be played at 1440x900, but still on max directx 10 settings.

i agree with all points apart from variety, also add to the list that pc games suffer from various issues that you get problems in installs, crashing in game, terrible optimization or problems with certain drivers that cause visual bugs in the game or stuttering and if something is wrong with your hardware you gonna have to test them all to figure out which one.dakan45

THe fact that you bore yourself reading a threat like this on a gaming forum whilst you hardly even game in your busy life is probably even sadder.

Mods are absolutely huge to PC gaming. The ability to mod and the current community of mods for games such as Dragon Age and Fallout 3 puts the PC version leagues ahead of its console counterpart.

I agree with TC 100%. PC gaming is alright, I play games like Halo, World of Warcraft and Team Fortress 2 on my PC. But that's only because I don't have an Xbox to play Halo 1, WoW isn't available on any console, and Valve didn't finish the PS3/360 version of TF2. (There are a lot of things missing.) And I like console exclusives more than PC exclusives. I can't play Uncharted, Warhawk, Sonic Unleashed, LittleBigPlanet, Skate 2, MLB10 the Show, Star Ocean 4, White Knight Chronicles, DBZ Burst Limit, Tales of Vesperia or Metal Gear Solid 4 on my PC. Console gaming is superior in my mind mostly because there are better games. (And everything else TC suggested.)

Maybe consoles are superior for some but I don't enjoy dumbed down games. So PC all the way for me.

When you pay $300 for a console, you can play the latest games for many years to come.

When you pay $300 for PC, you will find yourself upgrading your hardware to keep up with the most demanding games. The graphics may not look as good when compared to the PC version of the same game (assuming you have the latest hardware), but the fact that the games of the near-future (Rage, Killzone 3) will run at 100% on your system without the need of any upgrades is a great feeling.

Why would they be slimming down our consoles? Of course it's not just for looks.

Yes, it's true. People take their consoles with them.

Unless you have a mini-ATX build, your PC is staying home.

Accessibility - Anyone can do it. Get together with friends.

Just plug in and play. Don't worry about the hardware. We have that covered. Have fun for the next several years.

The games. The variety. Consoles have them, PCs don't.

It's not just about exclusivity. It's the variety that makes consoles get more attention from the masses.

Find a game like Super Mario Galaxy 2 on the PC. You can't

Find a game like Uncharted 2 on the PC. You can't.

Find a game like Little Big Planet 2 on the PC. You can't.

What you can find on the PC are games that can only take advantage of the mouse/keyboard configuration (for the most part).

Consoles get a lot more attention from the mainstream because consoles offer games for everyone.
