Pc graphics are overrated

Hermits here make it seem like games like crysis and metro 2033 are a generation ahead of consoles, what a load of turd.. ive played the best the pc has to offer (my college tutor can max everything) what do you guys think?

I like the abundance of proof in your post. Thus I will include an abundance in mine; I disagree.

I'm not a PC gamer but I've seen such games run at max and it's incredible to see. Not overrated IMO, just not what I suits my gaming needs.

No it isn't. I'd agree with him..and the only console I don't own this generation is the PS3.

Rendered resolution makes a huge difference..that's not even factoring in higher detail levels, addition of anti-aliasing, anisotropic filtering, transparency supersampling, etc.

Console games use trickery to make the scene look better (bloom, DoF, etc.) - so maybe a PS3 could render a scene like Crysis, but the background would have to be a texture and not the actual game world.

Metro 2033 Dx11 Maxed makes my PS3 look like a DS-lite.

No console this gen will EVER look as good as a PC, simply because a console is going for "bang for buck" with their hardware (not to mention 5 years old) while a PC is all about overkill and chewing up FPS like a cow chews cud.

The next gen of consoles will look like todays PCs, the major upgrade being full 1080p for the MS console. Even then, the console will be limited to 1920x1080 (I game at 2450x1600). Until TVs catch up with monitors consoles will always look jaggy, washed out and overly sharp in comparison.

I think the consoles are way ahead of anything the PC has to offer graphically.Arach666

Have you ever played Just Cuase 2 on the PC and then played the PS3 version? No. Becuase if you did, you would realize that they are worlds apart. Same with Dirt 2.

Empire Total War and ArmA 2 look better and have much more graphical fidelity than any console game.

No it's not overrated. Running oh overall higher settings and at higher resolutions is overrated how? I bet if the 360 or PS3 had that amount of power it wouldn't be overrated at all. It's just merely damage control here.

I would do a graphical comparison between my PC and my Consoles but my TV is really no good and wouldn't be a fair representation of console graphics.

Console graphics aren't bad at all. Uncharted 2 is one of the most beautiful games ever made and easily rivals many PC titles. However the PC always has the advange with higher framerates, resolutions, more AA, and more AF.

Sigh, another butt-hurt "I can't afford a PC (yet)" thread.

You will eventually buy a PC, then you will understand, in the meantime its probably better to drop this silly argument and just accept that for the time-being you are playing on an inferior 5-year old stripped-down PC.

When I was a PS2-fanboy my friend showed me HL1 on PC; I bought a PC that week. I suggest you do the same.

Actually, while I'm here, since when were graphics that important to gameplay anyway? The original Starcraft seems to be quite popular, as does WoW and Pac-Man.

If you do not care then why comment? Because you are like every other hermit who has to jump in a graphic's argument to justify you're dumb purchase when the money was better spent somewhere else. Old news. Most of us have wives, cars, girlfriends, guitar's, football practice, i-pods, go on vacations, ect....but hey! you get better resolution and nice looking cutscenes for boring games like shogun!!!
