So TC have you played those games?

I swear you're bipolar.
One day you can be nice to me and the next you're trying to troll and talking shit.
I think I've posted in OT MAYBE 3 times. Since I've been here.
Wasn't actually talking about you. thought i replied about something else
Well...you deleted your post.
Way to stand behind your convictions.

umm..if homeworld and Xcom 2 bombed people would notice..just not the console gaming community.
Maybe hermits who play those games....but everyone else would have just skipped over them without batting an eye.
Just like any other gamer who don't have a interest in certain genres.
still not understanding why you felt it necessary to bring it up.
B/c it's part of it.
Dirt Rally is a niche game too.
Are you telling me Console gamers don't care about it ?
Should Codemasters scrap the plans to release it on consoles ?
Dirt Rally is coming to console....and if it is niche...it's barely one.
And I never said anyone should stop making games just b/c they're niche.
I'm just pointing out where I see it....which is possibly a solid viewpoint.
So TC have you played those games?
You never answered the question I asked you.
I don't feel compelled to answer yours :)
So you haven't then. Thanks for the answer. And my first response stands.

Sorry....things got a little crazy there for a while.
It's been hectic around here. Did you see when I said that sentence calmly....and when I used that period instead of an exclamation point.
Crazy times man....crazy times.

It's a viewpoint. I'll give you that.
I don't see how a game being a niche has anything to do with anything.
Gaming is a bunch of niches bundled together.
What isn't a niche ? Fifa, Madden, Call of Duty, Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid, Clash of Titans... In other words: a small minority of games.
Calling a realistic rally game barely a niche ? Do you like making up your own definitions ?
@R4gn4r0k: false, Undertale didn't come out in the last two months. It's not a remaster, it's not a new release or port, it's just unnecessarily padding out a list for the last system that would ever need a padded list.
You are right. Undertale was reviewed on Nov 20th, which is more than just over 2 months.

to be fair he didn't say it released in the last two months...only that it was reviewed.

let it go, wasn't about you
@lawlessx: which is padding a list. Game was an AAA game retroactively when it was reviewed. No one would say November was a better month because Undertale was reviewed in it.
Well then, clearly the problem lies with Gamespot reviewing PC games too slowly.
I didn't pad any lists. Everything I stated in the OP is true.
@R4gn4r0k: you did. It's had three AAA games in that time. The fourth one didn't even come out in that time period.
Never stated Undertale came out in the last two months or little over two months.
Again, if I wrote anything factually wrong in my OP or in this thread point it out to me and I will gladly discuss this further =)
super hot arrives at the end of the month also..another cracker in the making hopefully. every time i see it i cant help but smile...it looks brilliant.
in saying that...xenoblade X is consuming my life at the moment.
that wiiu/PC combo.....nice to have :).
Oh right, I remember that game. It's a really interesting concept for sure! Thanks for bringing it to my attention again.

3 AAAE's in 20 days is more impressive anyways
Helps make up for not ever having a 10/10 exclusive or a recent exclusive GOTY in the last decade+ as per GS scores..
One 10/10 per decade OR 4 AAA scoring games in 2 months
Hmmm, what to choose, what to choose...
The best game the industry has to offer. I dont know why PC never gets those?

Too subjective and vague of a description I guess.

Have fun man ! Have you played it yet ?
Not yet, try tonight. I'll see if I have to cheat(look up) puzzles. :P

Yeah, hehe, that is my main concern with this game as well. Braid was very puzzle based too, but I consider myself good at 2D platformers (thanks mario !)
But from what I saw this game seems very intuitive :)

I'm not making up my own definition.
Those games sell as much as they do b/c of the amount of ppl who play on PC/Steam.
Dirt Rally is a premier racing game. The same ppl who buy your COD, AC, Farcry and more popular games would consider buying Dirt before Homeworld or any of the others you mention.
Thats where I'm going with that definition.
And, yes, I know that isn't a compliment given the company I'm putting it in, but it's just for reference.

Rally games are a small segment of racing games, realistic rally games are a small segment of rally games. How on earth is that not niche ?
lol PC gaming
it can get 100 AAA's in an hour and i still wouldnt care
Nice to hear you'd miss out on amazing games so willingly.
How is Destiny ?
Anyway, I would really like to see PC get 100 AAA's in an hour. I'd definitely make a thread about that :D

i bet more people will be playing Xcom 2 than Dirt Rally on consoles. Firaxis games cultivate huge communities on PC.
Homeworld is just as big a name to the RTS genre as Dirt is to the Racing genre

Mr Huggles is making up his own rules to what is niche and what isn't.
It doesn't work that way Mr. @mr_huggles_dog
And even if his definitions were correct... I still fail to see how niche or popular has anything to do with anything.
PC is popular because it covers the most niches. Yet, it also constantly gets big games like Just Cause or Rise of The Tomb Raider. Why are consoles not in the same league ? They've been out for over 2 years now and they can't compete with PC's last 2 years.
Is that dragon cancer even a game? It's just a bunch of interactive sequences of memories and events that you click on. I loved the experience but as a game it fails. Again I loved it but it's also on the ouya too.
And Undertale released in September last year and got reviewed like two months ago. I agree PC is the better system overall but this list is lacking I feel.

Well, that settles it then. Clearly Ouya > PS4 and XBone
No, but seriously. This thread is about more than that dragon cancer.
Never tried to make any list if I'm honest. Just stated that PC got 4 AAA reviewed games on gamespot in the past two months (well, a bit more than 2 months but oh, well)... While PS4 and XBone got...
*insert gif of thumbleweed that springs to mind everytime I think of PS4 and Xbone here*

I guess...I just hear more around the horn regarding the Dirt games over the years than any of those games TC mentioned.
I'm just giving my stance.
I don't know why he's so mad.

Fine....they're huge games and they're AAAE that make PC the bestest evar.
Theres not set definitions and the games in discussion aren't really big or small enough to call them either way.
It's all perspective. I gave you mine.
But whatever.
Theres not set definitions and the games in discussion aren't really big or small enough to call them either way.
All of those games are niche games.
Shame you have to spin it all down into "You're so mad bro"
You can't really tell emotion from written text. I do all of this (this entire thread and all of my posts) tongue in cheek. I have never taken System Wars seriously, and never will. I could be laughing my ass off or burning with fury and you'd have no clue as to either, as this is simply written text. Perhaps you are projecting stuff onto me ? I have no clue.
We were simply having a friendly discussion.

You can quote every post in this thread....doesn't change the fact that I'm giving my viewpoint....my definition. Which is the purpose of saying there's no set definition to such things....unless obviously clear.
And I can tell you're upset b/c you went into replies to me from someone else and proclaimed how I was wrong. It didn't involve you.
Being a smartass saying I'm making up my own definitions is another sign. I'm pretty sure many ppl would say these games don't attract a wide variety of gamers.
All I'm doing is explaining my definition regarding how I see it...which many others possibly would agree with.
