I've known people who have been playing 3rd strike(among many others) for years on a PC--online. The system is only crap for fighters if you let be--then again, that holds true of a lot of things concerning PC gaming.

mugen isnt a game. mugen isnt a console. its an engine. the fact that almost everything made for mugen completely sucks isnt the point, the point is that arguing that mugen makes the pc better for fighters is like arguging that xbl is the best for games because of the indie gaming development tools, or that every system is awesome because they can use unreal engine (well not the wii). its irrelevant to the discussion at hand.
also, if a platform is flooded by utter garbage and has a few gems, its still pretty much by definition awful. the 3do had star control 2 but that didnt make it a good console.

SPD.
As I expected, no one can give any specific reasons why keyboard is inferior to controller. I remember people used to say 3rd person shooters were better with controllers but could give no reasons why. What it really boils down to is that a controller isnt as pathetic at fighers as they are at shooters but not better than keyboard.
two possibilities i can see here, though more are possible; you either dont know what spd means or youre imagining that a 360 is easy to do on a keyboard; if either of those are true you shouldnt enter discussions on fighting games.
keyboards are awful for fighting games even if some people make it work. whether it works is pretty much irrelevant to the discussion. the arcade stick is the best when talking about fighting games, its not like you talk serious flight sims without considering a flight stick (yes i am aware of some extremely talented pad and kb players but obviously we are speaking in generalities for the purposes of this discussion).
Keep in mind most if not all fighters are designed around using a controller. Move the mouse in a circle instead of a stick for the spd? Give a reason why a fighter built around m/kb wouldnt be just as good if not better than controller. I never brought up flying games.Tekken is massive? I don't know anyone who liked 6.

A lot of people don't like sequels but still play the games. Tekken 6 is the most played fighter right now while SF4 is mostly just Japan and US. T6 is played more in Japan and has it's own league, Tekken CRASH which is similar to the Korean OSL.
Glad to spread the knowledge. Now you won't need to make ridiculous statements in the future.

My Street FIghter IV SE Arcade Stick that I bought for my PS3 is PC compatible. I use it to play 3rd Strike, Street FIghter Alpha, Super Street Fighter Turbo, etc. on the PC all the time. The competition I find on GGPO is VASTLY superior to any competion I play against on Super Street Fighter IV on my PS3. So why the hell would I use a keyboard when I have a PS3/PC compatible stick I bought for 59.99? Why does this thread exist?chaotzu
I'm wondering about that myself.

So what differences would a dev make for an arcade stick as opposed to a standard console controller?A fighter designed for Nostromo on pc would be much more functional than an arcade stick. Mouse in one hand nostromo in the other, cant beat that.
If the EVO Player's Choice game is an exclusive to the PC then how is the PC crap for fighters?
Raymundo_Manuel
What? If you mean MBAA then that game is most definitely NOT the the Evo player's game of choice. The scene is tiny in comparison and I believe was only in Evo 2k10 because BB:CS wasn't out in time. As mentioned it's not even on the PC.
