PC had 4 AAA games in about 2 months time

I think where it goes wrong is when you put down other platforms to "try" and praise another. If you game,then game. Love all games and all platforms. System Wars is slightly stupid..why put down something you like just because its not on your system of choice?

If PC was so great, it's fanbase wouldn't need self affirmation every 2 minutes.

You forgot Darkest Dungeon which has got great reviews to and is a fantastic game. Great start to the year for pc gamers, the Rise of the tomb raider port is good to.

And yeah, you are absolutely right. I shouldn't put down other platforms.

Yet, what I can do is expect more from PS4 and XBone after being on the market for 2 years. I think everyone should.

I am a bit unsure about the term AAA, as I understand its used to classify games with the highest proffesional ratings, high level of promotion and biggest development budget, but its often used very loosly.

So nothing but small Indie, top-down and filler garbage?

So PC really doesn't have any good games? Guess I'll have to wait for consoles to release some real games to play in 2016.

If you see a publisher use the term "AAA game", they are talking about the game's production budget, and to that extent: the game's marketing budget too. As a game with a huge production budget needs to have an equally huge marketing budget in order to recoup the costs.

But that definition is not the case here. A, AA, AAA and AAAA are simply used to talk about what games scored.

A = 7 /10
AA = 8/10
AAA = 9/10
AAAA = 10/10

These are the most important games for a platform, as they are the highest scoring ones. You'll also see terms like AAAe, which means an AAA scoring game that is also exclusive.

PC seems to have both quantity and quality.

@jg4xchamp: Other than the arcades dragon game or collecting pills the game basically plays itself. it's not fun to play, it's on rails, it's not even a walking simulator type of thing. it's just a predetermined path you click on and go to read or interact with what you clicked on . as an experience it's gripping and fantastic but it fails to be a fun video game if i have to be exact. I just really enjoyed it as an experience but as a videogame it's just not what i would play.

I get what it's trying to deliver and it did it flawlessly but i wouldn't return to it someday for that gameplay, but for the emotional ride it delivered.

Sounds like Ace Attorney or other Graphical Novels I played on handhelds.

I'd say the PC has had 6 AAA games in the past 2 months.

I thought the whole idea of System Wars was to do just that. Every thread is just an excuse to slag the other systems. Otherwise, we'd be in System Loves, not Wars. If that ever happens, bye. ;-)

Homeworld: DoK and XCOM 2 looks like future purchases for me. Not interested in the other two. But, Undertale definitely looks like something my daughters (19 and 8) would play.

I would just think that if you are trying to make a case for pc superiority, that dragon is kind of a game that everyone says its good, but nobody really plays cause its pretty depressing... I dont think many people are going to be jealous that they couldnt play it...

This is System Wars, we always compare PC from the start of a console gen. If we counted every single gen for PC, it simply wouldn't work.

We've had FMV games, interactive movies, point and click adventure games, walking sims, and all this other stuff, I would argue it's a bit odd to act like That Dragon is any different.

You still spend a lot of time interacting in that world, and one big elements of that game is having to feel hopeless as a player during certain stretches which I don't think works without you interacting with that thing. It being on rails and "not fun to play" aren't exactly reasons why it fails as a game. The fact that the subject matter is about a kid with cancer, would imply the game is not about being fun. Experience and video game don't have to be something completely different. Without spoiling I would say its most potent moment is a product of interaction as much as it is the story concept.
