Not for anyone with a brain.

My 10 year old nephew has no problems building a PC from scratch and it only took an hour of google searching for him to find everything out.

If you are too lazy or unintelligent for Computer gaming then don't play games on the PC.

In fact don't touch a PC at all.

Or if you are rich make someone else do all the work.

clyde46

You do know that everyone can't build a PC. They just want to play GAMES; they don't wanna be bothered on building a PC. While on Consoles you just have to plug and play it thru your TV. No tinkering of settings before playing a game required :| Oh! and tell to your non-existent nephew i said hi

Or you could pay someone to build it for you.

See. You also have to pay a person just to build it for you. It's like an additional $50 :|

@lundy

1) You can upgrade consoles? :o Maybe every gen but when upgrading your components on your PC it usually take every 2-3 years just to get better performance than consoles

2) Not all games auto-detect. And you still always have to tinker the settings especially if you have a low-end PC

3) Not all games are supported by steam. And you have to find the patches on the Web then download it; install it. While consoles does automatic updating for you ;)

So? I dont see a point here.

It's Complicated :|

If you can't cope with keeping your programs up to date i sure hope you arn't posting on a windows machine as it's a pretty much certainty that you'll pick up a virus within a week. If you can't handle something like that you shouldn't be using a PC at all really as that is basic PC maintenance.

Well since Gamespot doesn't think there's a AAAA PC game I guess I should just stop playing PC games.

Boy I sure liked it better in the old days when we jumped from our NES to our Commodore to our Sega in the same day and didn'twhineabout which was better. We just enjoyed playing games.

I also like how now it's all about speed, processing power and graphics instead of gameplay and creative game design. It's sad that so many gamer's lack the capacity to decide for themselves which games are fun and which games aren't and have to let Metacritic do their thinking for them.

BTW, even as a Sony fanboy, this thread is ridiculous. Saying the PC never had great games is like saying all Nintendo had was two Italian guys throwing mushrooms at a giant monkey.

General advice: Losing weight and getting laid makespeople less irritable.

Consoles have never had as many AA and AAA games as the PC in the history of gaming. Let's do a whole thread on that.

To be honest TC, this thread highlights absolutely nothing of significance. Your opinion is that the lack of a AAAA PC game on Gamespot somehow reflects "poor quality" or something of that nature (completely ludicrous of course). The opinion of the wider professional gaming review community, is that the PC is held to far higher standards than consoles (much like GS holds the 360 and PS3 to higher standards than the Wii).

The fact of the matter is that the PC has far more highly-rated, good quality games (AA or higher) than any other console. Given the quantity of exceptionally high quality PC games, I think the point of this thread is mute.

Maybe it's time for this thread to die?

My brother-in-law is autistic. He's high functioning and he's really into games. He can tell you everything about a game because he reads about them on wikipedia and in reviews. He talks about which ones are the best because they got highly rated. But he sucks at them. Sad, really.

I just think that with all the money developers put into making games, and with all the money that goes into building machines to play those games, it's sad that so many people have trouble or are unable to appreciate them for what they are. Like my brother-in-law. He owns games and knows a lot about them, but he doesn't really enjoy them because he spends so much time angsting over how good people think they are, or what rating they got. He spends very little time playing them, in fact. I mean, mostly because he's no good at them, but also because he can't get over the whole rating thing, you know, because he's autistic and its more of a rote thing with him. I just thought he was the only one who did that sort of thing. So I'm surprised to see other people really care that much about it. And really, I just can't understand why we can't come up with an intelligent reason why PC games just can't seem to pull off an AAAA rating. I mean, we've seen the spreadsheets so the proof is undeniable. But wow, you'd think with all of these experienced gamers chiming in we'd be able to come up with something that would satisy your curiosity. Really, I just feel ashamed.

Believe it or not their is no true AAAAE games on consoles. Because: 1. They pay for the reviews for those games 2. Hype which plays a real part in high sales and high resales when people realize their not that great. 3. Standards for console reviews are different then PC, PC reviews analze every aspect and compare them to the rest of Pc collection.

He's right you know. When you get hired at Gamestop, they put you through a ritual. It's like in Legend of the Overfiend, but instead of cutting of your own wang and replacing it with a demon wang, you forfeit your hands for special demon gaming hands that allow you to see the true merit of the game. I can't believe you think that you as a gamer have the right to think yourself equal to a Gamespot reviewer. Sheesh.

Not AAAA

NEStorianPriest

In my opinion it is AAAA and all these reviews are opinions.

You sure are acting trollish.

PC games are also reviewed with higher standards compared to console games and that is stated by the reviewers.

Gamespot Scores > Your Opinion

He's right you know. When you get hired at Gamestop, they put you through a ritual. It's like in Legend of the Overfiend, but instead of cutting of your own wang and replacing it with a demon wang, you forfeit your hands for special demon gaming hands that allow you to see the true merit of the game. I can't believe you think that you as a gamer have the right to think yourself equal to a Gamespot reviewer. Sheesh.

In System Wars we use GS scores. Scores do equal quality, what's the point of the spreadsheets then, which tracks the highest quality games based on scores? Scores can be subjective, but on the spreadsheets, they are objective

[QUOTE="NerubianWeaver"][QUOTE="Arach666"] Gamespot´s best games ever list with almost no console AAAA but with plenty PC AAA»»»»your opinion.

Arach666

The fact still remains that there is no AAAA PC Game.

And the fact that AAAA games were irrelevant for that list remains as well.

How was it irrelevant? :|

Question: Why does that even matter?

PC has plenty of AAAA games, according to other reviewers, but, of course, GS scores are the only opinions that matter.

Also, PC has some of the most influential and legendary games than anything. History defining games > AAAA gamespot review.

Planetscape AAA, reguarded as one of the BEST pc games ever. Half-Life 2 - AAA, seen by many as the BEST story driven PC FPS ever. your point has nothing to stand on.

Hey did I tell you about my bother-in-law,who is in fact autistic? But he has this thing, see, where he really has trouble enjoying games because he's so wrapped up in scores and reviews. He totally misses that people review the games and that they are not generated by super-computers, and that they are to be used as a guide whenbuying games, you know, because that's what these magazies exist for, to sell you things, because they stay in business by advertising for developers.Even when I explain this to him, he just stonewalls me. Sometimes I think that no one could get through to him. But that's him. He's my brother-in-law. Like, he'll just keep comin back over and over again and it's like there won't ever be any resolution.

And I shall say yet again, History defining games > AAAA gamespot review. What is your opinion on that?

*sigh* I merely asked a simple opinion on a statement....

My point is that AAAA scores are irrelevent. (In my opinion, of course) How a game affects the industry is vastly more important than its score.

Oh, you also failed yet again to answer my main Question: Why does that even matter? That is to say, what is your point?

That PC games are't good enough for AAAA? That the PC is a failure due to lack of AAAA games? What are you implying by saying "PC has no AAAA games?"
