Well yeah, we have the best everything.

Well duh. True horror games (ie: not action games with a zombie theme) are a niche genre that is hardly touched by major devs/publishers, and only really cared for by indie devs. It just makes sense that not many of them make it to consoles.

Well..duh. It;s also where most of new styles of horror were born.

It helps that PC has much more vibrant indie scene. Especially the freeware one. Last decade has seen insane ammount of experiments with horror done in short free games and then a lot of those ideas were used to commercial titles.

PC's trend setting role seems to be only strenghtening these days when it comes to horror. Realistically VR looks like the next big jump in horror gaming and PC will be leading the VR charge.

PC has been the 'Go To' platform for horror games since 2010. Not to mention the old classics. I'm looking forward to PAMELA, Sci Fi horror game. Looks excellent.

Then you have Horror Shooter from ex Witcher devs, Inner Chains.

Not so much on the scary scale as a whole. But the haunted hotel in Bloodlines remains one of the most terryfing things ever done in videogame format.

Everything with zombies in it is considered horror.

It's the same for movies.

I'm not saying that is my opinion, it's just ... that's always been the case.

Layers of Fear is very good.

PC has a ton of good ones BUT it doesn't have Silent Hill 2/3 or Fatal Frame 2

PC has 2 to Homecoming but may require some editing. You can even get a brand new copy of Silent Hill 3 on ebay/amazon.

I find it scary when I'm all by myself/the last man standing on a dark and creepy map like Farm or Wyre and there are fleshpounds and scrakes after me and I don't have the appropriate perk to deal with them. The music helps set the mood. KF2 takes this away with their music it makes feel like jumping into a horde of zeds with a katana in real life.

Like playing an RPG and not having the ability to heal , or wasting all your ammo and having 2 enemies left with mini guns.

Penumbra and Amnesia:TDD alone cement that it does. Those are 2 of the creepiest games I've ever played. I've played Silent Hill 1-3 and Fatal Frame 1 and 2 and while they are creepy, there was never a point where I didn't want to investigate an area because it was just that creepy.

By and large I agree, however I couldn't help but notice that one of my favorite horror series, Silent Hill, is not on that list.

Tons of games in the list aren't even horror.

While not a horror game specifically, it's a more unsettling experience than the majority of games that prance around as horror.

Yeah it's really obvious, the TC is of the opinion that the best horror games are on PC, it says so in the title. I agree with him as well, the best horror games are available on the PC platform.

The OP did not mention exclusive.

He said "Pc has the best horror games", which his list proves it does.

I'm not going to lie, SS2 is scarier to me than most horror games of the last 2 gens.

While a lot of those games are good, the fact that Cry of Fear isn't on that list is blasphemy. It's the scariest horror game ever made that isn't called Silent Hill 3.

PC is home to the best horrors, that is true.

@Halo2-Best-FPS: PC home to low budget games would be a better title. :)

And better games in general, big or small budget.

Also home to the most AAA and AA budget games. You must underestimate the cost of MMOs.
